i have 3 words about boot camp: re - tard - dedi don't even know where to start here & this show will get boring quick -
i'm caught between a mockery of the armed services & what a bunch of babies these people are.
did you see the movie w/ ice tea & gary busy where they hunt his ass down in the wilderness?
i think it's only time before we see this or the running man on tv
first of all - the only think these DIs can do is yell. they cant curse or hit you?
man...get with the program.
in the real world those guys are slinging the "f" word, the "c" word, the "mf-er" & "c-sucker" like no tomorrow....cmon! thats reality. where's the hazing & physical abuse?!!
the pig farmer almost died running 1.5 miles...please... make them run 10 or 20 - right after breakfast. then put them on a blackhawk rollercoaster ride.
& what was with the gratuitous belly shirts & jog bras? do they issues those in boot camp?
maybe we'll get to see the chicks community shower next week
how could they possibly pick a balloon animal maker or whatever that guy does? are you kidding me?!! -- first of all, how do you make a living at that? second...how big do your balls have to be to admit it?
anyway - this show didnt hold my attention well, so i'm not sure i'll keep up with it.....maybe

You won't see any cursing or physical abuse from the DI's... they just don't do that kind of thing anymore (at least not in the open)... Now-a-days, real military recruits get time-outs if they're having problems dealing with the intimidation that a good Drill Instructor is able to command... Thanks to all the bleeding hearts for that.

LAST EDITED ON 03-29-01 AT 01:05 PM (EST)bluejackethockey, I was in the military in the mid- to late 1980s. While the military of today has gone to pantywaist wishy-washyness, there hasn't been the hardcore cursing for some time. All the Airborne jodies (songs you sing while running) had to be changed to take out the cuss words, and drill instructors and special school (Airborne, Ranger, Special Forces) instructors have been "discouraged" from heavy cursing for some time. So that's nothing really new or big deal.
Also, since it's on TV, you can expect not to see much cursing.
This isn't reality, anyway, so just take it for the fun it is. As I said on another thread: Give me one week with these "recruits"....

have not seen the show YET, nor was i in the military, BUT i believe they are trying to make this "reality based programming". i have to agree with BJH, in that i don't think the women in the "real" military wear belly & boobie shirts (unless it's g.i. jane we are talking about) - correct me if i am wrong...
