PLEASE NOTE: The Reality TV World Message Boards are filled with desperate
attention-seekers pretending to be one big happy PG/PG13-rated family. Don't
be fooled. Trying to get everyone to agree with you is like herding cats,
but intolerance for other viewpoints is NOT welcome and respect for other
posters IS required at all times. Jump in and play, and you'll soon find out
how easy it is to fit in, but save your drama for your mama. All members are
encouraged to read the
complete guidelines.
As entertainment critic Roger
Ebert once said, "If you disagree with something I write, tell me so, argue
with me, correct me--but don't tell me to shut up. That's not the American way."

Actually, this is a great idea. I've heard this idea mentioned on other sites too. It can't be any worse than the Game Show Network or Travel network etc. And there are lots of times when I long for the days of watching classic Survivor or TAR episodes.

ABC Family channel has been repeating the ABC reality shows (Celebrity Mole, Bachelor/ette) as well as doing some original reality programming (My life is a sitcom) so they probably wouldn't be getting those. I personally like going back and rewatching some of these shows from the perspective of knowing what we know now. At one time or another I've rewatched all the Survivor shows (except S5, haven't wanted to rewatch that yet).

Fox News had a blurb about this yesterday, also.Considering some of the programming actually on right now, I actually think the concept could work... if they can get the rights to show a lot of the reality shows, like Real World, Survivor, the Big Brothers, etc. I don't know how long it would last, but I think there are more than enough reality TV shows and possibly enough interest.

...is will "Love Cruise" be available for airing? And maybe the US will finally see the end of shows like "No Boundaries" and "Lost" (I know these aren't on other crappy digital cable channels, but I doubt anyone noticed) I think the international shows would be the best part of this channel... a chance to see the original Swedish Survivor, some of the British reality shows, Big Brother's from all over the world (although dubbing might be an issue), etc. You're not going to get any of the Real World, Road Rules, etc. stuff though, because then what would MTV air most of the time! (although, I'm not clear on this, but I do remember something about them "retiring" the first four Real World seasons off about a year or so ago)

I'd love to see The Mole and Big Brother, etc. from other countries. I was in London while the last part of their first Big Brother was on and I really enjoyed it. Plus we hear so much about how The Mole is really big in some of the other countries.

6. "No Real World" |
LAST EDITED ON 04-29-03 AT 02:08 PM (EST)The interview also inplies that they will focus on the pop-culture reality shows and stay away from the more documentary-type shows, aka, The Real World. When it launches, I'll sign up. Interestingly, now that I have achieved the next level of DAWdom - "Reality Show Commentator," - looks like I'm now eligibale to work there, too.

We should have started a pool to see when this would finally happen. I've been predicting it since S1. Mon
