* Got meself a garden going. Peas, SweetPeas, Marigolds, Strawberries, Mesclun, Arugula, Herbs and Radishes, first. Soon Tomatoes, Beans, Kale, Chard, Carrots. Also got a couple of ornamental grasses started and well as a blueberry bush and a small dogwood. Oh and Mushrooms going indoors. Weee....

That's awesome about the promotion! Good luck with that!

Your garden sounds ginormous! Did you use a tractor to till it or what? i mean i have a pretty big garden but holy crap, yours sounds like it will dwarf mine.

a word of advice though...you may want to put your strawberries separate from the rest of your garden...

It's actually pretty small a 10x7 area.
I'm grid planting, so I split the area into 35 "squares" and I'm selective sowing as well. Not using the entire bag of seed or buying starter plants.

The strawberries, tomatoes, ornamental grasses and dogwood are in pots. So, yes, separate from the rest of the garden. But to be honest, it wasn't a decision based on any inside knowledge, what do you know about strawberries?

strawberries are "crawlers". they grow vines that stick themselves into the ground and they continue to do this to any area that they can. Vines are good b/c they produce more plants which gives you more strawberries!

Last year i planted 8 plants in a small area near the house (separate from my garden) and really, only enough fruit to pick and eat right away. Over the winter, I lost 3 plants but the rest have come back. I plan on buying a couple more plants to replace the lost ones. And because it's early in the season yet, when I see flowers on the plants, i'm pruning them. I believe I read that you're actually supposed to prune them the entire first year so taht they will create more crawlers. but i was impatient and wanted berries right away. and as i said, it didnt seem to harm them.

In 5 months, I should be debt-free. This should enable me to start saving for a down payment on a house which should get me into a home by the fall of 2016. Just chugging along.

Lots of awesome news: big gardens, potential promotions and raises, becoming debt free! That's great news and congratulations!

Not sure how I think things could go this week in the game. It seems that Will's side will target Shirin and her side will target Will? But Rodney (Ha! That just autocorrected to rodent) and Dan are all over the vidcaps ....
