Please keep all sigpic-free discussions of Markie-Mark's Piratical gambit until the West Coast has a chance to either say "Arrrgh, that's good." or "Arrrgh, it svcks!"
Aye matey, don't be postin no lands lubber spoilees or ye be walkin the plank
'an ye best be keepin' yer pritty pict'rs off yer posts, too. Gotta be nice to the dialers.Aye, mates, I'm 'ere.
John: Scientist/Exotic Dancer. Yeah, that's an interesting employment mix. Wonder what science.
Wasn't it Biology? I dunno.
the science of "curves" and "angles"
*snort*
Best I can figure, since I got a phone call right as the legend was being finished! (UGH! wrong number!) the treasure is split 14 ways, one for the captain, and 13 for the members of the crew. There are two maps to each of the treasures. They are setting sail for the island of Dominique, where compartment #1 will be opened up.
I'll haul line, thanks. I've climbed rigging before. It's no fun, particularly barefoot.
Joy's a tad seasick........and the crew is noticing it.
What! Was Joy thinking? Why would you sign up for something like this if you got seasick? Happens to the best in rough waters or close quarters. But on deck in soft seas?
Paddle up a river, making a "critical" left to find a "dead-man's tree". Find clues to the next map. And, the first team forgets they have a rudder they can use and go waaaay off course.
2 maps, 2 compasses.Draw colored balls to determine the crew rosters.
Winners get to keep the treasure, losers come back empty handed.
Joy, seasick girl, is the first to draw the red ball.
The crews will be sailing upriver, make a left turn, find a deadman's tree (skeleton in tree) Then they will find some extra keys to unlock other cages and map.Red crew forgot they had a rudder and went off course.......

Derrickloses hisshowshoe in the muck.Edit 'cause we don't yet know if the show's in the muck. And, I can't tell 'em apart yet.
Doesn't seem too mucky yet, only time'll tell.
That mud trap looked staged. Normally swamps are mucky in much larger patches.
I do think it got some help from the challenge build guys and gals.
*nods* So far, the set design has been really blatant -- part of why everything about the series feels artificial.
'Shoe' the 'show'!(I'm here, but it ain't gonna be easy to post live... lots going on while looking for PTTE/game clues.)
There's a game? Carp! Missed it. I figured the show was too new to have a game yet. Should'a looked.
PTTE and KOB's Fantasy........
-- or is this some really crappy editing? Too much emphasis on setting and the artificial nature of the game, way too little on the people playing it. We don't even have names for half of them yet.
Do you really care who they are? At least at this point?
Mark certainly doesn't/won't.
Wait 'til the greed sets in just a little deeper...
Hey, your"Scientist"/ StripperScientist/"Stripper" won the day!
LOL.

When Fascism comes to America, it will be wrapped in the flag and carrying a cross.-- Sinclair Lewis (1885-1951)
He did tip himself a couple of compasses.
Just so he can find his sorry a$$ home.
Maggots coming out of the skeleton's head. Is this what happens when you donate your body? Cool!
Treasure is attached to a croc's head. Everyone's looking around but no one is using the mask they have to look underwater. Finally, Black crew finds it. It's a chest full of crabs. (John finds it.)
After that cheesy "My horoscope told me to be ware of a red-haired fox" line...I am guessing he has opened his trunk to find a bad case of the crabs before.
And in what might be the most unintentional bit of foreshadowing ever, the winners of the first challenge get a giant case of the crabs.
Do you know I think dh lvoes you more than me sometimes? He still hasn't quit laughing.
Don't worry Mystic I love you more than I lust for Estee
*smooch*
get a giant
>case of the crabs.
Pirate were famous for getting giant cases of crabs. In those days they had no medicine to cure it
John figured out the challenge. John found the treasure. They choose Joe-Don as Pirate Master and he takes the lion's share and splits the rest between 2 he nominated. John's not one of the two.The crew is rebelling.
Episode 1 Mutiny? We can hope!!!!!!!!!!!
Louie (who bears an uncanny resemblance to Rupert) is a fisherman. He figures Joe-Don must have been Army. If anyone's gonna lead a mutiny? He's gonna be the one.
That unequal distribution of the loot is bound to get a few peeps dander up.
They voted for him, so they can't cry about what THEY did. Stupid people. You don't rush and make decisions like that. Guess they learned a lesson.
-- is that everyone has to do it. From the way it sounded, it only takes one vote against to make the captain safe. Nine votes for the captain, one for the black-spotted, the captain's target goes home.Right now, the safest short-term situation is to be an officer. There's currently no way for them to go during a vote.
From the way it sounded, it only takes one vote against to make the captain safe. This site looks legit (it has the Black Eye domain and logo), and it says "Mutiny occurs at the conclusion of Pirates’ Court if there is a unanimous ballot for it and the 2 Officers support it. A successful Mutiny results in forcing the Captain being cut adrift." Additional terms and game mechanics are given in the site.
I couldn't find out what happens if the mutiny worked? new vote...or would one officer move up? I would not want to be capn but wd love to stay an officer, so no mutiny there...so it has to be something else...

