I can't be the only one who thinks Paschal is an old coot. I can't think of specifics, but the guy seems to me like another dumbass like Rudy, only without the charm or the wit. I can imagine him pointing the camera to his face and saying "I dunno" just like Rudy did. Only instead of being funny, it would be sad.
