2. "RE: 10:00-11:00pm" |
So, I am all about starting a more recent thread, but I really wanted to comment on the last post on the 4:00 - 5:00 thread, so I will quote AyaK when needed .We know that Jack Bauer will be back in Season 8, which is set six weeks after the day of Season 7. This made me smile. On every Monday, sometime before the chime of 24, DH will turn to me and say, "So... do you think Jack will die tonight?" It is certainly a stupid inside joke, seeing as how 24 simply is not 24 without Jack! I cannot bear the thought of being without him and I will probably stop watching if they try to continue without him at some point. So there is no suicide mission in Season 7 for Jack, but we also know that Jack gets sick (or, at least, that Renee tells Kim that Jack is sick in a later episode during this season). Wait! Did I miss something? When did Renee talk to Kim? As far as evil Olivia, leaking the "Jack Bauer murdered Senator Meyer" story was a huge mistake, because not even the FBI believes it any longer. Since Larry Moss only told his staff and Ethan Kanin, and Ethan only told it Allison and Olivia, it pretty much fingers Olivia as the source of the leak, doesn't it? Yes it certainly does. Hopefully mommy isn't completely blinded by excitement that her daughter is back in her life. Olivia could try to point the finger at some unknown "mole" within the FBI. Lol, clearly I do not like this girl!

You just had to know that Greg was too good to be true - still need to fill 8 more hours and finding the weapon this week just wasn't in the cards. With this failure it's time for Jack to get back in the hunt - maybe he and Renee will take off on their own again? Chloe and Morris have to get back on track again soon don't they? Didn't Olivia look a little sick when it was revealed Jack hadn't killed the senator and his aide? I still think it's all about her and some of her own agenda and not Starkwood. Finally how does Jack's health agenda resolve - since season 8 comes not long after the end of this one does that mean it's going to be a slow moving process that will allow him one more day? Just wondering... 2002 IceCat Originals, Inc. All rights reserved.

Olivia did look a little sick, but that look was removed when that look of reveling in power took over!!!! Did she forget that what she said is going to be broadcast? She must have because she didn't run for a phone to cancel what she had said!!!!! Idiot!!!! Hoisted by her own pitard!!! Or whatever!!! Anyway, can someone help me out here? I only look forward to this show all week, but I was multi-tasking in the middle of it. I saw dot ... dash .... dot .... dash. In other words, I watched intermittently. What happened when that chick showed Jack his blood work? I thought it was good that the door was opened, but obviously ... not???? That's why he couldn't go on the FBI mission? And the mission I missed. I saw that Tony went with the guy to his office and got a secure line and they called in and that putz Janice Gold actually asked if he wanted to take a call from Tony Almeida????!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What??!!! What's with her character?? She sure isn't wrapped too tight!!! What's he gonna say, "Tony Almeida??? Oh, gee, NAYYYYYY, make up an excuse and tell him I'll call him back later!!!" But anyways, they get the coordinates and then after that ... er ... missed what happened!!! I guess they attacked Starkwood? Did the Prez mom give permission??? I caught sight of Voight's face. I'm assuming he knew they were attacking? Did he do anything? Move the weapons? So I need to know: 1. Blood work result. Heard the description of what the pathogen was. Jack's toast? 2. What happened after the call to the FBI telling them the weapo position??? Is Tony still with that mystery man? Did they separate as to not cause suspicion???

