I think Crystal fell under the trap of waiting out the auction, hoping for something really, really good. But you can't do that, because you don't know how many items there will be.

A lot of good that clue did for Corinne...she would have been better off hoping to
win a bowl of pasta. Although the bowl of pasta probably would have blind-sided
her.

Good observation. Prior Survivor auctions ended with a letter from home and in Guatemala even included using the money to buy time with a loved one who came to visit. I believe Crystal has a child at home so you could hardly blame her.

But I agree that it is a big risk holding out for something that may not happen. Especially this auction with no boobie prizes and no grand finale (sorry...a chocolate chip cookie is not a grand finale).

She cannot keep me fascinated with this bunch of misfits, of whom she is one. I had high hopes for this woman but they were dashed when she was climbing the hill in episode one and blamed her shoes; I'm guessing she wore shoes in the Olympics, so she should have been prepared for this dilemma.

I agree Dakota, a "B" list celebrity with a pocket full of excuses left me cold as well. She looks pretty good now and I certainly didn't expect her to be at top form but really, the shoes were too heavy? We've never heard her talk about her premier athlete status (other than her intro) or that she was going to lay back as to not be considered a threat. That would have made some sense, I would have held back for that reason. She's had no endurance and regardless of the harsh food & environment during the course of the game she didn't have it coming out of the box.
