"Survivor #15 Episode #10 East Coast Spoiler Thread"

Please keep all sigpic-free discussion about the biggest misplay based around an active idol (or two) since Angela Mistedge and Stacy Kimball on this thread until three hours after the episode finishes airing on the East Coast, by which time James will be learning just how fast he can dig his own grave using two dead tiles as shovels. It's not a landmine, quote-man, it's a hand grenade -- and it doesn't do anything unless someone pulls the pin...Oh, and it's been three weeks of the exact same post-Council teasers. Does anyone remember where we parked?
You know the worst part? James actually has a spare.

wow! is it common knowledge that red envelopes contain cash in China? I didn't know
isn't that a big temptation to thieves?

Usually they are for hand delivery. They usually have some chinese scene printed on them with gold decoration. They wouldn't be good for mailing by themselves (they would fit inside a card). You can get them at any Asian market, especially around Chinese New Years. Giving kids money in the red envelope is really traditional. We always pass out red envelopes with a few coins in them to all the kids that come to my T'ai Chi school's Chinese New Year party.

James is thinking about frolicking nude to F4.Amanda is thinking about a possible flip, not liking the possibility of sitting next to Todd, James, or Courtney at F3. (Who wouldn't want to be next to Courtney?)
But that doesn't matter, because a lot of people are stuck on the whole 'James frolicking nude' thing.

PG tries to get Denise to flip as a precursor to getting a fourth: Denise just tells Todd. Erik tries to get James: James doesn't see the benefit. The editing is playing up the solidity of the alliance a little strongly tonight.Oh, and for everyone who's been sitting Denise out every chance they got, guess what? She's a potential challenge force. Going for her black belt? Raise your hand if you saw that coming -- right. Liars. Put 'em back down.

Star tossing Round 1PG 0
Todd 3
Eric 6
Courtney 6
(tossing all those daggers with her eyes came in handy)
James 6
Amanda 6
Denise 2, bounces the last star off the heart.
10 feet further away for Round Two
Courney 0
Amanda 2
Eric 3
James 0
Eric wins Immunity

Geez James, the game WAS NOT who could throw the stars the hardest. This WAS NOT baseball!
"Here's the pitch..."
Posted by Estee on 11-29-07 at 08:53 PM
Amanda decides it's now or never for backstabbing James, and that means getting some people to agree with her. Courtney's on board and PG & Erik should be happy for anyone who isn't them, so it comes down to whether James wins Immunity... and he doesn't. Raw strength doesn't always work with shuriken: you need technique, and Eric locks up Day 33. (Courtney's arms do not break from lifting the shuriken. Barely)James is now vulnerable -- but does he know it? He's entirely too confident in his allies...

If it's true that Amanda is going to be on All-Stars II, then I wonder how much power she'll have over James: "Okay James, if you don't want me to humiliate you in front of all these other All-Stars, then you're gonna be my b!tch and gotta do what I say the entire game. Capisce?"The other All-Stars won't have seen this juicy tidbit, so it'll be interesting to see how much whipping Amanda will get to do.

Posted by Estee on 11-29-07 at 09:11 PM
Wonder if Todd's figured that out yet?Credit to Peih-Gee for trying to play the bounce correctly, even if Erik screwed it up -- James playing the idol would have put her in a tiebreaker with Todd.
And a little credit to James for taking the non-bitter position. For gameplay -- feh. Sheesh. On a night of fictional invocation, James decides to borrow part of Phillip's exit speech...

Amanda Erik PG for Todd...Erik gets it this time...wtf..he still thought he'd have an in with the FL's by not voting for Todd how stupid...what PG really should have done is try to convince james before TC of Amanda's plan and then gotten Erik more on board....but James was such an idiot...Denise just laid it out for him with the "YOu trust no one...you think your safe until 4 people say you are not" Did she have to write it on her forehead.
Courtney and Todd for Erik
Denise likes Todd see her telling him right away...she'll stick with him and Erik gets the boot. I don't think PG wins IC I think they are afraid of Eric winning any more so they go after him when they can.
Actually the more I watch, the more I think Todd may actually have a better chance to win this and the more I like Denise...she's still not a "playa" but she is an interesting and very nice person.
Todd imho has Denise and Jaime's vote...and I really think he has James. Will Todd play up that Amanda was the catalyst behind the vote to oust him at final tc? All he needs is one more...
Amanda only has JR's for sure and probably's PGs. It comes down to Frosti and Erik...did they show the bonding on the boat with the goats to hint that their votes may both go her way?
"RE: So long, Denise?"
Posted by CattyChat on 11-30-07 at 10:51 AM
"Actually the more I watch, the more I think Todd may actually have a better chance to win this . . . "I've been pulling for him since the beginning. I think all of the tell-tale signs are there that he is generally well-liked and trusted. Everyone gives Todd all the scoop. Personally, I'll be disappointed if he loses, even though Amanda is one of my faves (as well as James, stupid move and everything).
"Will Todd play up that Amanda was the catalyst behind the vote to oust him at final tc?"
IMO, Amanda can't take all the credit, since Todd initially came up with this idea way back when about blindsiding James and Amanda freaked out at that time. Then there were bigger fish to fry (Jean-Robert) than "in-the-pocket" James.
Now, maybe Amanda finally realized this was the perfect time for a blindside, but she really shouldn't take the credit of thinking up this "master plan." Also, I give Todd credit, as he was the one with everything to lose if James did actually play one of those idols. Todd really took a giant gamble and it paid off in spades. IMO, Todd has a great argument at final TC to counter anything that Amanda may have appeared to have done, up through now.
If Amanda is able to pull off voting Todd out next week, then I will give Amanda props for brilliant game play. Until then, I still see Amanda as Todd's "second-in-command." Todd still is the one pulling all the strings in the game.
"RE: So long, Denise?"
Posted by Estee on 11-30-07 at 11:14 AM
But even if Amanda has just been playing at Grand Vizier, leaving Todd out there to take the blame for everything (and the resulting offense to jury members) is a sound strategy -- at least until she takes open control.
"RE: Survivor #15 Episode #10 East Coast Spoiler Thread"

For those who thought that Todd was the game player you have just seen a glimpse of the person who will soon be controlling the game. You can write her the check now EPM. Do you know how to spell Amanda? Peih-Gee take a bow you set the trap well and the wolf had no idea he was going to fall into it. On the whole one of the very best Survivor episodes ever.

Posted by smokedog on 11-29-07 at 09:54 PM
Big ups for her play tonight. She was a virtual non-entity (other than her butt) for the entire game and now she is gunning for the top. She is going to be remembered for this for a long time. I definitely respect her game now. Hopefully, she doesn't let up.
"RE: Amanda's emergence"
Posted by Jims02 on 11-29-07 at 11:11 PM
I agree. I was a little like, "Where'd she come from all of a sudden?" Although, if we all remember correctly, she was the one who convinced Todd to stay the course a few weeks ago when he started getting antsy... And that's what the group ended up doing.I wouldn't at all mind seeing Amanda win this thing. She's like a less annoying version of Todd.
"RE: Amanda's emergence"

Which begs the question as to how you could have a more annoying version of Todd.
"RE: Amanda's emergence"

No way you could have a more annoying version of Todd. He's an arrogant jerk. If that son of a shar pei makes the final, I hope the jury has a couple good rat and snake speeches ready for him, and I hope somebody has the brass nuts to call him an @$$hole at the finale, becaue an @$$hole he is.
