"RE: NCAA BB: 2011 Tourney Pick'em" Scoring is always a conundrum for me when I set up leagues. In the case of March Madness, you are balancing overall % of correct answers vs. getting the final weekend right. If you go with a straight or progressive scoring system, then you are rewarding getting the first weekend right more than the last weekend (as the first weekend gives you a max of 64 points in the progressive and the last gives you 16). This will mean that the winner will have a better overall % right but could have worked up an insurmountable lead going into the final weekend. Of course, that could happen anyway, especially if you don't have the correct final. With default, you pretty much need to have the overall winner to win. In the past, I've gone with a Fibonacci scoring as an attempt at a happy medium. The scoring by round for that would go 1,2,3,5,8,13 or 2,3,5,8,13,21. The key is that each round's games is worth the same as the two previous rounds. I've also been involved in a couple of crazy schemes where the points were seed*round. I thought that was a little crazy but it's definitely different. All this to say, it's your call and I'm happy to play regardless of the rules you play.
