LAST EDITED ON 03-04-13 AT 07:45 PM (EST)Proof copy. Here, I just want to thank my sophomore high-school English teacher, Ms Wingfield. I still have our grammar and usage book in my library. Oh, she was a tough cookie, having us rewrite a paper throughout an entire semester, all five revisions. From her we learned the power of ruthless proofing and editing, with the first copy completely transformed by the time of the fifth copy. And what's wonderful about her is that she also had us write free-form open journals, not at all subject the rules of grammar, style or prose. Just write! I filled pages and pages of prose, poetry, Mad magazine style humor and whatever else struck my mind. Write your mind, write your heart, write your spirit. She was a very kind lady and mindful teacher who I will always remember fondly. Yes, I shamelessly broke some grammatical rules within this post, but sometimes what is being said is more important than the conventions by which it is said.
