"Big Brother 13 Live Feeds Week 4: Twistage ahead as well as Endurance?"
Posted by vince3 on 07-28-11 at 09:58 PM
A twist in the game is promised after tonight's live eviction, and all signs are pointing to an endurance HoH competition: Lots of backyard construction/house lockdown, as well as the hamsters preparing to dress comfortably for the live show...As before, whatever happens in the live show will be in post #1 or thereabouts, so to not spoil those on the West and beyond...

Dominic got evicted 7-1: Daniele was the dissenter.Dominic's speech was supposed to light a fire under the remaining newbies' collective butts to rise up against the Boomerangs with Daniele... but it was EPIC FAIL, just like the Regulator alliance... who's now down to Lawon.
HoH Competition has everyone but Rachel (outgoing HoH) on 'slalom skis' that are swinging back and forth as they're holding on to ski poles imbedded into the wall. The wall/mountain can lean forward, making it steeper, and they're getting pelted with wind/fake snow...
First 5 off will get to open a snowball, and one of them is worth $10k! The others? Could be good, could be bad...

Adam/Lawon... No word on what they got in their snowballs, good or bad...

Adam & Lawon: already off. No word on prizes/punishments yet.

Adam dropping is proof that they had to get rid of Duminic.

No word on what he got either...
"RE: Brendon: OUT"

How long before Rachel DRs that Brendon doesn't pull his weight, doesn't protect her by winning HOH?
"RE: Brendon: OUT"
Posted by Estee on 07-28-11 at 10:53 PM
When does the DR open? One of the questions I had in looking at this setup was 'Are the grips just there for balance, or is everyone partially supporting their weight?' If it's the later, then this rig favored the females.
"RE: Brendon: OUT"
Posted by vince3 on 07-28-11 at 10:57 PM
I think initially it was for balance, but then some of the 'skis' started to flop and fall and break... which meant they became support handles...
"This much is known"
Posted by vince3 on 07-28-11 at 10:35 PM
Adam and Lawon didn't get the $10k... and Jeff declared that if Brendon didn't get it either, HE was jumping off to go get it... with Jordan's approval.
Feeds returned, and he's still on there... so maybe Brendon got the $10k?

Adam: Elf for the week!Brendon: Have Not!
Lawon? Unknown, possibly also Have Not...

Jeff's out, only girls remain: Porsche, Jordan, Kalia, Daniele, Shelly...After Jeff chooses his snowball, only one will remain... and either the one he picks has $10k, or the one that he doesn't will have it...
"RE: Ladies Night"
Posted by vince3 on 07-28-11 at 10:49 PM
Lawon's confirmed to also be a Have Not... No word yet on what Jeff got, but if he didn't get $10k, there might've been a mass exodus to get it...
"RE: Ladies Night"

Okay, now I like Danielle's odds. She'll try to stay up as long as Jordan's on. After that, it's a question of how much she feels the others are in boomerang pockets. Shelly is the most likely to throw it. Kalia and Porsche need it, but they may not be up to this. Which makes it a two-horse race -- and one horse didn't wear the right saddle.

LAST EDITED ON 07-28-11 AT 10:57 PM (EST)Either a newbie takes this or Danielle gets to pull strings in person -- but either way, expect to see the long fall begin as of about two minutes ago.
Nominee prediction: Brendon & Jeff with their partners on veto standby.

"Denielle is revolting!"
Posted by Estee on 07-29-11 at 07:09 AM
She's going to nominate the boomerangs of her choice. (So far, she does seem to be looking at the males.)She's going to rely on the newbies to protect her.
She doesn't believe in payback.
Of course, when her father was around, she never had to deal with any.
"Historical note."
Posted by Estee on 07-29-11 at 07:31 AM
Should Danielle's Roaring Rampage Of Revenge go as planned (and barring instant U-turn for the departing, she'll get someone), Adam will become one of the very few hamsters to survive a costume week. I'm sure he's taking comfort in that.
"RE: Historical note."
Posted by zazzy on 07-29-11 at 07:59 AM
Enzo broke the curse.Dani is calculating who she wants on the jury.
I'd like to see self important misogynistic Brendan go home if Dani targets the vets.
"RE: Historical note."

