I'm thinking that the only reason why Taylor is that her parents put her in to further her acting career - and the producers are eating it up.

1) she says she's a pageant girl, but her resume on imdb lists commercials, modeling and print, but no pageants.

This girl wants to be famous.

2) She is so difficult and beligerent that it's easy to imagine her parents encouraging pre-show her to act difficult / princessy to gain more camera time.

2) Most of the kids chosen to be on the show have a skillset that can add to the success of the town. Taylor has absolutly none -- yet she was chosen to be one of the original council members.

I admit it, she's entertaining. But she's not there to help build a town or to experince the "pioneer experience"

I don't think most people list pageants on imdb, I could be wrong. After all it is supposed to be for where someone appeared on film, not a complete resume of everything else they do.

If you google her name and pageant she has done well enough to be listed in the winners/runner ups for quite a number of them.

I think a lot of pageant girls do modeling and acting. Doesn't mean they aren't also pageant girls.

I do agree that it wouldn't surprise me if she was on the show to get more exposure. It would surprise me if she was the only kid on the show that had ever acted or modeled.

You have to have a certain amount of willingness to exhibit yourself to be on any show. Why should this show be different?

ETA: I sure she was quite able to be very convincing that she wanted to be a contribution when she applied. Also have you seen her deer hunting photo? I don't think she is completely without any skill. Unwilling to use them is different from not actually having any.

So what? We all want to be famous! I want to be famous for posting at least 8 years too late for some lame reality show!
