"Important TAR Casino Game announcement"

Hey everyone, I wanted to give everyone on the TAR Casino Game. I was kind of alluding to this in the finale thread from last season, but I feel like it would be wrong to follow up this season.

After 20 seasons of hosting the TAR Casino Game, I'm retiring from running it. After what has happened to this website before this past season, combined with the remarkably lackluster previous season, it has drained a lot of my passion for continuing to run this game. I have had a lot of changes in my life over the past 8-9 years of running this game (just turned 30 yesterday!)... And because of this, I have a lot of new responsibilities as well, so I just don't have enough time to dedicate to running this game anymore. I'm sure you guys have noticed how much I recycle the same bonus games, year after year. It was beginning to get difficult to schedule that extra hour of TAR work each week.

Don't get me wrong, I definitely enjoyed hosting this game and cherished being able to play this along with you guys. You guys were the main reason I stuck with this for so many seasons. But I think this is a good time for me to hang up the gloves and move on.

A big thanks to all of you who participated, as well as the several of you (like tribephyl, who made banners over the years.

That being said, if anyone would like to take over the reins and continue to host, feel free to volunteer. I know a lot of us enjoy playing this game, so it would be kind of a shame for it to disappear with my retirement. I would probably still play if someone wanted to host it. Who knows, maybe someone else would bring a lot of new ideas to the game?

Well, that's it for me. Let us know if anyone wants to host or has any questions about hosting and I'll be sure to answer them.

Jims out.

sad how time marches on and things must change. This site was something back in the dayt. I'll miss your casino. Truthfully, I rarely opened the thread because it usually spoiled the show (so many players used spoilers) but it was a constant that I was glad to see every week.

Wonder if anyone will be here but me this season?

I'm sorry to hear this Jims, I always enjoyed the casino, and looked forward to all of your "recycled" games, although I don't think I ever got a PAT or Millionaire bonus right.

Thanks for all the hard work you have put in, and all the fun you have given us over the years.

I know I've gotten a few PAT wagers right, but I have got to be a net loser on those bets. They seem like they should be easier than they actually are.

Thank you, Jims. I hope you know that all you've done in The Casino has truly been appreciated.

And FWIW ...

In every Season I've played, I've always tabulated the evening's scores immediately after TAR's East Coast conclusion, anyway. So, although I would be hopeless at the other aspects of hosting The Casino, I would certainly be willing to continue doing that (and to post the results each Friday evening/early Saturday morning) if someone else is willing to handle 'the creative' ...

...but I completely understand.

It's a sad day for sure and a sad time in the history of this board but I know for sure that TAR Casino was definitely a highlight for many many many DAWS throughout the years.
Thank you for all you did.
And from a fellow host, I was consistently amazed at how out of the box thinking a large contingent of your bonus games were, jealous really.
Great Job!
Thanks for your dedication!
Now, go get a beer!

Oh! and Happy Belated Birthday! Wow! i remember you as a young college-age whippersnapper. Glad to have called you a friend for all these years...dare I say OLD friend?

Thank You Jims for a fun and fantastic run. I didn't play last year due to the website saying my password was in correct and I tried everything to get in contact and they wouldn't fix it. So I had to use my work email to get into the website. This is probably my last post unless someone takes over the Casino Game. But I do agree with the website.

Again Thank you for taking time out your life to host a game for a show that we all live. We all appreciate it. Have a beer and sit back and relax and watch the show with out any stress.

Thanks for everything you did. I only participated a couple of times, but enjoyed the thread. I can't believe you're 30!

Sad to see it go, but we all have to move on some time.

Thanks for all the fun times! Your casino games were great!

And yes, I was coming in 1 week late again. It's apparently what I do.

I want to say that you did a great job over the years, Jims. Your game was a lot of fun and it kept me watching TAR for a few seasons simply because I wanted to make "money" in the casino.

It's sad what happened to this site but I wish you the best.

Thank you for hours of fun.
