This is absolutely the last time I'm doing this, I really mean it this time!

Okay: This is a voting thread not a TTL, post your pick for the next Bootie in your Subject Line.

Do it however many times you need to in order to get it right!

Don't forget to get those books back to the library before they become overdue!

Read the list of chores and get something done for chrisakes!

And mind your p's and q's you just never know who might be looking over your shoulder.

"Tie-breaker"
Posted by Outfrontgirl on 07-01-01 at 03:50 AM
Just a thought--would anyone have been able to discover the previous votes cast on the opposite tribe, when no one in the last episode's tiebreaker had a clue?

I wonder if Ice Cat and Sleeeve have set to work spoiling and calculating this crucial data for their respective tribes. Or have they formed an inter-tribal alliance of, well, I was going to say geeks, but Ice Cat has denied being a geek (whereas Sleeeve asserted he was a geek, but not a nerd in a previous post). Anyway a spoiler computer code guy mini-inter-tribal alliance thing.

Or will they fall for the old trick of voting for someone with no prior votes just because they are strong (as if that had anything to do with it)?

Do these players even want to ally along tribal lines? They may dislike each other so much they'll rush to the other tribe looking for new friends.

Not voting yet. Waiting for a spoiler from HawkEye. When is Ep 7 getting posted? Why hasn't Kismet hijacked this thread yet?

Sorry, I watched a special on Andy Kaufman on Cemedy Central last night. I now have the Might Mouse song in my head. (And ten to one so do you now LOL!!) Don't you old guys just love him? I sometimes wish I was older just so that I could appreciate the early comic genius of people like him and the early SNL skits.

Today is Happy Canada day so therefore RR will be voted off. Count on Canada to be to the point. No real reason for the holiday just Be Happy!

Kismet

P.S. If this doesn't work I give up. I know AyaK can't resist talking about early comedic talent, and Ice Cat will be forced to defend Canada!

"Canada Day"
Posted by Drive My Car on 07-02-01 at 11:32 AM
I think the only reason for Canada day is the The Canadians were just jealous of our wonderful Independance Day celebrations. They just had to copy us. That's how they are. They saw our fireworks and food and wanted some of their own.
Why didn't they just have a Tennis Match like England does? That Wimpelton crap. And why is that Wimpleton crap always on 4th of July week?

OK, OFG embarassed me into responding. I have to admit, seeing Andy Kaufman on SNL for the first time was an experience. My favorite moment, though, came AFTER he had made several appearances and done many fake impressions in the voice that he later gave to Latka, when he said he was now going to do his impression of Elvis Presley --- and then did a REAL impression of Elvis, right down to the gold lame suit. People talked about it all week, because it was both so unexpected and so good. To me, that was a signature moments. More frequently, he achieved one of these (either unexpected or good) at the cost of the other.

His role in "Taxi" gave him financial security, but it was a huge mistake. He simply didn't have the self-confidence to outshine either Danny DeVito or (later) Christopher Lloyd. I think that contributed mightily to the emergence of the Tony Clifton personality.

I didn't see the Jim Carrey movie, although I own REM's song (no surprise there, I own almost all REM songs) -- I've tried to keep my "real" memories from being supplanted by "movie" memories.

Heeeey, wait a minute! What is this "not a vote" stuff? You know the rules, Aya! If it's in your subject heading, that's a vote, Big Guy! So then - don't forget to add one vote for Andy Kaufman when you do your final total! Maybe ICB can work him into the summary before he posts it!

Or Schick or Dangerkitty. . . (They both need an alliance, I can't see it working, and whoever goes first will surely be followed by the other.) Sorry girls!

See my rationale on the Ep. 7 preview thread (duh--I got the threads confused. . .). I think we need another AA to go down, to make the numbers more even for the merge.

Wha??? It's five to five going into the merge as it is, whuchou mean? Is le pew going to be replaced by another volunteer because it didn't count? This game just gets weirder and weirder I swear!

Oh, I get it, fives are odds, you want one of them an even going into the merge. Okay, that makes sense I suppose.

Posted by Survivorerist on 07-01-01 at 04:08 PM
Let's think about this logically (although I am talking about Blowsvivor, I think I'll give it a shot). AA's will form an alliance. BB's will form an alliance. But the AA's know I always vote for myself. So my prediction is that I'll take six votes and be gone.

Alternate: Chicken-Fried Chicken. There's nothing like it.

Ahem, Surv, you voted for yourself in Ep 1. Period. When you had complete immunity. And how would the AA's know that, since they weren't at the TC? Have you leaked your strategy to them? I think you're trying to beguile the AA's with your self-vote strategy (abandoned) in order to keep their attention off the gal with the most previous votes.

"RE: Superman"
Posted by janisella on 07-01-01 at 09:28 PM
The women are going to form an estrogen alliance and get rid of the man they perceive as the biggest threat. The men will think the voting is along tribal lines and won't know what in the heck happened.

Superman has insisted on two different threads that he's gone in this episode. I think he knows something. Also, the strong do tend to be booted in E7 (think Gretchen and Jeff, plus Colby receiving 5 votes). The death is a red herring.

Among the BB's, Mon Cherie has the most votes.
Among the AA's, SurvivorChick has the most votes.

Assuming that everyone votes along tribal lines (which is probably a bad assumption, but what else have we got?), the question is which tribe is more likely to pick the correct person. Something tells me that the close, close relationship between GT and Dalton makes the difference here. Because they had an alliance, it would make sense that they shared voting history. Dalton is gone now and can't alert her tribe to Mon Cherie's status. GT's still around, so the BB's pick the right person.

"Ice Cat"
Posted by Outfrontgirl on 07-02-01 at 01:41 PM
There are 2 Cats on the merged tribe and I predict there will a territory dispute, which will involve a lot of annoying pissing and scratching and Attitude. Then the male and female cats keep the new tribe up all night with their caterwauling. The Tom Cat is given the unthinkable choice of being neutered or booted, and to no one's surprise he chooses to vote for himself and give the AA's a 6-vote majority.
Farewell, #6!
