"Final observations: Congrats Whitlow, but Wolf was robbed...."

First, I have nothing against Whitlow, I congratulate her on her victory, I applaud her effort to get over that wall (that WILL come back to help you in life one day, Whitlow! Trust me, I've been there). Also, she's from Atlanta, as am I, so I am proud of her for doing us proud. I was also disappointed to find out that Whitlow is married. They kept showing her and her (very lucky) husband on the local news last night. *SIGH* too bad, I was hoping to meet her, a little candlelight dinner... (*Oops! User quickly running away as Recruit Blu goes for her bullwhip!*)

So what I'm going to say below should not be construed to take away from her efforts or performance.

Boot Camp ended appropriately: horribly. More bad editing, it was obvious what was going to happen on Dismissal Hill, the producers and contestants clearly followed their scripts (although not well), and we're left with a bad taste in our mouth at the ending: Wolf was robbed.

It came as no surprise that Whitlow won, and won 7-6. I predicted this (and this is not to toot my own horn, but to show the predictability of this game once you realize it's FIXED, right Clown?). But what pi$$ed me off big-time was that several of the voters went against Wolf because of the carabiner incident, an incident in which WOLF DID NOTHING WRONG!!!

The fault for that lies with Recruits Moretty and Yaney (Moretty because it was HER carabiner left behind, and Yaney because he was Squad Leader and therefore responsible for the whole squad. And DON'T BOTHER telling me that Moretty handed Wolf her rope and he put it down... it's HER responsibility to keep up with HER equipment, not his). Wolf did NOTHING wrong, and to have that used against him in the way it was was horribly wrong. Wolf was an arrogant a$$hole (I'm sure Clown really liked him), but didn't deserve to be screwed over like that. If the other recruits had all voted for Whitlow because they simply liked her better than Wolf, I would've not minded that.

I especially wanted to beat the living $#!+ out of that wimp-balloonboy-flamingidiot Yaney. What a total f__king waste of humanity. His parents should be shot for producing such trash. And for him to blame Wolf for that carabiner incident that was HIS fault all the way (the idiot should've had them check for their equipment before leaving the site). Geez....

Well, the producers got the "drama" they wanted, and botched it. They got the result they probably wanted. I hope they're happy. But they've lost their customers.

** look out, I'm getting on the soapbox now **

Finally, one last thing that embittered me, and it's philosophical in nature: The message from Boot Camp is: Try to be the best, try to work hard, try to WIN, and you will be brought down, you will be screwed over, even if your enemies have to trump up false charges against you to do it. Try to succeed, they'll stick it to you. Wolf was clearly (and IMHO deliberately) made a victim. Clearly if this was a real boot camp, he was among the best: in great physical condition, desire to succeed, desire to win, had leadership qualities. But the producers kept him in the game, kept showing him succeeding, kept him from being voted out, so that in the end they could say to us "Now watch! This is what we do to people who try to succeed!" This is what is happening in the world today. Try to succeed, to earn a living, they rob you of your earnings by putting a government gun to your head, confiscating your hard-earned money in the form of taxes, then hand it to those who have not earned it, do not produce with it, consume it then come back and demand that you work harder to provide them with more. Try to achieve and succeed, and you are called evil. Try to succeed and you will be maligned, slandered, spat upon, and whatever else it takes to bring you down.

**getting off the Objectivist soapbox now**

So Boot Camp ends, and I guess it's appropriate it ended the way it did. I was hoping there would be a Boot Camp II where they would fix the problems of the first show, but they might as well not bother now.

Oh well... at least I met Recruit Blu here

I don't know whether you're serious when you speak of the producers and contestants following their scripts. Are saying BC is a scripted show?

I, myself, agree that Wolf lost for something that he didn't do. I agreed with Wolfs statement; that Brown had managed to pursuade the Jury that Wolf was the one who had left the rope. Another case of bad editing; we never really saw WHY Brown EVER had anything against Wolf in the course of the show; He was the most physical, and arrogant, but there were quite a few arrogant people there. Jackson, for one.