>Dani is calculating who she wants
>on the jury.
Why? She'll be on that jury soon!
"RE: Historical note."
Posted by Round Robin on 07-30-11 at 01:25 AM
That may be, but she has to plan not only for who she wants on the jury, but also for who she wants out so she doesn't have to compete against them later. That will be especially critical next week when she won't be able to compete for HoH and will have to fight for PoV.
"RE: Historical note."
Posted by michel on 07-30-11 at 03:25 AM
>That will be
>especially critical next week...
...and the week after, and the week after...She has about 5 or 6 weeks of being the house's #1 target. If she somehow skates by, then she becomes eveyone's perfect goat to take to the end. To think she was in the perfect position just before Rachel's nominations. How dumb do you have to be to accomplish that?
Calculate all she wants, she cannot win and all because she found Duminic cute...
"RE: Historical note."

...and this time, she doesn't have Dick shielding her from the repercussions.
"'Prize' Tally"
Posted by vince3 on 07-29-11 at 08:47 AM
For the HoH 'Snowballs':Jeff: $10k
Adam: Elf Suit
Lawon, Brendon, Jordan: Have Nots.
Also, Rachel is back on full slop until Saturday... probably right after the POV... If she saved anything from last week's HoH basket, they might still be allowed, maybe...
"RE: 'Prize' Tally"
Posted by Wacko Jacko on 07-29-11 at 10:35 AM
LAST EDITED ON 07-29-11 AT 12:03 PM (EST)More bad then good in the snowballs. Not sure why Brendan and Jeff dropped out so easily.
"RE: 'Prize' Tally"
Posted by vince3 on 07-29-11 at 11:40 AM
From what I gathered last night Brendon it was a combination of the $10k still there, and that he was hurting. Once Brendon didn't get the $10k, Jeff evaluated his chances against all the girls, and decided that he might have better luck with the snowballs...
"Bonus Items revealed"
Posted by vince3 on 07-29-11 at 05:40 PM
Seaweed and Sardines are available to Brendon, Jordan, and Lawon (as well as Rachel for the next two days, I imagine...) as well as the slop rations...
"Third bonus item."
Posted by Estee on 07-30-11 at 07:05 AM
Insects. While there are edible seaweed items in the kitchen (wraps and such), the pieces used for display were apparently grabbed off the nearest beach and slapped onto the table without any consideration for an in-between cleaning. That meant they arrived with all the happy biting extras you get from lying on a bad patch of sand, with the added comfort of knowing that while you were locked in the backyard, they were infesting the entire cage. Of course, given the show, that may have been the master plan.

I've not yet caught up with what's happening in the house due to storms here in Michigan overnight, but here's some pics of Adam wearing his elf costume, courtesy of TVClubhouse:

I'm guessing that Adam is already thinking about selling this costume on Ebay.