Supposedly, >he has only 1-2 days >to live. > --------------------------------------------- Aw crap! I knew it though!!============================================================ >>2. What happened after the call to the FBI telling them >>the weapo position??? Is Tony still with that mystery man? >>Did they separate as to not cause suspicion??? > >Greg Seaton's help for Tony was >all part of Hodges' plot. > Remember back at the >start of the episode, when >Hodges said that Almeida wouldn't >break and you'd need a >different strategy with him? >Everything Seaton did was faked >to lead the FBI into >a trap long enough for >Hodges to weaponize the pathogen. > The guy leading the >Skarkwood troops that ambush the >FBI? Stokes, the guy >Seaton supposedly shot. -------------------------------- NICE TWIST!!! So cool!!! I wouldn't have guessed that one, and didn't!!!! I'm back to thinking it's going to be a suicide mission for Jack. If the FBI troops are trapped by this bioweapon with this pathogen, who else would dismantle it??? Jack's already toast? What's he gonna do? Get sick? He already is? Poor Jack!!! But he can't die!!!! They don't have anybody to take his place!!! Everyone watches to see him. So he does the suicide mission and exposes Jon Voight to the gas and then ... then ... hmmmm ... does Starkwood have an antidote? They did develop the weapon???? THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU FOR THE RECAP!!!!!!!!!

Olivia is a ho on top of everything else???!!!! Oh, jeessshhh!!! I am confused about one thing though - that story she gave Ken. Is that his name? Wasn't there a deadline connected with that story and weren't they running with it? The original one where Jack had killed the Senator. Why didn't that run? I don't remember her making a call to him? I remember her face being ashen when she was with momma bear and learned that it wasn't Jack that was responsible. Also if momma bear knows that Jack wasn't involved, why doesn't she just get back her Sec'y of State and tell Olivia to take a hike? In the original conversation he had with her, he said his resignation would be on her desk in the morning. Now if he exhibited good judgment and not bad judgment in having Jack brought back into things, then ?????? Really, that story about Jack being a blood-thirty killer should have been splattered all over the media. Unless I missed something - and I was multi-tasking last Monday. Anyone? Is this story fraying? I hope not. I hate loopholes and not having things make sense just to keep a character around. Especially one as scummy as Olivia. The scumbag we love to hate!!!!

>As far as I know, the >"Jack story" ran. Olivia >even made a comment last >night as to how she'd >already given the reporter one >story that day. ----------------- Yes, definitely heard her say that, but that begs the question if it ran! If it ran, then the Prez wasn't apprised of that story being leaked? Maybe even Ethan would contact her and tell her! It would mean someone leaked it and I'm sure he has that ax he'd love to grind - right in Olivia's behind! Or a press secy? Did the press secy get offed in the takeover? This doesn't make any sense that someone wouldn't have told the Prez that a major leak took place within the past hour!!! And it all falls right on Olivia's skanky shoulders!!!! ================== > >Would Ethan (chief of staff, not >Sec. of State) un-resign as >a result of the story >being false? No. >That would be up to >the President, and generally you >want to have someone in >your administration volunteer to be >thrown under the bus when >you have a day of >disasters, as this day would >have been for the Taylor >White House. > ------------- Thrown under a bus???!!!! I nominate, "OLIVIA!!!" =================== >By resigning, Ethan has given outsiders >someone to blame for the >problems of the day. >Of course, Ethan would normally >stay around the administration in >some fashion since he resigned >as a result of something >that didn't really happen; he'd >just be placed in a >different role. > >And Allison Taylor wanted to keep >her daughter around. She >fails to realize that she >failed as a parent even >more than she has failed >as president. -------------------- Alright, this means I will NEVER vote for another Prez that has kids!!!! They're probably spoiled, ho, skank brats just like Olivia!!! Not voting for them if they're married either!!!! Yes, but the fact remains she would realize it was her skank offspring if the story had run and someone had bothered to tell her!!!! Why isn't Jack watching the news??? He's been moping about, might as well put him to some use!!! What about Chloe and her husband in the conference room? They could watch!!! I really don't see how this story could have escaped their attention if it ran!!! And as far as Jack goes, I see him having a showdown with Hodges.

