"On Balloon Animal Boy"

I watched him. He wasn't too fast or too slow, he took orders, kept his mouth shut, kept a straight face, he didn't argue with anybody, he didn't stick out, he was eating with some girls (I think it was him...hard to tell), he called his mother...essentially, after they shaved his head, he became nearly invisible.
He might not win, but Balloon Animal Boy is DEFINITELY going to go far with the "flying under the radar" method.

But...but..but...Blu, didn't you see the poodle he made?
I mean, that kid really has talent! How could you not be
obsessed with Balloon Animal Boy?
Oh sure Blu...like any woman could do better than Balloon Animal
Boy?
Gee Blu...you hurt my feelings *sniff sniff snivel*.

P.S. I'm about to give up on him because I can't seem
to type "balloon" without a typo!

You are right he is definitely going under the radar. I doubt that anyone else on the show will either like him or dislike him. He will just kind of be there, and it seems likely that it will be for a long time, just because he does not stick out at all. He seems to do his work, and the ladies seem to like him, and the ones who want to "get rid of the weak link" will not want him out for at least 5 more people.

By the way, there was nothing about this guy that I liked. He was pretty annoying. He reminds me of Amber, though he has no master to follow yet.

No way...you can't compare balloon animal boy to Amber.
Amber has no personality and doesn't stive to get one...
balloon boy is at least trying something out of the norm.
Balloon boy marches to the beat of a different drummer.
He seems a like a harmless underdog to root for (unlike
the devil's puppet named Amber).

You are right, he does go to the beat of a different drummer, and that is great. But so far on this show he has not tried anything out of the norm. I am not going to root for the guy just because he makes balloon puppets. So far on the show he has shown us virtually nothing. That may change in the updoming weeks, but as of yet I see no real reason to like or dislike him. I think it is cool that you feel so strongly about this dude, but what has he done(other than have his poodle eaten) to show any sort of personality? Calling Mommy just tells me he has no significant other to call home to. He is obviously a nice person, but so was Kel, look where that got him. I guess I will have to wait and see what happens with this guy in the upcoming episodes, but as of right now he is just the guy who makes balloon animals and calls his mother(both are good qualities, but not good enough for me to obsess over the guy).

Maybe the Amber comparison was a bit harsh though, so I will retract that one. I was only giving that from what little personality we have seen from the guy so far. I assume we will get more in the next couple of episodes, and maybe then I can make a better judgement.

Here's his biography:
---------------
Shawn Yaney is a graphic designer and a first-class balloon
sculptor, but he puts that on hold to enter the world of "Boot
Camp." This 27-year-old from New Jersey enjoys playing ice
hockey and listening to the blues at Manhattan nightclubs. He
brings to "Boot Camp" the ability to help and provide moral support to others.
------------------
Hey...I used to play hockey, and I play da' blues! It clearly says he's there for moral support....he's not some leader that people will get sick of quickly. I think he's going to do okay. Anyway, I've always found people from "Joisy" to be hilarious!
That seems to be a good thing on the reality shows in order to survive.

Well, I have to say that this episode did not improve my opinion of Balloon Boy at all.

But I will absolutely agree with you on one thing, he will go under the radar. As a matter of fact I can almost see him as one of the more likely to win people in this game. If the previews for the upcoming episode are true, the women are going for the stronger men(not Balloon Boy!) and the men are going for the women(again not Balloon Boy). If that keeps up for any amount of time, Balloon Boy is looking like he will make it a long way. AT this point, no one really seems to care about him. He is very much in the background.

Well he did get to become the Gomer Pyle of the group. And he gave the girls a chance to giggle. So they did notice him.

...not true at all, ALL the girls seemed to notice him an more importantly, they ALL LIKE HIM.

He might be the smartest player in this game....he is TRYING hard in the military aspect and he has a firm grasp on how to play the "group dynamics" part of the game, which we all know is the most important part of these games.

He slept in (or something)...so Sarge slapped him around.
Sarge told him to summon the troops, he said "Come on
guys, let's go"...so Sarge slapped him around again. Sarge said he's like the Gomer Pyle of the group but he's got heart.
Then at dismissal council, Sarge said he had been under "discipline".

Anybody know why he got disciplined?
Did he get caught pulling a "Kel" in the woods?
Did he smuggle in some balloons?
Did I miss something?

Due to severe latex withdrawal, recruit Gomer BalloonBoy, was found with condoms. He blew them up and shaped them into a really cool Girrafe. DI spits in your face, was offended, thinking the giraffe was a characature of him.
BalloonBoy, suffers for his art.

EBug,
I don't think Sean knows what a condom is.
Poor Balloon Animal Boy....he must suffer severe
beatings for his art.

To quote Gomer Pyle; "Golllleee"!

You are right about this. I understated his importance, but my point was that no one cares about him in the regard of getting rid of him. No one seems to even pay attention to the guy when it comes time to vote, and as I pointed out earlier this plays to his favor. I think he goes a long way in this game.

You are right about this as well. He is dealing well with the group at a time when the group is still fragile. He has done virtually everything right in this aspect of the game, there is no question about it.

I am not sure why, but I still do not like Balloon Boy. I guess I am just stubborn.
