I just watched the extended preview of

Charm School 2, "starring" the Rock of Love Girls.

Yes, Lacey, Heather, Megan, Brandi, and Rodeo are all there to name a few. And yes, they showed Rodeo crying, lol.

OMG these women make the Falvor of Love girls look classy. Well, not really but they are horrible. I can't wait.

Sharon Osborne is the host. I love her.

It looks like they have tried to 'rock' the girls up, most of them have pink extensions and even more slutty clothing.

Anyway, as I said, I can't wait.
Check it out.

OK ... the black woman with the blonde weave (I dont care to remember her name) is OBVIOUSLY mentally disturbed. Don't these chicks have a Psych clearance before going on the show. I am just glad I dont have to suffer through her carp anymore.

As for the rest... Lacey (who is probably borderline disturbed herself) is a hoot to watch.

I hope Sharon and the producers were able to convince Courtney to get some help.

I still don't like Dallas.

Why did Heather show up dressed like a porn star?

Can't wait to see what happens next.

"Don't these checks have a Psych clearance before going on the show"

Um, I think they do a Psych check, but give the peeps they have on these shows I think they make sure they have some sort of disturbance before allowing them to be cast.

I've got a number of early problems with this series, but they all break down to this core issue:

For the original series, we had a couple of people who went on the show not just for the prize money, but for the opportunity to change themselves. As Ginger pointed out, Saaphyri recognized this as potentially being the one-and-only chance she'd ever have to pull herself up, and Leilene wasn't far behind her. There were people there for camera exposure, cash, and chances at revenge (I'm glaring at you, Larissa) -- but there were also those who were honestly trying to better themselves and their lives. Two of them wound up as the F2: best-case scenario right there. Decent series, satisfying conclusion, turn out the lights.

And in this group? We have the classic Season #2 Syndrome on full display: everyone is here for the camera exposure, revenge, and extra media time. I can't spot a single person who's actually in line with the series' line of thought: change yourself, rise above the idiocy that got you tossed from your original show, be complete. No, every last one of these people is here for the $100,000, and those who need change the most are the ones least likely to. The one who needed help the most (and arguably our Saaphyri-intended for the season, as she also never made it to her original ouster) was Courtney, and she went out first, hopefully towards a different kind of help -- leaving behind Lacey, who's just there to see how many people she can get thrown off the show without having herself tossed at the same time.

Sharon may wind up shooting someone before the end of the series. It just might be herself.

If I had to make an early guess, Heather could be the winner. Inna's our Goldie: no reason to be here.

The first one was enjoyable because it had that little touch of sincerity to go with a few major train wrecks in slow-motion progress. (Hi, Brooke!) If this one turns out to be nothing except an Amtrak graveyard-to-be, it'll become boring fast. As a group, we tend to embrace those who favor the spirit of their shows: the real survivors that reach F2, the ones with the love of travel sprinting for their final mats. Having a pair of con artists with no intention of being anything else waiting to see which one gets their check for the strongest change -- click.

I just happened upon the existence of this show. The first episode replays tonight. In the process of looking for a replay of the first episode I found Megan on I Love Money. Megan, whose expressed career goal is to be a trophy wife. I expect Sharon Osbourne to be the best part of the show, with no one left at the end. I must say, the clip of Heather hanging upside down by her legs from the stripper pole has me in awe of the woman. That cannot be easy to do.

"Episode #2"
Posted by Estee on 10-20-08 at 11:45 AM
So either Megan's decided that a jury will play no part in this game, she's realized she can't win no matter what happens and it's all about how many people she can offend along the way, or -- she has learned exactly nothing. (Two out of three is an option.) Has the woman ever had an emotion she didn't plan out in advance for her own benefit? 'Did I forget to mention that I called Brandi M. trailer trash before anything happened? Good.' Well, at least this isn't MTV, or she'd really be around forever...

It feels like Lacey's decided she can't win -- so she'll just get her satisfaction from making other people lose. Get rid of Dallas! Get rid of the Brandis! Get rid of everyone except herself and then wait for Sharon to call forfeit! And just when you think she's completely one-dimensional and there's nothing there except Bart Simpson with a sex change and dye job -- she darts up on stage so she can play along with one of her rock icons, seizing the moment and enjoying something a lot of fans could just barely dream of. There's more than a harridan in training here -- but not very much.

Inna's starting to come out from under the edit radar, but just as a confessional complainer. No one's figured out how to position the Ukrainian Love Tank for challenges: as the strongest female there, she should have been in more of a throwing position for the sandbags and hauling just about everything on the stage. (We've never gotten a crossover going in to EPMB -- but I'd still be curious to see her on Survivor.) As such, she's got a lot to complain about. This won't change any time soon.

We still have a few invisibles in the group: Bobbi Jo is barely there -- not a bad thing -- and Destiney's just barely getting words in. Right now, our central storylines are the Lacey-Dallas conflict and Megan Vs. Absolutely Everybody. Good luck picking a winner from that editing.

And really, it's too bad about losing Angelique. I almost understood her this time.

Megan is starting to remind me of the original description for Connie: 'trophy wife, needs some polishing.'

