"Big Brother 12 ECST Week 3: Endure Surf for HoH"
Posted by vince3 on 07-25-10 at 09:41 AM
When we last left the hamsters on TV, they were on surfboards competing for the HoH. Monet had walked the plank 7-2, and we already know that there won't be a Have/Have Not competition this week: Rachel as outgoing HoH, and the first 5 to fall from the Hoh competition will be the Haves. Out of the last 5, only the HoH will avoid the Have Not room and consequences...Can things get any better? Probably not.
Can things get any worse? Practically guaranteed...

She also claims that she is playing this game hard.

Well Kathy has spent more time in the HOH room than any of the HOHs.

falls mainly on Enzo's brain. With some splashback to Matt. The Genius is going into DR revenge mode. Sure, everyone wants Rachel & Brendon out -- but Kathy voted to evict him! Kathy must pay! And she must do so before her awesome challenge forceness manifests!
Yes, he claims he's watched the show.
Meanwhile, the HoH letter received makes everyone feel really sorry about Matt's wife and her illness. Especially the foundation researching a cure for the very real disease she doesn't have, because they can only ride this train for another month.

Yes, even Andrew, the doctor who had me thinking the illness was invented, now believes Matt. Has no one seen Pearl Islands?

Because he's so intelligent, he can't even work out what he's doing. And meanwhile, who's figured out how the show thinks? Enzo. 'Octopus and Oreo cookies'... Well, he's close. It's not as if Endemol would ever pay for a branded product.
Lane attempts to roleplay with his horses. Roll a d20 to see where the first kick lands.
"RE: Matt begins to outsmart himself."
Posted by michel on 07-25-10 at 09:25 PM
Lame did get more airtime on this show than in the first 2 weeks but it didn't necessarily make him look better! I wonder if his horses and cows also do role play and try to figure what he's thinking. It must not be too hard.
"RE: Matt begins to outsmart himself."
Posted by kingfish on 07-26-10 at 07:34 AM
Yeah, that had me rolling. Roll playing with cows? There's only about three thoughts that a cow has (eat, poop, and sex), and one of those is pretty much autonomic.
I guess that fits Lane pretty well, though, and why he's my pick to win this thing. As long as his plops don't land on the rug.

LAST EDITED ON 07-25-10 AT 09:16 PM (EST)I hope Andrew finds a way to blow Matt's ego into atomic sized particles. It would be great to watch a narcicist decompensate. With an ego that size, there could be a mushroom cloud over the house, and vapor in L.A. for weeks to come.

What was up on BB After Dark last night - about 1:00am, when Kathy was lying on top of Kristen ?? is that her name? The one with Hayden? They were on a bed, and whispering. Kathy was literally lying on top of Kristen and kissing her. I could not make out what they were saying, but it looked like a segment from The Real L Word. It was outre, even for BB, to say the least.
"Veto Night."
Posted by Estee on 07-28-10 at 07:24 PM
Fans of Matt and his Genius should know he's already planned a way around the veto. He's going to hammer it out until it looks like a peace sign, and then everyone will be too afraid to touch it.It's a Plan.
"Convictions."
Posted by Estee on 07-28-10 at 08:12 PM
Matt is convinced that Kathy voted for him as a means of announcing her targeting. Also that he's a Genius.Andrew is convinced that Rachel knows the kosher dietary laws by heart and breaks them only to make sure he can't have iced tea.
The Meow2 is convinced this is an opportunity to backdoor the showmance, everything goes their way, and nothing could possibly go wrong.
The smirk thread is convinced it'll be seeing some traffic tomorrow.
"Oh, Lane."

'Gimme some Pop Rocks!''You have to clone yourself and ally with yourself.' (Worked really well for the twins.)
'I didn't know Jewish guys wore ninja outfits when they prayed.'
"All together now..."
Posted by Estee on 07-28-10 at 08:23 PM
'So much for that plan.'Both Brendon and Rachel are drawn to play for Veto. (Final player: Lane.) The Meow2 go into a moaning fit about how nothing ever works out for them. Andrew is convinced God hates him. Amber drops by just to agree with Andrew. Kathy feels she actually has to win, which might mean -- effort! And Andrew is so upset, he cleans the entire cage, including parts which people were using at the time.
But gosh, it's not as if the showmance is going to win Veto or anything, right? They can't win. Because they're up against a Genius.

Posted by Estee on 07-28-10 at 08:41 PM
The return of the estimate stay/fold game, only with a mystic theme for the items being counted and Enzo in a genie outfit, which might have been remotely tolerable if he'd never talked.First move: Lane goes out.
Second move: Matt (who as a Genius, is not allowed to count) goes out.
Meow2 doing well.
So Kathy goes out, some staying, some folding, Brendon and Andrew with two points of the required three apiece -- well, who do you think is going to win? After all, counting is Science!
Oh, poor Genius. His smirk may need a whole two minutes to recover.

"The Hail Esther play."
Posted by Estee on 07-28-10 at 08:59 PM
Andrew uses Veto to throw this bomb: openly blame Brenchel for his situation, declare he's after them, and ask for the Veto to be used on him. He succeeds in three things: confusing Britney, angering Rachel (but not Brendon, who was in on it), and convincing the rest of the house that he's so deep in Brenchel's pocket, he's sprinkling lint in his slop. Kathy may want to start unpacking now.
"RE: The Hail Esther play."
Posted by michel on 07-28-10 at 09:35 PM
Why didn't he say something like: "If you want a challenge, you'll use the veto on me but I think you're too afraid to do it." At least it would have made sense.

