"Jeaneete & Melissa... did they fall overboard?"
Posted by SurvivorBlows on 09-26-01 at 00:18 AM
Damn, this editing is even worse than The Not So Amazing Race -- did anyone even see these two in the show? And did Andrea get to say anything?
Maybe they were with Greg -- out in a dinky trailing after the yacht.

it's nearly impossible to set up the show concept, introduce and get to know 16 people, get through cabin pairings, do the booth questions and hot seat, and tell a cohesive story that made sense on why the first 2 got voted off - all in 1 hour. Greg, Mel and Jeanette had their screen time cut way, way, way down in this first show but they will definitely have their day. Greg, in fact, had some juicy moments in the first show that the network made us cut.

Who the hell is Melissa? Andrea? I think we got to see her briefly when Adrian complained about her. And Jeanette appeared long enough to say Adrian was her vote, period--and then again when he gave her the smackdown at the final vote.Man--that guy's GOT to go next, doesn't he? The Switch can't save him next show! (although some of the other guys are quickly building their own stable of detractors. . .)
A lot of the guys were similarly invisible tonight. I agree, the editing makes Survivor look absolutely brilliant. . . and at this point, I have to wonder how far ahead those previews are actually taking us! Seems like more than half of last night's previews failed to materialize. (Damn--and I bet Monkeyboy was really looking forward to his teevee debut, too!)

Yeah! What he said!Who's idea was it to put 3 Toni's on this show? I think part of the reason that they are introducing them slowly is that it would be too damn confusing otherwise. AND nobody has an interesting thought in their head other than Mike and perhaps Anthony.
Melissa is my favourite girl so far though (from what we have seen of her). She has that adorable "couldn't hurt a fly" face.

I agree, Melissa seemed cute and sweet enough (and certainly one of the more attractive girls IMHO) -- but then she revealed last night that despite having a boyfriend she went on the cruise -- what's up with that??? I can't believe no one else has bothered mentioning that yet... is this a "we've been seeing each other a few weeks" thing, or some long-time relationship? I thought this WAS NOT Temptation Island???

Melissa isn't just adorable... she's H.O.T.!!! You'll be seeing more of her later (literally).About the editorial cuts that were made... There are tons. If there could ever be a directors cut of this series for DVD it could be an entirely different show. Don't blame Bunim-Murray... blame "network standards". Earlier versions of the first episode include a very racy round of "SEXY DICE" that the cast played one evening. One of the die has actions like: kiss, lick, suck, touch, etc. on it and the other die has body parts: neck, hands, chest, etc. Add a little liquor and watch out. You'll have to ask Shakes more about this... I think he got some that night. There are some other really nice scenes, moments, and stories that were either cut due to time, story structure, or for taste (poor taste on the part of Ralph most of the time - he is totally hysterical). If you aren't already hooked - and this is no B.S. (balls of shame for you who don't already know) - the episodes get crazier and crazier as the series goes on. Enjoy.

Hi ya, Kidhell,The kind of scenes of "Sexy Dice" were what I was hoping this show would NOT BE!! But then I never watched Temptation Island cause there is enough "porn" on Showtime.
Shakes indicated you knew of where you speak so I'll take him at his word --- although, heaven knows I've done that in the past much to my regret. LOL.
I agree, and posted on another thread, I think MELISSA is the probable "catch" among the females. She may be the youngest (24) but she doesn't project a "jaded" attitude in her actions/reactions to men.
What I'm really itching to know is WHY did Michael select JEANETTE in E-2??? I want the full details!!!

...I definitely believe there was some strategy here.
But the strategy might have been as simple as he figured it was a good way to reduce his chances of another rejection -- let's face it, none of the guys have yet been shown to be entranced by Jeanette, and given, at the time, Tony's emerging attraction to Laura, it was probably pretty clear that Tony wasn't going to re-up with her.
The odds of someone else picking her and Michael facing another rejection were probably pretty low... Jeanette was a safe choice for Michael.

I'm interested in seeing the relationships, not "game sex." (Yawn.) I like seeing how people react to each other in various situations, but seeing a bunk of drunk frat-party antics where people are being instructed what to do would be really silly.
