Oh, Japan
I have kinda mixed feeling on the Japan leg. While I really love seeing them visit Japan, the show seems to be obsessed with highlighting the wacky angle of Japanese culture, so you never really see much earnestness in these episodes. I guess doing the wacky Japanese game shows is good TV, I suppose, but they really love going back to that well.
Finale Results

Even in this final week, we managed to have no one knocked out of the game! Truly this final group of players are our Elite Eight. Good job you guys!
The correct answer to the bonus game was Tim/Marie, being one of the first words out of Tim's mouth. Although, honestly, maybe he should've said $400K instead...

The Perfect Bet Award also goes to bbenzenberg (2.35x), making a really great Jason/Amy wager with a correct bonus bet. It's hard to get more perfect than that.

In the end, it was Yogi who crossed the finish line first, becoming the TAR23 Casino Game Champion, with louislam finishing with the silver medal, and Ontheroadagain grabbing the bronze.
This was a pretty interesting season overall, in terms of how it shook out. The early weeks were a bit of a Wild West, with a different leader every single week: taffnic, then bbenzenberg, then sarah1234, then Jims02. Then, the Booster bonus game kicked in and the Week 6 Apocalypse happened. Two things happened, about half of the field got knocked out, and louislam jumped into the top of the leaderboard. louislam sat atop of the leaderboard for the following 4 weeks, while both Yogi and Ontheroadagain hung in there around the Top 5. In fact, both Yogi and Ontheroadagain managed a Top 10 finish every single week, which is very impressive. One of the biggest moves happened last week, however, when Yogi made a daring 4x mega-bet on Jason/Amy, vaulting him into the lead the final week. An All-In wager on Jason/Amy in this final week sealed the victory for him.
Honestly, though, like I said before about the "Elite 8"... This was such a volatile season, that just making it to the finish means you played a great game. Congrats to everyone!

As always, I want to thank everyone for participating in this game, making for yet another fun season of gaming. I admit, after being knocked out in Week 7, watching the final few weeks didn't pack as much punch, without having a real rooting interest. After so many years of playing, you get accustomed to playing Fantasy TAR Games in the background.
Next season will be another All-Stars game, so we will reconvene in the winter and get back to it. In the meantime, go make snow forts or something.

Here's a note to fellow players: check out spoilers on the Reality Fan Forums! That's what led me to avoid placing any money on Brandon & Adam when they fell from first to last! Oh, and Jims02, Tim grew on me over the course of the season as well. Marie, not so much but she did have that one moment where I felt sorry for her! Thanks for the casino game! For the first time in eons, I won our mini-challenge beating Sarah1234 in the last leg. The gnome trophy is mine! See you next season!
Thanks again - Yogi Nice job winning the Casino game. Again. A big congrats to Yogi though!! I think Jims may need to limit the booster next time to keep people alive for longer lol The Amazing Race Fan from Hong Kong!
I have an idea...add a bit of Survivor in the game. Have a Redemption Island of some sorts for people who lose all their points. Haha
And thanks as always to Jims, the Casino mastermind. BTW, why do you never do any of the bonus games on the early entries in a season?
I hate to say it, but Tim & Marie actually grew on me over the course of the season...

Well, I didn't win -- not that I expected to -- but I managed to avoid the Apocalypse in Week 6 and make it to the end! And better yet, I managed to come in 4th for my highest rank ever!

Tough season in the Casino Jims. Just lucky Louislam didn't put the 'peddle to the metal' and take off on all of us.
Kudos to all the survivors as Evil Jims '2x Booster' was hard to resist most weeks.

Thanks Jims for running the casino this season!! It's been my favourite game with the show all these years~~ Too bad that I didn't manage to take champion this season, the bets on Leg 9 really backfired on me which could not be recovered...

That sounds fun. Like he could have a side bet with bonus for the eliminators who could have a chance to get back in the game with the highest score.

Thanks for another fantastic season. Can't wait for next season. I'm still in school so I'm hoping to do the same thing as I did this season if you will be willing to help again. Thanks again Jims. Wouldn't miss this game for anything.