I swab no man's deck
You know...it's unbelievably refreshing to have someone as honest as John around.
For once, an absolute no-bs reality show star.
I like this show already - not so much asskissing.
It's hardly ever a good idea to bepirate captainHead Of Household... The jealousy factor is a little strong right now, isn't it? We've always known EPMB loves to create games that punish leaders, but this is pushing it.
The dreaded Black Spot. Choose 3 and mark them with a BS. They get to defend themselves. If the crew mutinies & the officers agree with the crew, the Cap'n will be exiled instead.John-Don is targeting John, Louie, and Joy. John because he's a threat. Louie because he's next biggest threat & he's starting a mutiny, Joy because everyone likes her.
Black Spotted peeps can't vote.
John, Louis, and Joy are given the "Black Mark" and are up to be "cut adrift"If the entire crew agrees unamiously, they can mutiny and send the captain adrift!
John was responsible for getting the treasure. (He snagged both compasses!)Louis was thinking about mutiny, and since those with the black spot can't vote........
Joy, seasick girl, is the "sheep" and the captain is hoping won't be cut adrift.
John's plan: If you get rid of me, you lose the compasses, so MUTINY or forget about any more treasure!
This should be interesting. John has stolen both compasses so he now controls all navigation control (unless someone knows how to sail by the stars - at night - in good weather). He offers a deal to Joy (who's gotten her sea legs) and they're gunning for Joe Don, not Louie.

Are these people auditioning for the next Pirates of the Caribbean movie? Don't see the need to act like you're 'real' pirates. Way too much over-acting going on.
JD's gotten a little too comfortable in that tri-corn of his.Send him away.
I really want to start calling him Captain Hamentashen.
Joe Don argues that he can navigate using the stars & the sun. He doesn't need John or the compasses. Except, it's raining right now. Go ahead, find the dipper and find North.(DH was a navigator for the CG. JD is full of carp on a rainy or overcast day - and the others haven't a clue what he's saying about navigation w/o a compass.)
Joy's still in. Louie is still in.
Unanimous decision - John's gone & so are the compasses. This'll be interesting.
I guess the y'all should toss out this jerk and keep me a much bigger jerk around kinda backfired.
John is a moron. A deluded moron puffed up with delusions of sexual grandure. But it was a neat comeback..."JD, find north right now"
JD: "er...well I can't do it right now"
And even after that, John is voted off. There must have been some heavy John-hating going on off-camera.
I thought the same thing - he must have been way too weird and flakey to have to live in close quarters with him (and I thought that after seeing him for what, 10 minutes on screen?!)
Maybe his "I should've been Captain since I unlocked the 3 key lock and found the f'n treasure" tirade went on a lot longer than we saw? He was definitely not a happy camper after they elected JD the captain........
Very neat move Markie Mark!Since the voting still has to be secret, they've given the pirates' cards with the names of the three black markers, and a Mutiny card!
Joy's safe, Louie's safe.
John was voted out! (That's gratitude for you!)
I guess he came on too strong, too fast.......... they better hope compartment two has some more compasses......
Exactly, too strong, too fast... shoulda laid low for a little while until he built some alliances. But, maybe that was his weak point, nobody looked sorry to see him go.Agree with Slicey's earlier comment that he's straight up, refreshingly so - but he's gone now.
Pssh-John's a REAL pirate.
Screw this hug-fest. It's not about teamwork! It's about money!

LOL. It's about pirating! They should have made John walk the plank.
LOL. It's about pirating!Tis indeed, matey. I think I'm going to like this show, even though it has a Survivor redux feel to it. Same entree, different flavor & spices.

Aye, I'm likin' it too.
So far, the way I get the game is, remain a good crew member until close to the end and then take your mates and mutiny!
All of this early money is just a diversion. This show could give new meaning to "cutthroat", if they play it right.
Prisoners Dilemma anyone?
Edited to remove sig pic again! And spelink
Where did the holes in the cards go?Gee, I guess we're going to be looking at some really slow challenges. Plant the stick, wait half an hour, move, repeat.
Joe Don (otherwise known as "He voted most likely to be fragged" when in the military) will be busy trying to magnetize a needle to drop into a cup of water.Next up? Cap'n JD decides to starve his crew. Yeah... Good move. 'Course he already has $20,000. Maybe that's all he wanted.
-- oh, why not? Let's put the next port of call in the Bar. It's on your left in the Live Chat room. (If you need a compass to find your left, we'll just blame John.)
All of the cards had John's name on it!(Tried typing this earlier, but connection completely crapped out! Power of Markie-Mark?)
