Four days of:Attacking other players (generally with clubs) Refusing to take shots because everyone around you hasn't approved your swing Placing the blame for every bad putt on the rest of the field, the groundskeepers, the course designer, and America Deliberately tearing up the course followed by saying that in order to make it safe for the next generation of players, it was necessary to destroy it now Ignoring all rules because you didn't personally have a hand in writing them Doing absolutely nothing related to golf in any way Demanding to get paid for it What can they say? The setting was inspirational.

... and Rory McIlroy has broken a few more records:-14, lowest to par score at any time in a US Open, and also the record for lowest score to par after 3 rounds. Total number of strokes in 3 rounds: 199, first to break under 200 strokes at this point in a US Open.
His playing partner will again be Y. E. Yang, who's at -6.

I've always gone with the school of thought that says 'When the USGA says they're going to identify the best golfers in the world, take out 'identify' and replace it with 'humiliate'.' They use every trick in the book plus a few they'd never allowed to be published in order to keep the winning score as close to (or above) par as possible. -14 over three rounds will strike their course redesigner as a massive failure -- and next year's group will pay the price.

We've got a new rivalry, ladies and gentlemen.Amidst all the tongue-bathing going on, Padraig Harrington predicted that McIlroy will eventually beat Jack's record of 18 majors. Another called him the best golfer he's ever seen. Yet another said he is the best 20-something golfer he's ever seen. All three had to know they were tweaking Tiger's nose as they've played with him or seen him play on numerous occasions. Prediction: This is going to fire up Tiger and he will come back, determined to prove something and show he's not going to relinquish the title of "biggest name in golf" just yet. I used to believe that Tiger would still come back and find a way to win four more majors to tie Jack, but now I think while Tiger will still play well enough to win a couple more majors, some of the other majors he could have won will now go to Rory. We'll be in for a fun rivalry over the next 4-5 years before Tiger starts to hit the downward fade for good once he gets to 40.

Tiger's days as #1 are now officially OVER if McIlroy stays healthy, and he can't do jack $hit about it. I wouldn't put it past Tiger to win another major or 2, but there's a better chance it will be McIlroy, not Woods, who beats Jack's record of 18 pro majors. Karma always gets you if you deserve it, and methinks karma's just getting started with one Eldrick Woods.
