"SBOT NASCAR - Dover"
Congratulations to our winners from last week! Kingfish and Nutzy tied for first in the Pick 43 (they must be comparing notes. ) and somehow, I managed to come in first in the regular game.

It has been a heck of a week in NASCAR. First, Clint Bowyer and RCR were fined 150 points when Bowyer's car failed the follow-up inspection after last week's race. His crew chief and car manager were fined $150,000 each, and suspended for 6 weeks. NASCAR won't release many details, but Richard Childress maintains that the car was off by less than a 1/16 of an inch. The 150 point fine levied against Bowyer dropped him from 2nd place in the standings to 12th.

Then on Friday, Denny Hamlin had this to say about his runner-up finish last week "I'm not too discouraged with what we ended up with , but I know we were the fastest legal car." He went on to say "In the garage, everyone has known it for months -- it's not two weeks old. This is something that's been going on for months. They've been warned for a long time, way before Richmond. They knew it was wrong way before and I felt like they wanted to get everything they could. What did they have to lose, really? You almost can't fault them for that."

Alrighty then.

Needless to say, that ruffled a few feathers over at RCR, and today during practice, Bowyer's teammate Kevin Harvick "appeared" to deliberately run into the back of Hamlin's car, sending both of them to the garage where heated words were exchanged and the drivers had to be separated by cup series director John Darby. Darby talked with both teams, and NASCAR says they aren't planning on issuing any penalties for the incident. Both teams will be racing with damaged cars on Sunday. Considering Hamlin and Harvick are in first and second place in the standings, this could harm both of them. Hamlin says they need to put the whole thing behind them and get back to the business of racing, but I think we all know that there's too much bad blood involved now for that to happen.

This week the feud continues at Dover International Speedway.
