"Sylar Casting"
Posted by trigirl on 11-10-06 at 10:26 AM
I am confused. Sean Bean is credited on IMDB for episodes 1.10 "Six Months Ago" and 1.11 "Nothing to Lose". However someone posted on another thread that the IMDB forums are saying that is a ruse. Also on the other spoiler thread they say that the casing for Sylar is someone who's scrabble value of the actor's name exceeds 10 points.Any thoughts?

As much as I would love to see Sean Bean play Sylar, I believe the rumor is false. The Scrabble hint eliminates Sean from the role.S e a n B e a n

We need a scrabble expert to start listing Actors with values greater then 10 ;)

I read the story of the Sean Bean casting in Entertainment Weekly. Hmmmm, don't know that I've seen them be wrong before. But there's a first for everything, I guess.

I'm the one who said that IMDB forums are saying its a rumor or ruse, put out there to throw people off, and that is what they are saying. As far as EW having said it, I searched EW's site to find the article, and the only thing it came up with for Sean Bean was Troy.As far as the episodes he was supposed to be in, one has recently passed, I watched it and re-watched it twice and never saw Sean Bean in it.

If the latest rumors are correct, the actor playing Sylar has initials that are worth 10 points each in Scrabble.http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0704270/

You are right! Just watched a promo for the next episode in slow motion and you can see his face. Not sure I will like him as Sylar. He was such a dweeb in 24.

Well, I may be prejudiced, but he's a Pittsburgh guy and a CMU theater major. I'm willing to give him a chance on that basis alone.

LAST EDITED ON 11-20-06 AT 11:00 PM (EST)Even without the promo I am pretty sure this is our Sylar. From the scenes in the cafe and his IMDB photoes, I could visualize him sitting in a dark corner with a long coat and a baseball cap.
I usually watch Monday night football and TIVO Heroes. Tonight's an important night for my fantasy team. I'm only up by 19 points in a yardage league. My opponent is tied for first place with me and has Tiki playing tonight. I need this win to stay on top of my division. All that said, I think I'm going to take a break from MNF and watch Heroes.

LAST EDITED ON 11-21-06 AT 08:10 AM (EST)Sources tell me that Sylar will be played by an actor named Zach Quinto. He's a cutie—yes, cutie!—who has popped up for small parts on a slew of shows we love (like 24, Crossing Jordan, CSI and Twins—okay, we'll forgive that last one) and most recently VH1's noTORIous, in which he played Tori Spelling's gay, Persian-American friend. I'm told Zach's fantastic in this role on Heroes (by someone who doesn't work for him, mind you), and that his character is the opposite of what you'd think it would be. Hmm...
