"The birthers try a new angle."
Actually, I'm rooting for them on this one. I want to see them get the President removed from the Kansas ballot. And then I want to see them get him removed from every other state's ballot. (With the exception of weak-minded Arizona, which folded early.) And then I would like to have Romney sweep nearly one hundred percent of the vote all the way into the White House, thus achieving the ultimate Tea Party dream:

Turning the United States into Soviet Russia.

Because when you're the only people who are right, you should be the only party which can exist.

Well, it is Kansas, and his name is just taking up space on the ballot anyway. I'm sure the handful of Democrats can figure out how to write the name in.

*sigh*

Maybe I shouldn't be, but I seem to be constantly shocked by how unaware of how what they are doing is perceived by anyone with half a neuron that works?

I know, I know, you have to have some level of competence to be able to tell you are completely and totally off the deep end of failure.

This is one of those situations where it is almost easier to believe in the conspiracy that it is Democrats sabotaging the tea party to make them look bad than they are actually crazy enough to do this in public where people can see what they are doing.

It isn't that I'm surprised that people may feel there will never be enough proof, what gets me is that they would do something so public about it.

This tactic suggests they don't feel very confident that they can win without finding some way to ensure people can't vote for the other guy.

If so, Kansas starts to seem like a weird test case. Sure, you want to take this tactic out for a trial run in a place where you're likely to get it across the finish line -- but the election is still ultimately based in electoral votes. The President wasn't likely to get Kansas even if his name was at the top of a butterfly ballot in a twenty-point font. In the event that this worked only once or twice, I'd want to knock out a state where he had a legitimate chance to pick up the electors. Somewhere with a GOP-controlled legislature, but lots of Democratic voters.

*nods*

Every prediction I've seen has Kansas as Strongly going for Romney (things like 99% likely to go for Romney and Romney winning by 21% or so)

So in the scheme of things, doesn't mean much for this election, if Kansas is the only place they pull it off this election.

Although the question is will they just stop with Kansas (they may be coming here before heading up to Estee) or is this trying to set things up for future elections more than this one.

Turning the United States into Soviet Russia.

Well, not quite, as the Soviets were godless.

What we'd see is a return of the all-powerful theocratic Medieval Papacy, elected by the Electoral College of Cardinals.

Then the Mormon Mitt might find himself usurped and accused of heresy by the Catholic Ryan.

So, Pussy Riot won't be coming to Kansas once their jail term is up?

LAST EDITED ON 09-14-12 AT 02:39 PM (EST)

And another woman in Ohio tried to get Obama's name removed because she questioned his Social Security number.

She had thought that the first 3 numbers were an indicator of which state you were born in, but she did not know they changed that back in 1972.

My favorite line from the article: "If you have ever wondered who falls for this nonsense, you now have your answer. Scared white senior citizens who can’t believe that a black man could be legitimately elected president are the people who are most prone to believe this birther silliness."

16. "Withdrawn"
But that doesn't mean the board is going to stop the investigation as they need to have a hearing about accepting the withdrawl, so we will see if they keep it up.

Withdrawn because apparently the discussion that it started is not "constructive".

What "constructive" dialog did he think this was going to start? Apparently he didn't think anyone would call his office or his friends and colleagues and inquire about the state of his IQ and emotional life.

Did see where the board is apparently concerned that Obama's campaign just sent a letter saying the matter had been settled, already, like a hundred times. They expected the President to show up and hang out from the time the thing was filed until all the meetings are done? Or spend the money to send one of his advisers to be at the board's beck and call?

Really, if you think the accusations are ridiculous why would one spend anything but the least amount of effort on them. Mounting a full scale invasion of Obama campaign staffers would only make it seem they think the accusations are credible. Who would do that? What response did they expect?

Up next, will they be able to keep Rosanne Barr off their ballot for President.
