I'd be devastated if somehow Hok were in the bottom three but at the same time I would love it just because we'd get to see him really do his thing. I suspect we wont get to see that for a few weeks depending on what he draws and how much work he's put in on the other styles in the three years he's been trying out.

The routine was interesting but I wasn't feeling it completely. I really didn't like the outfits the girl were wearing. With the makeup and everything they didn't look very feminine at all but maybe that was the point.
Love the guys outfits and hairstyles though.

I'm not surprised you got it...I love all of his dance numbers, but they contain a very similar flavor to them. If you look at tonight's number, yesterday's number, and the zombie number from last season you can see some of the same elements. Still love it though.

it's a relatively new song and I had no idea who sang it but I have heard it on the radio and like the song. The performance was great with the dancing but trying to dance and sing at the same time just wasn't cutting it. Or maybe he's just a sucky singer, that's the first time I'd seen him so dont really know.

I was wondering about that, too. Knocking off what was two of her "favorite dancers"
But, we have to remember editing. Maybe they were among the first that she saw, and found people she liked better. Did they consult with Mia before the judging? I think they had their decisions already made before the show even started.
The reason I'm wondering about all of this is that the judges would know long before the show was starting who the bottom 6 were. I wonder if they had a confab with the different choreographers to find out who was easy to work with, who was more difficult, etc.
And.....there is also the ratings issue. There seemed to be a lot of Ricky haters out there — on this board at least — and that could have something to do with it. Nigel's reason for letting Ricky go was lame beyond belief.
I'm not so heartbroken over Ashlee. I think there may have been a lack of depth with her that lead to that decision. It was sad to lose her, but I liked the other two as well.

I rewatched the Wednesday night's show and was paying attention to Nigel's comments. You could have almost predicted who was going home by what he said - he loved Dominic's personality, he loved Cedric's fluidity (and gave Cedric and Faina extra pimping by saying "I don't think you're going home,") but totally slammed Ricky and Ashlee for the height problem (which he probably had a hand in!) So yah, I think they knew ahead of time who they wanted to leave.
Ashlee deserved to go home. Her dance was the weakest. But there was something else going on with Ricky (behind the scenes?) I thought he was the best of the three men: conspriracy theory - maybe they even planned it to happen that way so they could get rid of him!

I wasn't so put out with Ashlee heading out. Good dancer? Check. Good looking? Double check. Then, she opened her mouth and that was it for me.
As far as the guys go? Not entirely suprised to see Ricky go (look up), but disappointed nonetheless. Especially when they re-capped his earlier performances...the boy has talent, no question.
I wonder if it might have been different if they weren't saddled with the "Agentinian Tango" on night #1? Seems kinda unfair to me.

I think being saddled with each other was what did them in. The height different totally destroyed their performance which otherwise was very decent.
I noticed that as the credits were rolling there was a disclaimer about the partnering and status of the dancers.

Women:
I agree with you all that I was not impressed at all with Ashlee's performance...the music was horrible and I don't think she showcased her talent enough especially when comparing her to the other two women solos. I agree with the judges when they sent her packing.
Men:
I'm actually shocked to say this since I don't like Ricky, but I think he actually performed better than Dominic in the solo round and was surprised to see the judges send Ricky home. I think Dominic's going to have to step-up his game to stay in the game much longer.

And, I think Dominic is definitely a "one-trick pony," as Nigel said. When DH (who only half-watches the show) says, "He just made those same moves," all I can say is, "Oops." Dominic better be hot next week, or he'll be toast.
