Well, I think the clue is RED. I get this in a couple of ways:

  1. Episode Title "The Color of..."

  2. A circle in red when Push continues after commercial break.

  3. Closing credits on left side of screen in red instead of the normal yellow color that ABC uses.

  4. Push Nevada Times front page story, Blood oranges which are described in the article as red .

Just my thoughts, and by the way, we all know where the money is, and where the Bible is, that is really no secret after Ep. 3.

no, it's definitley orange. It was too obvious that the producers wanted the viewers to know it was orange.

+ One of the suits who spies shadrack drinks orange juice
+ there is an "orange everywhere" microfiche article on both the Push Nevada intro and the microfiches jim scrolls through
+ The white hair guy who peels an orange during an assasination attempt on jim
+ the spanish guy's translation
+ and of course, the push-times article

Actually, I was thinking about the color red also.

I remember from high school English class, that in Gothic literature, Red represents CHANGE (remember 6th Sense?). These are all slight changes that you mentioned, so the idea seems to work.

The last time I checked, this forum was titled "Clue and Hint Forum", not "Gloat and Goad Forum". If you would rather not discuss the clues on the show, then I would suggest that you post over at the General Discussion Forum. There are a number of posters on this board who appreciate the opportunity to discuss the clues and hints and would prefer not to have the forum cluttered up with "I know something you don't know" threads. That's the main reason why there are multiple forums for certain shows.

First, I just wanted to throw a stupid coincidence out there thus far.

Ep 1: The Amount
Ep 2: The Black Box
Ep 3: The Color Of...

OMG, that's subliminal advertising for ABC!!!

Anyway...

I also noticed something kind of odd with the dates that we heard in Episode 3.

Jim tells "what's her face" who was washing his tatoo that his father died in 1986. They've hinted that it has something to do with a car (the red car wheel) or some kind of accident. The vinegar lady also revealed that she's acquainted with Mr. Prufrock.

Jim's secretary tells him that no one has file some kind of tax report (bad trasmission here) in 17 years. If it's currently 2002, that means the last time anyone has filed something (or it hasn't been erased yet in the database) was 1985.

So, we have this kind of timeline:

1984: Watermark buys Versailles Casino
1985: The last tax form is turned in.
1986: Al Prufrock dies.

I have one (now!) questions for all of you:

1. Do you have any leads on why Mr. Prufrock was in Push, and how he died???

Thanks!

well........ the motel owner did have the other hankercheif. and the other guy who talks to marry in slomans, asked jim if he was 'any relation to..'
and his old job was a town historian.

my guess is that his father died out in the desert in FOUR hours. from the heat
or something
and that's why there's the constant reference to four hours out in the heat.
just a guess...

My guess(and I'm just throwing this out) is that Martha is Jim's mom or was his father's lover at one time or another. She was very maternal toward Jim when he was sick.

I was thinking about that notion for awhile. I'm sure it's POSSIBLE that Martha (that's her name?) is his mother, but for some reason it just seems kind of cheap. You know, like those lousy movies that throw twists at the end just for shock value.

I have a couple ideas about how his father died IF he is dead (they do like to pull that kind of thing)

1. Al got involved in Push's "business affairs" and, in classic Sopranos style, "got whacked." This would explain the coincidence of 1985 and 1986. Remember, the opening credits. The form has 1984-1985 flickering.
2. Like busby mentioned, he may have gotten stuck in the desert and roasted. This would explain the truck driver's reference to "not stopping would be murder."

Also, I have this weird feeling about Jim's trunk of his car. They zoomed in on it, and then cut to the "Red Goodyear" shot, like his trunk brought back a memory (or maybe I've seen "Sybil" too many times).

Quotes of the week

2. "Do they think I'm too controlling?" -Helen (um, yeah)