"Episode #3"

In which Sharon starts to become just a wee bit fed up with this.

I wonder if we got the winning quote last night -- or at least the quote pointing to the winner. So Brandi C. becomes a sweetheart if you can just get her away from Lacey and Megan? Well, then get ready to watch Brandi C. become a sweetheart, because she's got a very good chance to outlast both of them.

Sharon hates Megan. This is a very sensible attitude. Sharon has watched Megan's ROL appearances, may have gotten to see the ILM footage, and has thus placed Megan into the same position Danielle occupied at the very end of BB3: smile all you like, but we've seen the confessionals. Megan can't play sugar-sweet and then slip the knife in any more: Sharon knows which hand to keep an eye on. This has Megan very shaken up. Not enough to change, of course -- just enough so that she might try a few new tricks. If she has any.

Sharon doesn't like Lacey. Sharon's seen Lacey's footage too, and she knows Lacey is addicted to drama. Start the avalanche and file the first lawsuit if a pebble bounces off your own head: there's Lacey's one and only strategy. Sharon knows Lacey for what she is: somewhat insane, completely detached from all personal responsibility, and incapable of learning.

And yet, Rodeo went home...

Hard to see Rodeo as occupying the Courtney position of 'most normal one in the group' -- but despite her financial wishes, she didn't have the desire, foundation, or real need for change that the show so desperately wants to locate. In that sense, her leaving makes sense: she wasn't going to become anyone else, so let her leave now. The problem is that she was up against Lacey and Megan -- and while both of them truly need to change, I don't think either one wants to, is capable of it, or cares enough to try. Megan will fake anything for cash -- but Sharon's on to her. And Lacey may not even want the money: her only goal might be to keep other people from getting it. But real, fundamental change from either one? Not going to happen.

So for now, I'm going to call Brandi C. as our winner -- but it is ever going to be a long road to take her there...

Random notes:

Which was more of a horror: the fashion show before the shopping trip, what happened to the new clothes afterwards, or everything that happened during the runway walk? (Unlike every other Ukrainian military vehicle, the Love Tank has not been adapted to run on alcohol.)

If you won your season of Project Runway and this guest appearance is all you've been able to turn it into, you have no right to look down your nose at anyone.

Where was Rodeo during that last confessional? Maybe she literally phoned it in...

We still have several near-invisible edits, with Kristy Jo at the head of the list. The drama has pretty much taken over the show.

How many times have you ever been backstage at a rock concert and spotted a Weed Whacker?

And if we get a third season, will they finally get around to the men?

How did Megan win her B&TG season? Hypnosis? Blackmail? Everyone else died?

I think she's noticed all the louder, crazier personalities (or just personality problems) around her and decided her best bet is to go under the radar for a while.

How insane do things have to be for Kristi Jo to fade into the background?

Taken out by a grenade Lacey dropped down her cleavage (or decolletage), which was quite a trick considering there was about 0.23" showing.

Lacey doesn't care about winning: she just wants to make other people lose. In this case, all she needed was an actress told to be amazingly conservative, a dress that only offended if you had something major against shoulders, and Inna's lack of vocabulary. I'd known Inna wasn't going to win from the first day -- she didn't have that much which needed changing -- but it was a very ugly way to go out. Who wants Lacey on their team now? Nobody.

And here's Jessica, proving she's got a backbone by letting everyone else talk her into volunteering to be a doormat.

I still think we're on track for a potential Brandi C. win, although she'll have to wake up in a hurry and join the parade: Heather's about six steps ahead of her. (Maybe Brandi C. just doesn't know how to march with anyone who isn't a male between 18 and 36.) It certainly won't be Brandi M, who's currently working on fifty ways to not pronounce Charm School.

It's a very long road for our remaining contestants, and I'm not sure most of them know they're supposed to be on a trip.

I could never meet British royalty. I'd walk out in the middle of the protocol list.

I'm guessing Destiny didn't learn much from this show. Of course, I don't think any of them learned much.

Her Destiney is to bare all

You may have seen Destiney Moore on VH1's "Rock of Love with Bret Michaels," "I Love Money," and "Charm School 2," but you probably haven't seen her strip. She makes her feature debut at the all-nude Al's Diamond Cabaret (1810 N. 5th) in Reading, Thursday to Saturday.

Azula just banished her last possible ally from the kingdom.

I don't believe Brandi C. was lying about not being able to remember the spitting: I've had the great misfortune of being around people who can not only reach that level of drunk, but go through the self-inflicted memory wipe after. She was embarrassed, she apologized, she settled things, and Destiney was willing to keep her around in favor of dumping Azula -- but there was a rule broken, and Sharon wasn't going to stand for it.

Gee. VH1 series have a no-spitting rule. Wonder when that went in.

So I wasn't the only one who saw Brandi C. as the potential winner: part of the panel was tilting in that direction too. (Also possibly part of the uglifying makeover team, as they arguably did less with her than any of the others.) For the ultimate winner, I'll switch to Heather. For the ultimate loser...

I also don't believe the previews on this one. I don't think Azula's capable of change. Crocodile tears in an attempt to make the judges think she feels bad about how the others feel about her, sure, she can do that -- but getting real emotion behind it? Not a chance.

