Oh, finally. If I have to be the sane, rational calming influence for eleven more minutes, I'm gonna lose it. Shane, be my inspiration...

"Tribal Council"
Posted by kathliam on 04-06-06 at 08:49 PM
First jury member tonight?

Aras admits worked with women during reward challenge to help beat men's team. Austin describes his time on Exile Island. Danielle says she and Austin had great bonding experience.

Cirie thinks tribe gets along well until day of Tribal Council. Courtney says anyone who is playing the game is thinking ahead. Shane says immunity idol could pop up at any time. Danielle votes on her gut. Bruce realizes he could be set up for a fall. Shane stunned if two of his group would flop to switch the numbers.

Terry will not give up the immunity necklace. Austin votes for Aras. Cirie votes. Aras votes. Courtney votes. Terry votes for Aras. Sally votes. Danielle votes. Bruce votes.

Jiffy will read the votes. First vote, Aras, Aras, Austin, Aras, Austin, Austin (tied), Austin, Austin. Austin is voted out and first member of the jury. He hesitates as if he has the idol, but takes his torch to Jiffy to be snuffed.

In other news, Austin just realized he's an idiot.

Austin and Terry feel great. Courtney c-t's about Austin admitting at TC that he tanked the immunity challenge. He at least realizes that it was STUPID to do this. Aras and Courtney realize Austin is a slime ball (while they are farming snails ).

Terry and sally discuss pulling one or two of the other women to his side.

Tree mail. 'Skills an win a boat race, and making tough decisions takes some guts. But in political battles, you'll always deal with nuts'. Shane looks less than enthused.

Y'know, there was a minute there when I really thought I was the last person watching this show.

Oh, great. Thrilling play-by-play calls on people trying to carry coconuts. Sell it, Jeff. Sell it to someone else...

My wife and I were both wondering which was bigger ... the coconuts that Danielle were attempting to carry or the permanent coconuts she already has?

Oh, no! Austin's too physically weak to survive a night on Exile Island! Cue the medivac boat!

I'm here. Just got back home from grocery shopping. So commentary will be limited for the actual episode.

Interesting that Aras revealed some of his athleticism and wit in the challenge directing traffic toward the Austin, Terry, and Shane mini-tribe.

Ain't it a shame that the "breakfast in bed" got soaked due to the rainstorm?

Sally doesn't care that she's wet in a bed with two strange men.

Well, if her family hadn't cast her out just for the divorce, that would have done it.

Y'know, I'm waiting for the day when a group of RC winners turn to each other before heading back and say 'Okay, we're all agreed. The food sucked and we couldn't even stomach one bite. Let's go tell that story for half an hour.' The bed got them close... why not play up the misery even more?

And Cirie? You still have reserves. Some of the others are starting to run on empty.

"Reward challenge"
Posted by kathliam on 04-06-06 at 08:11 PM
Divide into three teams. Each team has 1 boat and 100 coconuts. On Jiffy's go, they will race to put their coconuts from the each into boats of other two teams. They will be doing the same. Once rid of all coconuts, paddle out to retrieve flag and fishing net. Make was back to shore, use net to carry coconuts in boat onto beach and into bin. Winning group will be taken by boat to a bed a breakfast and will decide who goes to Exile Island.

Random teams. Shane, Terry, Austin. Bruce, Aras, Sally. Danielle, Cirie, Courtney.

Little testosterone-laden, isn't team one, huh? Everyone loading up the men-only team boat. Opposing teams talking to work together.

T/A/S heading out. B/A/S close behind. Girls far behind. B/A/S have flag and net. T/S/A have flag and net. Girls so far behind they aren't a factor.

Both teams reach beach near the same time. Working on putting coconuts in net to carry to beach. I saw a blur!! B/A/S have all coconuts in their net. T/A/S have to make a second trip. B/A/S get coconuts to beach but Sally runs back to retrieve flag. Sally gets flag to beach before guys unload their coconuts.

B/A/S must send one person from each team to EI. They choose Austin and Danielle.

I love how he can say this with absolutely no shame.

But if Markie-Mark is stealing from himself, then who's he gonna sue?

"Reward "
Posted by kathliam on 04-06-06 at 08:22 PM
It's raining at day 20 at Gitanos. A coconut is floating along a river in front of the shelter.

Finally, the boat arrives, and Bruce, Aras and Sally depart for their breakfast and bed. They are taken to a sand bar with a bed sitting in the middle, meanwhile it's pouring rain. They are brought a tray of pastires and juice. Coffee. Butter and jelly. Bacon. Fruit. Champagne. Sally tells us it's the best meal she's ever had.

Back at camp, Terry putting water in an old champagne bottle and telling Shane Danielle and Austin probably hating life on EI. Trying to work Shane on who will be F4. Terry still thinks he is in control of the game!! B/A/S return from their reward. Cirie is drooling from their descriptions of the food they were offered. Bruce rubbing Sally's belly. Cirie wants to win something.

Night 20: it's still raining, raining hard.

Morning on EI, Danielle and Austin under a blanket, they are miserable. They bond, Austin proud how Danielle stands strong during the miserable conditions. She's considering that Austin would be a backup for her.

"Back at camp..."