LAST EDITED ON 04-14-09 AT 05:52 PM (EST)Actually, I loved last week's episode. And I was enraptured by tonight's episode until the "Tony twist." Now I know why production was shut down after this episode for script patches; they had to go back and make sure there weren't any blatant inconsistencies in the earlier episodes re Tony, as well as make sure that this all ended up as a pre-planned scheme of Tony's. That means that everything involving Bill and Chloe was a setup by Tony as well. So why did Tony steal the bioweapon? And for whom? And why was he so interested in Kim seeing Jack (yeah, I noticed that too)? But look at the pile of implausibilities here. Tony had to be captured by Starkwood so he could be part of the FBI raid so he could be left behind, but he was only left behind because of the call by Jack to Doug -- how could that have been anticipated? For that matter, how could Tony have known any of what happened, including Jack's involvement? Without Jack being hooked into the FBI through Renee, all of the "rump CTU" activities look pretty stupid. Oh well, time to just go with the flow and see how this works out. *MINI SPOILER* Tony is apparently involved with the blonde lawyer that we saw in the previews talking to Jonah. And Carlos Bernard says that the plan was always for Tony to be duplicitous and evil.

Tony had to be captured by Starkwood so he could be part of the FBI raid so he could be left behind, but he was only left behind because of the call by Jack to Doug -- how could that have been anticipated? ------------ Why would that have to be anticipated? Maybe he was playing things by ear? Remember we still don't know who he's working for - or what their purpose is. Is it part of the bigger cabal? Remember Hodges mentioning that his operation was the tip of the iceberg? Is Tony part of this overseer group? ================= For that matter, how could Tony have known any of what happened, including Jack's involvement? Without Jack being hooked into the FBI through Renee, all of the "rump CTU" activities look pretty stupid. ------------------ Don't understand this. What did Tony know that he shouldn't have known? I don't remember him saying anything about something that he didn't have knowledge of?
========================== Oh well, time to just go with the flow and see how this works out. ------------- EXACTLY!!! It has to be determined what group he's aligned with and what he's doing. Remember he's the one with the tip that led to finding out about the attack on the Prez! He said he was in contact with people that said the plane thing wasn't the end of it!!! Was Hodges out of control? Remember Hodges killed off his "partner" when he got in the way? Did the people over Hodges think he was expendable or had gotten a little too big? We don't know. Or it could be a group is trying to bring down the people over Starkwood. It looks like Hodges gets out so is the bioweapon going to be used against them. The other possibility is that Tony is a mercenary whose services go to the highest bidder. It could be why he keeps apparently switching sides. Then again, if you're being watched - which he wasn't when he hotwired those Starkwood missiles - he had to follow through and play the part he's pretending to be. Now if the plot twist doesn't explain his destroying the missiles carrying the bioweapon at Starkwood while keeping a supply for himself - that's going to be a problem!!! As stated, he wasn't being watched at STarkwood and could easily have not done anything and said, Oops, didn't have time - or I was being watched - or there was no opportunity - or any number of things!!! Who would know? No one! But he went out of his way to complete that mission, but part of the mission that the FBI was not aware of was squirreling away that hidden amount of the bio weapon. Hmmmmm.... I love this series!!! Best thing on TV at the present moment!!!

What did Tony know that he shouldn't have known? I don't remember him saying anything about something that he didn't have knowledge of?I believe Tony is supposed to have known about the bioweapon all the time. As I noted above, the writers stopped production to rework the scripts for episodes 19 and 20 in an effort to have this sequence make sense. We'll see how well they did shortly. Is Tony part of this overseer group? Whenever I see the term "overseer", I think of the short-lived TV show Alien Nation. If you saw the show, you'd understand. If not, I can't explain it adequately. But I don't think Tony is higher on the "food chain" of the cabal than Emerson was.

