"Masterchef: Season #4"

Think there's any chance Amy from Amy's Baking Company will show up? After all, it's not as if we can really call her a professional, and since Erica -- we all know Erica, don't we? -- is this season's casting director, Amy will fulfill every requirement. She's egotistical, delusional, screams a lot, makes no friends, and is totally insane. Slot taken.

...cooking talent? Why on earth would a Masterchef contestant ever need that?

Luca is back.
And of course the evil villain will be played by Chrissi.

I think evil villain status is currently up for debate. Krissi isn't that bad: she's just -- representative of her area? Sure, let's go with that. Jordan and Natasha might have more of a claim to it, or at least be trying to get that status. (Luca was just temporarily forced into the role with his Mystery Box win.)

Odd emphasis on baking in the early Pressure Tests -- two for two. Maybe the panel thought it was the one thing no one would have studied. They haven't exactly been wrong so far.

The team challenges are starting to feel repetitive: we've cooked for kids a few times now. Something new has to be coming down the line, especially given the set's makeover -- those dining arrangements have to be there for a reason, right?

And the photography has been stepped up this season. If you weren't hungry for black cod after that episode, you were asleep.

At last Peter Sellars!

Not sure why this show has lost its sparkle, the Oz show is still really enjoyable.

Next week...

Coming up soon, Masterchef for children