...Brendon & Rachel.Yes, the tears have already started.
"Run, run away."
Posted by Estee on 07-30-11 at 07:09 AM
From the sound of it, Danielle's nomination speech raised blisters on all exposed surfaces. Set off the fire alarms. Reminded Grodner that she's already spent her medical budget for the decade and no one else even gets a aspirin. And after burning Brendon & Rachel with every red-hot syllable, she decided the next hamster she was going to pay tribute to would be ---- Ronnie.
She's been hiding in HoH. Just barely pokes her head out, and then only when Kalia & Lawon can play bodyguard. Doesn't want to see anyone, doesn't want to talk, doesn't want to be put in a situation where anyone can ask her 'So did you enjoy destroying your own chances while it was happening, or just as an after-effect?' Just stays curled up behind the lock and waits for the arrival of the camera.
Such a dominating power player.
"RE: Big Brother 13 Live Feeds Week 4: Twistage ahead as well as Endurance?"
Posted by zazzy on 07-30-11 at 11:15 AM
Watched FB of the Shelly-Kalia discussion from last night. 1:45 am quad cam, some cutaways but hang in for the conversation.Interesting. Kalia seems like she needs a lot of love/is needy for love.
She tells Shelly that she noticed how no one cheered for her (Kalia) in the endurance challenge and how all of the other group went inside after those they were rooting for fell off.
Shelly remarks that she, Shelly, came back outside to talk/ root? for Kalia and Dani. Kalia blows that off because the story is all about how no one cheered for her (lol).
Discussion goes on about why Kalia is ruffling feathers in the house. Discussion of wine pouring last night and an encounter with Rachael. Shelly tries to help Kalia see how she could have played it differently with Rachael. Kalia not hearing what Shelly's selling.
Shelly is trying to enlighten Kalia about Kalia's piggybacking onto others' cooking or making food, as in will you make me a sandwich, too? Kalia claims she has cooked for others and looks incredulous, mouth open, etc. when Shelly brings this up. Shelly says, well, yes, macaroni and cheese (is that all Kalia has made in the last three weeks?)...but Kalia is not getting it.
Shelly pries into Kalia's background, trying to find out where the sense of entitlement comes from. Asking if she came from wealth.
Kalia says she grew up upper middle class/ family had a pool/ there were rough times when her parents got divorced and we get a WBRB.
Later Kalia talks about being the only black woman in the house and tries to help Shelly understand what that feels like. Something happened when Kalia was in high school and she lost a lot of friends and her mother? said well, they all stick together (I understood this to mean that Kalia had a lot of white friends who she lost when something happened in high school) Kalia goes on to talk about going to Spellman for college and she learned what real friends were, and they happened to be black women.
Shelly asks about Kalia's experiences with prejudice. Shelly pried a lot last night!
Kalia proclaims her love for Dani and how she won't betray Dani, even if that makes her a target next week. She even cries about it. Told Dani she loved her when they were still up on the endurance wall and everyone else was inside.
Kalia has said part of what she has been doing in the BB house was acting but I don't think the crying for Dani when talking with Shelly was acting last night. I think Kalia wanted desperately to be part of an alliance and now feels she has it.
Kalia is not understanding why everyone out of the house loves her and it is so different in the house.

Kalia recounting the Shelly convo right now to Dani in the HOH.Talking the Diva thing. The entitlement thing.
Disclaiming that she piggybacks onto other people's cooking and asking them to cook some for her, too. Says that's Lawon, not her, and that she's cooked cabbage, tacos, chicken, macncheese, etc.
(LOL, I've seen her do the piggyback thing! She is lacking in self awareness.)
Dani...talking about when PT left no way asked if they are ok, did not ask Kalia, Dani, or Lawon, nobody, but when Cassi left people were concerned how people were feeling.

LOL, Kalia just said there was only so much of her pride that she could eat.Dani remarked that with Brendan gone it would be the end of the lovers' quarrels, the Bren-Jeff frat house thing, etc., and the house will be different next week.
Kalia feels like everything she says or does is nitpicked on.

Not only that, but she actually tells Shelly that "we (Kalia and Dani) are the targets next week, etc., etc. She's one of those players that takes on HOH by proxy. Like she's a co-HOH or something. She projects the danger onto herself when it is really Dani's danger from her noms. Why borrow trouble?
I'm trying to decide if she is narcissistic or if she is just attention starved.

The draw's pretty moot here -- the only people who would use it are the ones on the block. Danielle isn't hackdooring anyone that we know of, Adam's not throwing away what little goodwill he's built up, Jeff knows using the veto puts Jordan on the block, and I seriously doubt Porsche cares about anyone who isn't Porsche.

