Isn't it funny that they are using this "new face surgery" to explain the cast change of the former Phillip to the original Phillip when soaps have been changing actors in midstream for years with nary a blink.Now they have written the face change into the story. They didn't do that when original Shawn was just replaced by new Shawn. Or the originial Belle was replaced by the Worst.Actress.Ever Belle, who was replaced in a nanosecond by the current Belle.
And isn't it cool that I used the word "nary" in a sentence? One doesn't come across too many opportunities to use nary in a sentence these days.

I did think it was funny that when they recast Phillip and while ago and he changed to the guy from the real world, no mention was made of why his face changed. But now that they have changed back to the original Phillip they have to explain the switch? It's funny.

It's funny to me since I've been a Days watcher since the late 60's, that the Hope charater just keeps on with the babies.. Here she is now, with a baby younger than her grandkid... Too hilarious! And the Phillip face thing?? I just think they're trying to be relevant and au courant. I miss good old Tony and Old Stefano...Victor's just no good as a bad guy anymore, imho.

All of those charachters are now back. Tony, Stephano, and the show is hotter than ever. I can definitely tell the diffrence. The writers are excellent. Days has really made a diffrence, I can tell that some soaps may loose it but, they also know how too get it back. Days has did a good job!! Tony and Stephano together are awesomely bad!! lol

Days has been really good this week for an unusually overall dull summer.The scenes with Roman when he was drugged up were soooo funny. Sami is about to burst, I hope she gives birth soon.

I flipped past Days last week and I could have sworn I saw Tony and Anna! What's next, teh return of Eugene and Caliope? Woot!Marlena did look very nipped and tucked. Not a wrinkle on her face. I hope she doesn't turn into an overly plastic freeze face. Yikes.

I have been a days watcher since 1969. John is gone... and I won't miss him. Worst actor ever, right? He always looked as if he smelled some rank fart of Marlena's LOL. Mark my words: they will bring him back within 5 years. Regarding the show in general--- I watch 2 others: Y&R and GH... right now, DOOL is my least favorite yet I soldier on, hoping for glimpses of the past when things were good and exciting. PLEASE give Steve a storyline... and Nick & Chelsea.

I don't know...that blue eye under the covers, didn't look like John Black to me. There have been rumors that it would be Brady, but probably not Kyle Lowder (the actor that last played Brady). There seemed to be wrinkles around the eyes, so I think the person is too old to be Brady.I DO know, however that the Christmas scene at Mrs. Horton's made me tear up -- just like every year (yes, yes, I am a Dork!)

I definitely like new John better. But Marlena is driving me nuts! At what point is she going to say, "I know you're my husband & my soul mate and deep down you know it too, but I CAN'T STAND YOU." She just needs to walk out. Hook back up with Roman, that'll get John's juices flowing. I loved the scene with Roman and Marlena when John walked in. He may not have many emotions, but he sure has jealousy.

I'll tell ya what... I like this new John. I am so afraid they are going to merge the character's personalities and he'll get that squinty-eyed, Marlena's-fart-smelling look back. Meanwhile, my wish (scroll up) for better story lines for better characters was answered.
Next--- let's NOT have Max do the genius Good Will Hunting thing. Oops- to late We saw that coming from a mile away.
Let's bring Nick's parents, Jessica and Joshua, back. Those were the days. That was back when the actor who played this Roman VERY badly was a VERY GOOD Chris Kosichek.

Unfortunately, I haven't watched this show, except for bits and pieces here and there, in years. However, I recently tried to explain the whole John Black/Roman Brady saga to my 16 yr old daughter and it went something like this:Once upon a time in a town called Salem there was a man named Roman Brady (the first - played by Wayne Northrop) and another man named Chris Kositcheck (played by Josh Taylor). Roman Brady (the first) dies. Later, a different looking Roman Brady (the second - played by Drake Hogestyn) comes back. He was in a cave or on an island or something controlled by Stephano DiMeria who changed his face, his eye color and his height. However, it later turns out that Roman Brady the second (Hogestyn) really wasn't Roman Brady after all but a man called John Black (aka Forrest Allemaine and whoever else he has been called since then) when Roman Brady the first (Northrop) comes back to town. Roman Brady the first (Northrop) leaves again (can't remember where or why) and so does Chris Kositcheck (Taylor) at some point. John Black (Hogestyn) stays. Several years later, Roman Brady the third (now played by Josh Taylor who was originally Chris Kositcheck in the past) shows up and sticks around a while. Wayne Northrop (who originally played Roman Brady the first)comes to town as someone completely different; a psycho doctor I think who was apparently married to Marlena in some alternative universe (I never really understood that plot line) and leaves after a short while. So the Roman Brady(s) become John Black and some phycho doctor and Chris Kositcheck (or Crotchicheck as my dd calls him) becomes Roman Brady and no one seems to notice or care.
See why I quit watching this show? **SIGH**

Actually his real name is Ryan Brady DiMera. It's ridiculous to say the least. However I do enjoy this version of him and how he annoys the hag Marlena! I hope this is the real him. Really does anyone want to own up that their memories can fit on a disk? Would you want them back if they were broken and duct taped back together?

Yes I noticed that, they are getting rid of all the older characters, and bringing life to the show,I have been watching this show for about 40 years now. Haven't seen John, o Marlena, or Alice in some time. I really thing thought that Bo and Hope should stay married,I hope the dont divorce.
