Several times in the past few weeks, I have noticed the little red flag that waves to tell you there is a new message in your inbox. However, when I go to my inbox I see only old messages. Is this just a fluke, or have I started doing something wrong? Can you tell if I have missed messages?

Whenever you have to log in again ( or if you log out and then back in) The inbox message flag resets, even if the same messages are there. As long as you have messages stored there flag will wave. Why it is a good idea to check that box every so often ( I tend to forget). But I am pretty sure you didn't miss any messages, they will stay there til you delete them.