"RE: POV Players Selected"
Posted by Estee on 07-30-11 at 06:30 PM
There's been some discussion of getting the frat boy element out of the house, which seems to indicate Brendon -- plus we had some open cheering for Rachel during the competition, and that might be a first. (Also a potential lie, but...) However, Brendon has the Blingie. The fun question now becomes 'Would he use it to save Rachel and voluntarily fall on his sword?' What does Tru Luv dictate in this situation, or at least the warped version those two semi-enjoy? Because he'll use it on one of them -- but which one may be up in the air.
"RE: POV Players Selected"
Posted by cahaya on 07-30-11 at 10:10 PM
What does Tru Luv dictate in this situation...?Believe it or not (and this is not quite as off-the-wall as you might think): The tru luv thing to do is not use the Veto.
Consider that if he does use the Veto, whether it is to save himself or to save his tru luv, the house is almost sure to evict the one who is saved. (Not unless someone does something stupid and make avowed enemies of Dani and half of the rest of the house.) Expect Dani to put up a safe replacement. If he saves himself and Rachel goes, he'll get her blame. If he saves Rachel and he goes, he'll get the blame for being stupid enough to put himself out of the game. (If decides to use it, I expect he'll save Rachel.)
If he declines to use it, then he is blameless. It's not quite a Romeo and Juliet suicide pact, as one of them will live to play another day, but it's the closest thing.

It is a fun (for us) and interesting (for us) spot for Brendon to be in. I'm not sure that Brendon will snap to the possible nuanced repercussions of whatever decision he makes, but it's fun to see him squirm. Obviously, his best choice is to ditch the bitch, here and in real life, but something tells me he's not going to.
If he were to make the decision to stay, he might have a chance in the game to go to the end. With the two-vote Brenchel threat blunted for the time being, the others can concentrate on other more immediate threats/annoyances (J&J, Dani, Kalia) for a couple of weeks, and with that respite who knows what will happen. Someone may see him as a non-jury threat, and a great F2/3 partner.
OTOH if Rachel stays, she will probably be put up as soon as possible, her mouth will ensure that.

Bren has created a lie that he is going to use the veto on himself and Rach is acting like she is the one who is going home. Not sure what will come from this charade but it fits the story Shelly told Dani yesterday in the HOH room. And Shelly wants to see Rach go and for Bren to stay. (Any big target to hide behind).
Who knows? Bren may talk himself into actually using the veto on himself. We only have to wait until Monday.
Meanwhile, according to Jokers updaters, Kalia actually said something to Lawon in the HOH like "WE (she and Dani) have been waiting a long time to be HOH and now WE are." Like I said on another post, HOH by proxy.
There has been some scenario talk and Dankal don't know what to make of Shelly. Dani thinks she's shady.
Some discussion of what if Dani would put up( Shelly or Porsche as the replacement nom. Says she is not putting up Jeff or Jordan (but things can change when the DR gets involved). She made a deal with Adam to keep him safe this week and he won't nom her next week. So yeah! We get to see Adam shave that ugly, nasty lookin' beard.
Last night's chatter was about having a bachelor party for Bren and a faux wedding for Bren/Rach. Discussions about making a dress from trash bags, etc. Sounded like the hamsters were getting into the project. More airtime for Bren/Rach.
Assuming Rach is booted...will America vote for her to return? She seems to draw ratings.

Waves Hi to Axbridge! Who's your favorite this season?
"RE: VETO"
Posted by axbridge on 08-02-11 at 04:14 PM
Hi zazzy. My favorite was actually Dominic, then Cassie. Now I hope that Lawon or Danielle take the title. Porsche is too taken with herself, Kalia talks way too much - and not very well either - for me to like her, Adam is just annoying with his tribal grunts, and Shelly is the most insincere player I have ever seen. She is also the biggest a**kisser in BB history.
"RE: VETO"
Posted by zazzy on 08-02-11 at 04:48 PM
There are parts of Shelly's personality that are a big turn off for me, but I think she is playing a great game of BB so far! She has read up on relationship building and deploys her learning like no one since Will in BB2. For example, she knows that people love to talk about themselves and she spends time with most of the hamsters letting them do just that. Next, she flatters/blows smoke up their egos, inflating them and making them feel good about themselves. Lastly, she knows people remember you by how you make them feel. The one who is most on to her I believe, is Lawon. Shelly does not seem able to spend much time with him even though he is available a lot of the time. For example, when it is just the two of them in the kitchen. *crickets* Lawon knows it and has her number.
On the flip side, she is controlling, judgmental, and I think may have some deep rooted prejudices. I think she is an interesting player to watch, as is Kalia, who I think has tried to act on BB but found it exhausting and some of the real Kalia has been showing up.
I think it was ED who said a couple of weeks ago that people weren't showing their real selves yet...I agree, and that is starting to happen now.
"RE: VETO"
Posted by Belle Book on 08-02-11 at 09:23 PM
My favorite was Cassi, so that's why I hope she returns and takes Rachel down! At least Brendon's going down first.Shelly's actually playing a pretty good game -- better than I think I could. Let's face it -- I'm not great when it comes to sucking up to people I don't like much. Shelly can, and that makes her a better player. Whether that makes her a better person remains to be seen.
My favorite veteran is Jordan, by default. I wasn't too fond of Daniele in her season but since she's openly against the other Veterans I'm on her side more; I like Jeff but I didn't like his rant on Dumbledore and Rachel & Brendon -- do you have to ask? The two are delusional idiots!