Well, why wouldn't Tony have known about the bioweapon? Wasn't he with Jack at the site where the bioweapon was unloaded? Wasn't that where Jack decided to not let the security guard get blown away? Jack drove off in the truck and Tony got captured? So can we agree on this point: Tony couldn't be a member of Starkwood - or at least Hodge's Starkwood - because he wouldn't have been tortured. And he wouldn't have been set-up to tell Jack about what was going on at Starkwood? So any logical script would have to tell us why Tony would be against Starkwood having the bioweapon, but also have to explain why Tony thought it was fine to steal some for another group? And this group must be either who he works for or who is paying him? Can we also agree Olivia is a skanky ho? Just threw that in. As for the overseer group, it doesn't matter what you call them. I don't know their name because I don't know who Tony is working for. I assume it would make sense since Hodges brought up this William Cooper-size conspiracy in that Starkwood wasn't the key player, but only a cog in the wheel of a larger group. Would hierarchy be better? Ringleaders? I don't see why it would matter and still don't see why the script is not making sense if Tony always knew. I was multi-tasking that one episode so it may be I missed something, but things are fitting into place. Oh, except for that news story ... did that run? If it didn't why? If it did why doesn't anyone know?

If it had been written well lastnight I would have been saying "I hate Tony". Instead, because of sloppy writing, I was saying "I hate the writers". Personally, I wish they'd left Tony dead (I'm sure Carlos Bernard is glad to receive a paycheck, but...). They've taken a strong, loved character and made him into a weakly written villian. Tony will always be the guy from Season 4 that comes in with guns blazing when Jack calls for help. And dammit, I'm really tired of Jeananne Garafalo's character, blah. Bring back Chloe. Yeah, there are a lot of points that one just has to overlook. For example the distances (especially in earlier seasons) that Jack et.al. have to cover each hour. Isn't Chloe still under arrest somewhere? I'm waiting for Garafelo's emergence as an embedded villan. There have been little hints of that as a possibility, so it probably won't happen. But the symmetry of her being arrested as Chloe is released seems like something the producers might go for. 24 hours, for me, has been like a heroin habit.

I was secretly hoping for Jack to waterboard her butt.

We're "set" for Jack to be in a place in the last Ep to kill Tony now, fulfilling his words of warning. I have a problem with the writers doing that - has it has already been said (just above here) that Tony has a place of "hero". If they force Jack to kill Tony - I'll feel bad for both and the season will leave a carp-like-taste in my mouth to not bother with it again. I would think that would be the case with most fans. So - could Tony be a double-double, and knew Larry was bad??? There’s just no way out of where they have written this…

>>Yep, Moss is dead and Tony is bad. > >...and the plot went down just >as I feared: Tony was >apparently a safeguard by "Mr. >Bigbadguy" (Will Patton) against the >patriotic but somewhat deranged Jonas >Hodges at Starkwood. And >the entire line in the >preview from Tony about "one >more shock pushing America over >the edge" seems to indicate >that Mr. Bigbadguy wants a >political solution to Allison Taylor >-- but, if that's the >case, then why not just >let Zuma kill her? >Well, I think this episode might have answered your question. If Allison Taylor were dead, she'd be replaced, but by who? Someone equally uncontrollable? By getting a toehold on the skank Olivia (God, it's so much fun to hate that skank!!! Great character!!), they can now blackmail Olivia into doing things for them. Influencing their mother, passing them secrets, etc. I think it was crucial to force her to send the money. I think up until then it was circumstantial evidence, but now ... ???? In spite of what that guy said, don't think she should have done it. How do you erase a bank transfer from a computer? Isn't it in the bank records? Didn't the FBI do searches on what money had been transferred to whom in tracking down the person that might be aiding this rogue army in its agenda? Not very bright. As for Tony, I have mixed feelings. I'm LOVING the story, but yeah, I loved Tony and don't like that he's really scummy now. I'll have to see how it goes. And I knew that couple was bad news!!! What is it with Kim??? Didn't she learn anything from her dad???? Yeah, let me sit with the hired gun couple and even make their job easy by pointing out who my dad asked to watch me....???? Yikes!!!! She needs to be wearing a leash and collar at all times and stay tethered in the backyard because when she goes anywhere ... SHE GETS HERSELF INTO TROUBLE!!!!!!!! Anyway, I love the writing. Love that Aaron is onto the skank and look forward to see how the heck Jack saves his clueless daughter and exact revenge on his old pal, Tony, who is lookin' mighty smug these days!!!! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!