Rachel, who wasn't in on the plan, reacts to Andrew's speech honestly: with shock. The Smirk, who feels she was in on it thanks to his Genius, decides it was a set play because her reaction was too fake.Kathy decides to one-up Matt. 'His wife has something? I'm going to get something!' Namely, leukemia, a potential side effect of her chemotherapy. (This may be possible. I don't know enough about her procedure to say.)
Andrew is told his speech didn't work. He's surprised. Wasn't he the Best Actor Ever?
Kristen talks to Kathy. Kathy talks to Kristen. Andrew gets mad about this. Screaming fight follows. Andrew wants to know why no one talks to him. Kristen feels it's because he talks to no one. More screaming follows, which does not qualify as 'talking'.
The Meow2 wonder if it would be more fun to keep Andrew just to see if this happens again.

I think we can rule Andrew out for Revive-A-Hamster, since Chenbot told Andrew that the disease that Matt claims his wife has is real but she doesn't really have it.... That info could be used as blackmail material... just like the 'secret' showmance could've been....

Very classy farewell from Hayden, BTW -- both in recording and live. After that speech, I was surprised to see Andrew get as many handshakes as he did. (No idea what he passed to Rachel on the way out.)

I was impressed by Hayden myself. What meltdown for Andrew! At least, he forced Kristen out of her shell. Maybe we'll see some life from her now but it may be too litlle too late if Rachel nominates her.
Haven't they learned yet that, this season, everyone votes on the one that doesn't handle being on the block too well. Strange, for me, those people would be good to keep around and wait until they meltdown under the end-game pressure.
"Julie asks a good question."
Posted by Estee on 07-29-10 at 08:45 PM
It had to happen eventually... The question: why didn't Andrew use his knowledge of the Hayden/Kristen connection to blackmail them for votes? Answer: he didn't think of it. Very weird goodbye message from Rachel. So now Andrew is coming between her and her man? Did anyone in this house pass the psych test?
And Andrew now has information which will keep him out of the cage: Julie told him the truth about Matt's Disease Of The Week. So while he may enter sequester with the other two, I doubt we'll see him return.
He's arguably better off that way.

Big Brother KnockoutFacts about the competitions so far, buzz-in to answer. Get it right to KO your opponent and then pick the next two players
Hayden/Britney: Stay/Fold. Hayden picks POV and is right
Brendon/Rachel: Crawl through caramel pool: Rachel correctly picks H/HN
Kristen/Hayden: BB Mustard. HoH is right for Kristen
Kathy/Rachel: Wall and tape. Kathy picks POV and is wrong.
Kristen/Enzo: Drop briefcase. Kristen is right with the POV.
Rachel/Ragan: Majority. Rachel is still alive with HoH
Kristen/Lane: Spell longest word. Lane is right with the POV.
Lane/Rachel: Flying above giant grill. HoH is right, Rachel is our first repeat HoH!
Pandora's Box returns, and a new Saboteur could be released via America's Choice. New Saboteur offer: Survive 2 weeks for $20k.
"RE: HoH Competition"
Posted by Estee on 07-29-10 at 09:09 PM
Other than 'can this show get any cheaper?', the question becomes '20k -- and then what?' Remember, the original Stabo wasn't allowed to win the half-million -- fate after completing their term unknown, but the jackpot was off the table. Would anyone here trade their chance for twenty thousand at this stage of the game? And if it's Pandora's Box, what's the choice? Revive-A-Hamster or get a brand new Stabo?
Too many questions -- and with this show, any answer at all is too much to hope for.

You had to know that Brendon & Rachel would be faced off against each other as soon as possible, with the survivor put back up until they dropped. There's just one problem with this strategy: sometimes the target doesn't fall down on cue...Welcome to Week Four: Things That Get Between Rachel And Her Man. (Better hope that doesn't mean you.)

Rachel had a good strategy in the POV where she covered Monet's bid. She knew that she had to do the opposite of Brendon in the "Stay/Fold" game and now she had all the answers. Not bad for a bimbo. Janelle v2.0?
"RE: Big Brother 12 ECST Week 3: Endure Surf for HoH"
Posted by Estee on 07-29-10 at 09:24 PM
Rachel is not a bimbo. She's emotionally unbalanced, socially inept, potential stalker material, and frequently clueless enough to challenge Alicia Silverstone. But she's not a bimbo. At this point, you might actually get a few bets on 'nerd'.

Bimbo was probably the first impression she made on the house though.

Posted by Estee on 07-29-10 at 09:38 PM
It sounds like Rachel just went off on Kristen in a major way -- but at a time when no one could hear it. (During the post-Andrew argument? The pause between HoH and feeds coming back?) Hayden & Kristen are now convinced they're screwed. From the sound of things, Kristen openly told Rachel she was going after the original showmance. (I think we can consider that F4 dead.) Rachel and Hayden are currently talking, with Rachel telling Hayden that Kristen made a point of putting her up over and over again in the HoH. She also seems to be trying to get Hayden away from Kristen, presumably because he's not coming between her and her man.

People were also convinced that Andrew was with Brendon and Rachel (mostly by Andrew), so some may have seen his mass outing and bulk grenade tosses as something those two wanted to happen -- and a lot of those explosions landed in Kristen's bunker.

Kristen just cost her and probably Hayden the game. To deny the relationship. There is no way now that they can hide it and it will come out and Kristen will be exposed as a liar. Plus you know Hayden will come clean with the Brigade. Kristen is history. Hayden may have to vote her out now...to stay with the brigade.