Hmmmm.
Rach wins HOH; there's a Pandora's Box; she takes it; and her true love is behind the door/in the box. That sounds like BB scripting.

It is absolutely scripted. Any doubt I had was removed when the POV was always played ONLY by Jeff, Jordan, Brendon, Rachel, and the newbie who was on the block. No way did that just happen. I am betting that there were no other names in the bag except for the veterans (whom I refuse to call all-stars).

On the veto names....supposedly Kalia asked to see the names in the bag this week after Jeff was picked, again. All the names were there. On a separate occasion, I believe Rachel admitted you can feel the writing on the chips when selecting a name. Something a vet would know. ;)

LAST EDITED ON 08-02-11 AT 04:41 PM (EST)P.S. And Jeffie playing POV in the hot sun = good ratings. He plays but he doesn't win.

Even a simple minded devious idiot such as she can figure out how to stack the chips within the bag so that she could miraculously pull out the exact names she desired. I think the producers could count on Rachel to cheat if given the chance, and if it wasn't too complicated. Like, oh, I don't know...spelling Mouisturizer, maybe? Or The?

...didn't last very long. Around 4 p.m. BB time, Rachael heard that Danielle gave a shout out in her blog to Shelly's daughter. That made Shelly cry. But everyone agreed it was not done maliciously and Shelly even said she was okay. Apparently, Rachael disagreed and had a hissy fit. She stormed into the DR, demanding to know why Danielle can do certain things and she cannot. The DR told her to talk to Danielle about it. So, Rachael then proceeds to storm her way into the HOH and "ask" Danielle. Danielle, of course, isn't happy with this invasion. Words were exchanged, then Rachael goes on a crying jag. For hours.
Porsche told her not to keep moping around. That set off another round.
It is now about 10 p.m. BB time. Rachael is STILL in tears, Brendon tryng to calm her down by demanding that she visits the psychiatrist, and, if that doesn't work, that she DOR when he goes out the door on Thursday. (My dream scenario!)
In other news, the CBS web page had an "America's Choice" up prematurely, saying we would have a choice between the first 4 HGs and the most recent evictee (next week, not this week). The 4 pics included Brendon. The page is gone now but here's what it looked like:

Over at TVC, the votes are divided between Dom and Cassie, with a few going for Keith. No one mentioned Brendon.

Keith is entertaining, at least, even if not quite for the right reasons. I expect Dominic would dominate the vote and he would get mine.

LAST EDITED ON 08-04-11 AT 08:28 AM (EST)It's nice to see that CBS still can't do anything right with this show.
Naturally, the news of Rachel's latest breakdown sent me to the HoH blog page to find Danielle's entry. And because CBS can do nothing right, it wasn't up yet. (What was I thinking?) I wanted to see exactly what Danielle had said which might have set Rachelle off. Not that she needed to say or do anything, but, y'know, just for the historical record.
The better question might be 'What was Rachel not allowed to say?' Shout-out to her workplace? The show probably locks out any business promotion which they can't get commercial money for. Family member? Now we're bordering on ridiculous, but with Grodner in charge... Demanded an editor? They should have given her that one.
But the point's ultimately moot. Rachel went off because she's upset about Brendon leaving and any excuse to cry would do. More to come.
ETA: After searching around, Rachel accused Danielle of using the shout-out to emotionally manipulate Shelly. (There were also hints that the DR told her to start something.) Is it possible that Danielle was going for that? Sure: her father has taught her well. But it could have been an honest moment -- and the DR always wants the screams.