Sally talking to Terry, wonders what will happen if Austin or Danielle find the Idol. Terry tells her he has it. She's thrilled to hear it, the whole game changes.

'Danielle falling out of it!'

Yes, Jeff. We all saw the blur. Thank you.

"Immunity Challenge"
Posted by kathliam on 04-06-06 at 08:34 PM
Austin and Danielle join the tribe. Terry gives Jiffy the IN.

Challenge: race through series of obstacles. Work on four stages. First stage; race to dig through sand under a wooden fence, first 6 to finish move on. Second phase, finish brain teaser, four written clues, up a sand hill, through the maze, first three move one. Third phase, work way over rope bridge, reach end of bridge, jump into water, first two move on. Last phase, vertical and horizontal tunnels and towers, first to complete wins immunity.

Phase one winners: Sally, Danielle (with blur), Courtney, Terry, Shane, and Austin.

Phase two winners: they must moves rocks to proper positions. Austin moves one, Sally moves on, Terry, Danielle, Courtney, Shane. They must move through net and over a hill. Austin, Sally, and Terry continue.

Phase three: Sally a little ahead, Terry cloase behind, Austin far behind. Sally first in water, Terry first over the hill. Sally and Terry continue.

Last Phase. Terry has a little lead. Terry gains a lead. Terry moving. Sally slithers through the hole, Terry wins immunity.

(dumba$$, why is he making himself such a target?)

"Interesting..."
Posted by Estee on 04-06-06 at 08:37 PM
Aras is voting based on a fear of the rebound. He's afraid of someone pulling out the mini-idol and bouncing him with the minority vote, so he wants to vote for Sally, who he's convinced doesn't have it. It's not as if Terry would give it away. Only Terry stands ready to give it away.

You kind of have to wonder what makes Terry think anyone would ever give it back.

"Pre-Tribal Council Camp Discussion"
Posted by kathliam on 04-06-06 at 08:42 PM
Austin sure he's leaving since Terry won immunity. He tells Austin he has the individual Idol, he will give Danielle the idol if she and Bruce will swing to their side (why would they, they are on the numbers side.)

Terry working again on Bruce to swing over to their side, guaranteeing him Final 5 (big friggin' deal, right? he has at least that with his current alliance.)

Aras pulls his alliance together, wants to vote for Sally, sure Terry has idol and thinks he can force Terry to give up the idol. Courtney and Aras arguing, Cirie trying to play peacemaker. Trying to work the numbers, Courtney sure the guys are trying to vote off the women.

Lots of talk. Jibber jabber, trying to swing votes. Austin tells Danielle Terry has idol and will give to Danielle. Maybe she can transform the game. Casaya is divided on the vote, which way will it go?

Shane displays his chafed area to the entire world. Said area is located in the blur zone.

I'm going to go out on a limb and predict the first-ever empty set Survivor ECST.

"Disappointed "
Posted by moonbaby on 04-06-06 at 10:11 PM
that there was no big shake up in the game. I want something to happen! I want a tribal council where jaws drop and everyone says "NO WAY!" I want Jiffy to laugh his butt off at some last minute scramble. I reeeeally wanted Terry to give the shrinky dink of immunity to Austin when I saw how things were being played out but he just let him go get snuffed! Wah.

This season has been nothing but a let down for me. I'm so fed up with it. I almost find myself not wanting to watch anymore just because it's so boring. I don't get what Terry's plan is either. Last week he wasted his chance to save the game, and this week he let it fall even further away. What the heck is on that guy's mind?

"RE: Disappointed "

long time lurker (since season 2) many thanks to all your spoilers.

i post due to the fact that i felt there is a need to defend Terry's action.

He has been winning IC and must be sure he can win again.

He has the HII with him (no one will be soooo big to give it up). so it means he can afford not to win IC at least once.

If he win IC again next week and sally got ship out. he is actually in a fantastic position to get into new alliances since the casaya 6 will try to vote ecah other out. we saw in several occassion in survivor history that sole survivor of the minority is able to end up winning it.

"The only thing....."
Posted by Jaxxjack on 04-07-06 at 11:42 AM
that can save this season, IMHO, is if Terry wins the next two IC's, thereby forcing the pack of dogs (known as Casaya) to set against each other. Bruce claims that he trusts Terry, says "he's a man of his word", then blindly goes along with Casaya. Danielle passes up the opportunity to get the HII, and refuses it!! How stupid can you be?

It's turning into the same old, same old. After merge, small tribe gets picked off one by one. Yawn.

"RE: The only thing....."

I'm glad i'm not the only one yawning this season (and several of the past seasons also).

The whole process of two tribes, going to one at the merge, and then the pagonging starts from the larger tribe.

As an outsider sitting in my comfortable couch watching, i'm shocked that every season the same crap happens. Why do these silly lemmings stick with their "tribe" after the merge?

Its a different game, its an individual game, i'm waiting each season for something new to happen post-merge, and it seems as if it never does.

I kept hoping that Courtney would bring something fresh to this game, or even Bruce or Cirie, but they're proving the don't have guts either. I thought the vote last night could be a shocker, but i was let down.

Jiffy kept saying that America would LOVE the characters this season, but so far i'm actually not loving them.

Come on, MB, you need to shake up the post-merge antics next season.
