A couple of things that just make me go *wahh?*

Last night, one team finds the map clue 'early'. They appear (but with the editing, who knows) to keep this a secret. But lo-and-behold, all three teams get to skip the Eiffel Tower task. Why not have them all go to the Tower, make them find the Statue, then give the *PRODUCT PLACEMENT* Motorolla call to direct the one team to the cars?

BTW ... why the British/Canadian spelling of "colour" in the *PRODUCT PLACEMENT* clue?

Also, what is with the lame possible 'answer' in the viewer question.
1776
1800
1885
1900
2006?? You've got to be kidding. Anyone who couldn't think back 8 months and remember the Statue of Liberty was already there not only doesn't deserve winning $10K, they don't deserve being able to use dangerous electronic equipment like cell phones (they may get their fingers stuck between the keys or poke their eye out when they flip it open!)
1876 would have been a better distractor. It is close to the right answer and some might think the Statue was a gift to celebrate the 100th anniversary of independence.

British English has a lot of French influence. Canada copies British spelling for the most part, though a lot of American spelling is accepted here as well (we're bi-lingual English and French, as well as England English and American English.) The French word for colour is couleur, easily changed to 'colour' in British English way back when. The 'u' was dropped in American spelling. Since the sign was in France, they most likely used the British spelling, call it the European influence.

Bonjour, you just got to love living in Canada where everyone needs to handle French weather they are French or not, and three styles of English (Canadian, American and British) and that is before you need to handle Canadian (eh) and American dialects.

It is a wonder that newcomers from non-English lands even learn how to speak here.

Oh, yes. We need a basher thread. I can't believe that just as I fully warm up to Team USA and start cheering them on to make it to the final three, that they could take such a good second place lead and lose it all. Good thing I am not a baseball fan too, the girls did as bad as the Blue Jays having a 2-0 lead for the first 8 innings and then losing 5-2 in the last one.

What were they think, or in this case - not thinking?
