about the meaning of an "Official" thread? In my view by custom "Official" threads are typically summary threads written by folks designated by a blue peep to write the summary. But I have seen more and more "official" threads of various kinds popping up. And I was wondering if they are illegal or just annoying.

Perhaps an example would help give us a basis for an opinion/answer.

At 202 posts, what would I know of "official", but I'll give it a shot.

There are a number of cases where designated posters are in charge of official threads. If you think someone is posting something that they shouldn't be, or claiming that they are acting in an official capacity when they are not, then just let a mod know.

Please abide in my words, for my references speak of the truth that is within me.
