"The Next Great BAKER"

I watch this now & then; Buddy is NOT a very good actor; everything he says is soooo scripted.
But sometimes it's fun.

I'm posting this cause the episode I watched last night - which I think originally aired the week of Christmas, Wesley Durden was sent home. At the end was a RIP to him.
He committed suicide in October.
Just reminded me that people we see on reality tv are real people.

Ag covered my snowglobe in chocolate! Awesome!

Oh, I didn't realize it was suicide. I assumed he had been killed in combat, since he had said he was about to deploy.

I agree, sometimes the show seems scripted, and the drama can be over the top, but I like seeing the cakes that they make.

Well that's a bit of a shock. OK he didn't have the experience to win, but he was willing to learn.

Any thoughts on who's going to win tonight?

Nadine seems the most well rounded of the group.
Marisa is also very talented, but is kind of spastic under pressure.
Ryan seems to not be quite as skilled as the other two, but has good ideas and learns quickly (winning the rose challenge the first time he made one was impressive).

I think anyone could take it at this point, depending on how tonight goes.

Ryan does not play well with others

I agree Nadine would be my choice, however after the past couple of weeks it could be Marisa

I was not happy with Buddy's decision.

I would have chosen Nadine, however I thought Marisa did a good job on her story cake. Nadines was a little too "pillary" for me.

I wondered why Nadine didn't use cakes - maybe only 1 layer - on the pedestals and then use cotton candy all around to give them the cloud look. Maybe no cotton candy machine available?

I probably would have gone with Nadine also, but to her credit, Marisa was much less spastic this time, even on no sleep, so maybe she wouldn't be so bad to work with after all.

Buddy's mama has been diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease). The show was a tear-jerker.