But I digress. My main conflict is what you think is the message of boot camp. Wolf has never been shown as a victim. He was shown as a cocky and arrogant backstabber, something that finally caught up with him at the end. In the episode in which Meyer got ejected, he learned he may have votes cast against him, and he goes and whines to the women. In many episodes towards the end, he freely boasts that he has been betraying others by saying to others what was said behind their backs. He did what he could to make it further in the game, but he did it like a weasel. Were these qualities that we wanted in our Boot Camp champion? No way! If he had won, it would have shown that to succeed, you need to be cocky, underhanded and whiny. Much like Richard Hatch of S1...but Wolf was a poor imitation.

All of those statement about trying to succeed, trying to win and never giving up could also apply to Whitlow. Look at her on that wall last night as evidence enough! And she did it without antagonizing her fellow boot campers, like Wolf did. That is a good message for life, for you will get nowhere in life by irritating and pissing off those you work with. Wolf did exactly that...and it bit him on the ass at the end.

Not one jury member voted for Wolf...that goes to show something about his character. None of them felt he deserved it. Whitlow was consistent...and she deserved the win.

Good Job Whitlow!

In the end I think quite a few of the recruits were not crazy about their choices. But they all felt Wolf deserved to be punished for his behaviour. Coddington and Moretty stated on a website that the public saw so little of what happened. We didn't know just how much they liked or disliked each other. We thought Wolf was arrogant and annoying. But we didn't have to live with him. I imagine he had done alot more than the D-ring incident to upset some of the recruits.

I was just happy Wolf didn't win. So in that way the show's ending made me happy. But the show could have been done so much better. I wanted to know what went on behind the scenes and who was really conspiring with each other. The voting out made no sense half the time and took away the enjoyment of watching.

First I loved boot camp, it gave me a reason to drag my butt off the ceiling every freaking day just to live to see Boot Camp on wendsdays. Whats not to love? ..... chaos , people yelling at other people, Drill Instructor McSweeny flipping his noodle and thrashing the place, it was wonderful.

OOH YEAH!

About the outcome of the freaking thing that I had taped and not seen until about 26 hours after it was shown because I was on the road. Wolf yes he could have came forward about the stupid caribiner, but he was not the only one involved. Yes everyone got thrashed, but Whitlow be it that there was only four recruits at the time, got the squad turned and burned for the stupid mint incident. (which is highly suspect but we can all ponder that one later. It comes down to that no one wanted Wolf to win. It was stated that Whitlow was the most consitant, whitlow said she was going to hold back from the very begining, wolf went all out all the time , not just when he was the squad leader but all the time. Yes he was arrogant, yes he was sneaky, but he kicked but at evry obstacle, mission, what ever...... AND HE PAID FOR IT. The dismisse drecruits didnt hate him for his arrogance, they hated him because he was better. Today is not about making ourselves or things feel or be better, its about making everyone else feel worse!!!

WHITLOW at the wall, not giving up, digging and digging and digging and finally pulling it back from the brink of destruction, yes it almost brought tears to my eyes, I loved it, way to whitlow.

Morretyyyyy Im a military spouse! How she got that far in the first place is beyond me, IM not making faces, my legs wont go any higher, hold my ropes please.

PUPO my favorite female, WOW how could she? I flipped a coin? Pupo I dont care either. Im just like a duck, every time I wake up Im in a brand new world and I just dont care. QUACK QUACK its a new day!

Any way I will miss boot camp, and actually probably concentrate more on work then geeting home by 8 to watch boot camp.

GOD BLESS THE ARMY??? yes god bless them, how big of a bonus did we get to go the army? Yes I want to serve my country but only for a bonus. Hey you serve your country for your bonus.

ILL DO IT FOR FREE.

Oh and I started out as a 11B at Harmony Church before earning the title in the creamed corn, so I know what be all you think you want to be even if you dont want to be..... so dont go there.

I HATE EVERYTHING

Big surprise ending for me. Was that an audience sitting
in the dark behind the recruits on dismissal hill?
Pupo appeared to be high. I bet she would have been a
real character if she had been on the show longer.
Poor Yaney; he looked scared out of his skin, like a deer
in the headlights every time the camera focused on him. You
know the producers made him the final determining vote
on purpose. What do you think about Yaney and Wolf with a full head of hair,at the end of the show? Wolf was unrecognizable.
All in all, I'd rate the series a 4 and the final episode a 7.