A rule was broken. Got it. But the wrong person keeps going home.

I keep waiting for one of these little schemes to backfire on Lacey, but they never seem to. Probably why she keeps doing that to people. She's good enough at it that someone else always takes the fall.

"The metaphor continues."
Posted by Estee on 12-03-08 at 06:26 AM
Azula, whose insanity has now gotten all of her potential allies banished from the kingdom... And yet that same insanity is what keeps her on the show. Repentance? Doubt it. I have to agree with the confessionals: she's out of friends, has a houseful of enemies to deal with, and she's just scrambling to lower the overall hate level a little in the hopes that it'll keep people from going after her the way she went after them. The very, very vain hopes. Honestly, was anyone else expecting at least one contestant to go for performance art? 'This poem is about Azula -- come on up -- I hate you!' *!wham!* 'I want you dead!' *!pow!* 'I'm going to rip your hair out!' *!ripping out of hair!*

And did you ever think you'd see the day when Kristy Jo would get kicked off a show for being too normal?

"RE: The metaphor continues."
Posted by weltek on 12-04-08 at 11:20 AM
No joke-my eyes popped out like Heather's boobs in a dress when Kristy Jo was seen as not needing Charm School. Well, technically it was Jessica that didn't "need" it, KJ wasn't "using it to her full advantage."

I personally loved it when they told Jessica to quit talking like a little girl. *snort* I like Jessica, but the baby voice and mentality was really bothering me.

I don't get it.

Brandi C. seemed to be receiving a winner's edit. Then Lacey took her out for the drunkard's walk, and she went out. After that, Heather was being painted as this season's champion. Then the T-shirts were stuffed down her nose, and she went out. Anyone who seems to have made tangible progress has left. And of the three remaining, Brandi M's done the most -- at least, she's done something -- which at this point, means she's the next one out.

Lacey can't win -- right?

My money's on Brandi M.

"RE: The editing goes kerflooey."
Posted by toddE on 12-08-08 at 11:29 AM
Let's analyze:

I never thought Heather would win, though I didn't necessarily expect her to go out in a self-imposed meltdown. However, she's done it before, so I shouldn't be too surprised. Heather is really just too much of a skank at heart to win.

So who is left?

Destiny--I read a post here noting that she is making or has just made her debut on the stripper pole in upstate NY. I'd think the prize money would preclude this, had she won. Also, she is dull. (However, I find it amusing that her 1% sex life of 2 or 3 partners in 6 months, would be a bonanza for, say, me). I expected her to be this week's boot, and now I expect her to go next week.

Lacey vs. Brandi M

They have gotten the most camera time and biggest story arcs this season.

Lacey has made her transformation so late in the game, though. Also, it is patently fake and one-dimensional. So the judges should see right through her. But, she is a great performer and I actually could see her winning.

Brandi M has gotten the winner's edit. In fact, the obviousness of her editing is the only reason I am not positive that she will win. She has made the most progress and is by far the most likable contestant.

In fact, VH1 made it pretty obvious that Hoopz and Whiteboy would be the last people standing on I Love Money, and Hoopz got winner edit the whole season, so I am going on record with the Brandi M prediction as well.

Well, that is amusing and I don't know what to think.

Clearly, Sharon is a beeyutch on wheels, loves to dish it out, can't take any criticism, and what Megan said is totally true.

But I have to think this was probably staged. I mean, this could hardly be the first time someone said that to Sharon, I'd imagine she could handle herself. If she really gave Megan a reason to sue her, that would be dumb...and horrid as Sharon is, she's not dumb.

She's still a good host for this show, as was the (equally horrible and nasty, but in a different way) Mo'Nique last season.

I know she was on Beauty and the Geek before she started on the VH1-DAW-athon tour.

Was she as obnoxious on that show? I didn't see it that often so I don't know.

What I wanted to know is how many times they had to cast her upcoming make me your trophy wife show before they got enough men who wouldn't just walk off the set saying, "Oh.Hell.No!" when they found out who they are competing for. I know there have to be a few that will put up with anything to be on TV, but it is going to take a special cast to woo her.

I wonder how they proved their worth to Vh1. Cause their screening process isn't always the best. LOL

In other news, I'm happy about the winner. I read an interview with her on the Vh1 website and she seems to have a very down to earth attitude. And unlike some of these chicks with delusions of A list celebrity (umm Heather) she's been working a cocktail waitress job all this time. Cause "she's got bills to pay". She only just hired a manager now to make a little more money to pay some student loans.

Supposedly this is where Megan assaults Sharon (or Sharon assaults Megan, or a camera just happens to mysteriously fall from the ceiling). Beyond that, I can safely predict three things:

1. It'll be loud.
2. There will be cursing.
3. If Raven shows up, it's only because someone enforced her contract.

ETA: Just watched the relevant segment: it's from roughly 20:00-30:00. You can argue that Sharon started the verbal escalation -- at least to the final phase -- and she definitely kicked off the physical one. (To a degree, that second part feels staged.) But the most notable event might be what happens after Megan's dragged out.

Friends? No, she hasn't exactly made any...
