He'll never understand, because according to him, he hasn't lost.He was voted off as part of his plan to take over the world using a squad of specially selected and trained (by him) stealth soldiers who are absolutely trustworthy and loyal. He has the bigger picture in mind, you see.
Per his RTVW interview:
1. He knew he would be voted off. He is omniscient, afterall.
2. He knew Malcolm had two Immunities. He had super-agent training in psychological tells. And his X-ray vision enabled him to see the inner workings of Malcolm’s mind.
3. He was eliminated because no one would listen to him. They displeased him. He should have enforced a more rigorous discipline on them. Maybe next time (and he’s sure that he is at the top of CBS list for returnees, and actually, maybe he is - Damn you EPMB!!) he’ll make them line up three times a day for drilling, address him as “Your Supreme Super Agent SIR!, and begin a formal saluting practice.
4. The Faves alliance did not toe the line like they were ordered to. So any perceived failures are their fault.5. He was pleased with the way he played the game, and very proud of the precedents that he set. Presumably he is talking about his monumental capacity for self-deception, with his ability to conceive and execute thin lies, with his talent for exceptional challenge losing (on purpose), for his irrational decisions to not participate in ICs, and in general for being as big and irritating an idiot as Survivor has ever seen. These are his proudest accomplishments.

Very good. You did, however, forget to mention that in addition to his new line of pink panty fan gear (retch), that he also has a new line of Bulls**t guaranteed to create a water stain at least 6 feet in diameter and cause a mass evacuation of the pool.
All swimwear is soaked it a water soluble dye, so fine a nice clean pool and jump in. Immediately you will be surrounded with a comforting halo of brown and you can be Fillup too!

This is so funny and gave me a much needed laugh.
Perhaps Phillip may be less concerned about winning Survivor than he is about how it could affect his real life. He may have pursued certain positions in his professional life but failed to get them. In his mind this failure was not due to his lack of skill but the failure of his subbordinates to support him. To that end he hopes to use his appearance on Survivor to showcase how he has certain skills and that their effectiveness depends on how his subbordinates support his efforts. Don't you agree?

Even though Phillip announced in a confessional before TC that he was sure to be in F3.
"I knew that it would mean the end of my game, but that is a compliment. They gave up two idols to get me out of there, because I was a physical threat. Everyone knew I was a physical threat and I was playing a very good game. So they had to get rid of me."
1. This didn't have to be the end of his game; it's not like there weren't plenty of people to toss into the fire.
2. Just when was he a physical threat? When they were yanking him along the footrace, or when he sat out IC because he had issues about being under a rectangle of wood with a huge hole in the center?And it just goes downhill from there. lol

Well if the two interviews are any indication, he's managed to convince himself that the only one who played a good game was him, and he threw himself on the pyre to prove it.And yes, that does sound insane. lol
I'll watch the finale, but if he goes wildly delusional at the last TC, I'll skip the "reunion." lol