To be fair, I would be mad, too, if I were told explicitly that I could NOT do shout outs and there Dani, the BB villain is, doing shout outs! Ah, but life is not fair.
I only caught a smidgen of an earlier conversation in the hammock, but Rach and Brendan think only THEY are there to win the 500k. How dare Shelly or Adam or Jeff want to win the big prize? Oh, the hubris.

I'm voting for Cassi, with Dominic second in my personal ratings. I don't want Keith back and Brendon can just stay far, far away!

I expect that producers will elect to revive Dominic IF Danielle is NOT on the block and predicted to go next week. They would want to reunite the two and have two factions with some numbers in the house. If Danielle is voted out and it's her OR Dom, he is still a strong competitor but less golden for them, and the Cassi v. Rachel pairing might also appeal to them, plus they will tell Cassi to up her grooming and dress if she goes back, lol.
Personally I wouldn't have minded seeing the two couple vets make it to the point where they went at it tooth and nail.
CBS likes to return underdogs or pot-stirrers, and they love drama. The newbies are horribly boring so in spite of the barf bag stock getting a big boost from Brenchel, at least the duo gives them footage, fights, and tearfests.
I agree that America's votes are a good source of texting revenue for the sponsor, and that's about all they're good for.

Now that we know we've got Revive-A-Hamster in play, we have to start looking at jury formation. This week brings us down to nine. Next week would send the first hamster to the sequester villa. But -- bring someone back in, and what happens to the departing rodent? Why aren't they an option on the poll: vote for the unknown? They're not guaranteed a jury spot because getting a returnee puts us back at nine. This smells -- familiar. (And still stinks.)I think what's going to happen here is another repeat. Right after next week's eviction, the hamsters will be told they have one more vote: they can take the Mystery Houseguest whom America just voted back in, or they can have their most recent evictee back. With about ten seconds to think it over. And then the scramble will begin...
I can pretty much guarantee Rachel will vote for the Mystery Houseguest. How could America not love her Buki!
...America just came between her and her man. Fear.

...and what happens to the departing rodent? Why aren't they an option on the poll: vote for the unknown? From the graphic, it seems the 5th bootee gets an automatic bid to go up against one of the first 4, which is voted on in the poll.

LAST EDITED ON 08-04-11 AT 10:50 AM (EST)That’s the way I read it too. The 5th bootee goes up against whomever America picked from the first 4. How they compete is the question. Either, as Estee suggested, the hamsters get to pick or there is some kind of competition between the two.
ETA - If they get to pick, they won't know for whom America voted. JMHO

*nods* I'm not reading 'compete' as a direct challenge match: just a chance to have the cage vote on you a second time. A direct challenge match would have been more of an original idea (barely), and this season is all about cut-and-paste.

It all comes down to the word "battle". Now, that could be a battle of House votes or a battle in competition or a battle of wills.

Or a battle to see who Grodner wants most. People are already openly doubting the America poll votes will count.

No. Remember, BB doesn't have to operate under game show law. They can collect the text fees, call it an advisory opinion, and then happily pick the hamster who'll start the most fights.

...and they hired a WWE script writer this past off-season...On the note of who would start the most fights, that would probably be either Brendon (especially if Rachel's still inside...) or Keith (just for squick factor... especially Porsche's)

Buki schmuki. I am so sick of these two I can't stand it. I want Brendon out of there post haste just so I don't have to listen to him talk about "my fiancee" any more. Those two make me want to hurl. They are totally unlikeable. Oh, and gross too.

Was that season 9? Otherwise I don't recall the house getting to vote between a revive a hamster or a recently booted one.HOH room, couple of days ago: Dani to Kalia: I had a dream...and goes on to describe a competition among formerly booted houseguests, etc.
What a way she has with slipping the ol' DR supplied info out among the hamsterverse.
