"No Boundaries - Episode 2"

Did anyone watch the second episode tonight?I am waiting for an episode where they have to actually make a big decision on who to boot. So far they have just kicked out the person that had to go to the medic. Rob got ill and it was easy to boot him.
Some of these people are scheming and others think they are on a holiday. Not to mention some are bad litter bugs. Ewww!
I wonder how Jesse will be as a leader?

LAST EDITED ON 03-10-02 AT 08:14 PM (EST)This episode was great! But, by far, the most comedic part was when Kirsten flashed herself with the headlamp! It was a priceless moment you only thought you'd see in movies.
One question though...who was the one who said they didn't know how to use a compass before they got there?
All in all, another nice episode.
edited to add that Jesse kind of scares me with his whole strategy thing, but I think he'll do well as leader

They finally made it more than a mile from the highway...The first episode 'gorge' that they were crossing is right next to the main highway that travels between the east and west sides of Vancouver Island.
Also from the first episode, the remote 'Malahat' pass through the mountains that they showed is a four lane highway.
Their first beach scene was filmed not less than 100 feet from the main highway into Tofino. I take my kids swimming there when I visit the Island.
Tonight they finally made it north of Tofino to a little bit more remote territory. They are just still a very short boat ride from Gold River or Zeballos.
IMHO, if they really wanted to make these people work, they would have made them hike the entire west coast trail instead of driving them up to the top end of it.
It will interesting to see if they continue up the west coast to the Queen Charlotte Islands or if they head inland now. I suspect that they will end up taking the ferry to Prince Rupert from Port Hardy. Port Hardy is at the northern tip of Vancouver Island. They'll probably gloss over the ferry ride because it basically means that they'll be staying in state rooms on a refurbished low-end cruise ship.
I also have a bone to pick about their so-called 'guide'. The website says she's from Sioux Lookout, Ontario but the show is being taped on Vancouver Island. She can't be much use as a guide if she's from a place that's over 2000 miles away from where they are hiking. As they go further north, they'll get even further away from Sioux Lookout. Eye candy? Maybe. Guide? I think not.
Aside from that, I think the show has potential. I don't think we will see that potential until they actually get more than 10 miles away from civilization.

Yeah, that "guide" is a glorified agenda hander-outer who looks good in a bikini. If they told us that she had helped to plan the route, I'd be more impressed.I thought that Rob wimping out so fast was interesting...
I love Tofino, my son and I have driven out there every year for three years (a 28 hour drive!). It was neat seeing the beach again. And I can personally confirm that even in the hottest part of summer, the water is FREEZING! You get numb from the neck down after swimming for five minutes.
I'm still enjoying the show quite a bit. I thought the preview of next week was interesting, with Jesse saying that the guys "carry" the girls, as this episode he was OUT of the water paddling that raft while Stephanie and other girls swam ALL the way!
Boot that one who puts on makeup! There is nothing I hate worse than girls who put on makeup every morning while camping. Give me a break!

Yes I thought of the same thing when Jesse said the guys were carrying the girls. I thought of the 3 women that swam to the island while alot of the guys were there waiting for them.

>Boot that one who puts on makeup! There is nothing I
>hate worse than girls who put on makeup every morning
>while camping. Give me a break! I believe this is "Rosie" (who I also think is the one who professes to being a virgin during the campfire "Two Truths and a Lie" scene.)
I also can't see the reason why anyone would wear makeup
WHILE CAMPING, I do think it's important that we keep in mind this isn't anything close to a normal camping trip. Everyone on this trip knows they are being filmed all day long, it's only natural that a 21 year old girl would be thinking about her appearance knowing that millions of viewers are going to be watching.
