"A Blatant Plea for Help" |
LAST EDITED ON 09-13-12 AT 10:41 AM (EST)And I'm hoping a certain favorite DAW will be able to lead the charge... I've registered my school in the mycokerewards program, and would really really really really really love for the kind folks out here to donate points. Step 1: Send me a PM so I can give you my school name. Step 2: Go to Donate to School and plug in the info. Step 3: Give! Of course, you could also PM me the codes directly... Thank you for your support!

1. "RE: A Blatant Plea for Help" |
*groan* Y'know you put this up just before I was going to find the MCR thread and post my annual Monopoly begathon? Since Molaholic didn't post the rules for school coordinators (and I'm assuming that he is the official one for that facility), here's how school rewards work -- as I understand them. Because I'm not registered for that part of the program, I only know the rules by pass-along and things may have changed since I was last briefed. (Moley, please correct all errors?) 1. The school coordinator (SC) may personally input up to two hundred codes per day. These codes may be of any value, but anything over #200 has to wait until tomorrow. So a truly active program can ring up six hundred points (200 caps) a day all by themselves -- or even more if some label codes are thrown into the mix. However, in practical terms, unless the school has parents happily donating bags of caps every week, this isn't likely to happen. Still, it's the SC's job to rally the troops and try for codes from all the families involved. Success levels on this -- vary. 2. Additionally, as noted, people may donate points to a chosen school from their own accounts. Of course, this requires having your very own account. In practical terms, if you can personally get more than 120 points per week (the normal limit for standard MCR members), it makes more sense to just give the SC codes directly. If the SC is receiving more than 200 codes daily, that's when the local parents should open accounts and donate. Those of us at a distance can do whatever we feel like. 3. Schools may redeem for rewards as per usual. Points in SC accounts may (as far as I know) only be used in the School catalog. There are also School-exclusive sweepstakes which allow SCs to waste points in futile attempts to win money or equipment for their facility. Currently, there's only one available. http://www.mycokerewards.com/schoolSweeps.do?WT.ac=mnuS_SW 4. What does the School catalog look like? This. http://www.mycokerewards.com/school-catalog?userSelectedSort=true&sorts=PA&itemsPerPage=1000 Note the points costs: it takes mountains of caps to get anything major done. This is why SCs don't have the standard points limit -- at a normal member's 120 per week, it would take years to reach the most expensive rewards. Even the 'richest' standard members might have trouble affording the Super Field Day Pack. But an SC with a large number of parents behind hir at least has a chance. I personally don't find the Schools catalog to be all that fantastic, but it could definitely defray a few costs while adding some extra equipment, mostly to the P.E. and science departments. Every dollar saved... 5. Bonus codes may work normally: I don't know if anyone's ever tried. I'm not sure if double point days on given brands work for school accounts -- again, no data reported. 6. Remember: everything in that catalog can be reached. But it takes a massive effort to do it. This is the mountain which a bird sharpens its beak on once a year. The mountain eventually gets worn away -- but that bird had better be dedicated, and more frequent trips wouldn't hurt. 7. If Molaholic is serious about this, then his pain will be greater than mine... but so is his potential.

I recommend backlighting caps with a small LED flashlight. Unless they're black caps. Then you're screwed.

You do know Coke Zero is double points through Halloween when you put in one Kraft/Nabisco UPC code for each cap, right? Good way to find out if the bonus programs work for schools.

Moley - the Coke drinker in the family died and the rest of us drink water or tea. Sorry. But if I ever find the urge to go dumpster diving I'll keep you in mind!

Our site (the teachers' lounge) is supplied by a Coca-Cola rep, so no boxes to deal with (but plenty of caps...). Now if I could only get more teachers to bring me those aforementioned caps.

13. "McDonald's Monopoly: starts tomorrow." |
With 900,000 MCR bonus bundles (worth 40 points each) theoretically up for grabs, this is the time to ask your fellow teachers, students, parents, and the general flock to donate the alphanumeric codes from the bottom of losing/non-rare and food winning pieces. There are no school coordinator rules in play that I'm aware of -- you should still be limited to, at most, ten piece plays per day if last year's rules apply -- but it's a chance to get some level of boost for the account. (The rare piece and prize list are in the MCR thread.) BTW, there was initially a limit of five MCR bonus wins per account last year, but it got lifted fairly early. If you do hit a limit, just hold onto any extra winners for a week, then try them again and repeat until the end of the promotion on 11/5. Luck and lack of site crashes.

17. "Southwest, CostCo, Minute Maid." |
The current bonus points programs that can be used to help support Molaholic's cause:Double points on Minute Maid caps (single-sale bottles, not 12-pack of cans or six-packs of bottles) for the rest of this month. If you see 'em, pick 'em up. Sign up to Southwest Rapid Rewards through here -- https://cocacola.promo.eprize.com/swarapidrewards2013/?affiliate_id=banner1#WT.ac=Southwest+Airlines_3_2093+swaRR+bp_15_2_h -- and get a code worth 60 bonus points. I'm pretty sure it's one per account, but the rules might be different for school donations. It's worth trying to get two people doing it just as a test. (Molaholic: you can do this yourself at no cost to get that first code. Just remember not to check any of the Please Bug Me email boxes.) Get a CostCo membership through this site -- https://www.121fulfillment.com/certs/partner/mcr/?cid=_LWLib30EIaubAMT9OCDsw#WT.ac=Costco_3_1301+costco+bp_15_1_h -- and receive a code worth 250 bonus points. Again, I don't know if you can use multiple ones and the site claims it doesn't work for renewals. But if you were going to join anyway...

18. "Molaholic's tongue is stuck to a pole!" |
This is a new bonus points offer from Family Dollar. And like last time, they left a loophole in it you could fit a space shuttle through. For the previous codes, it was allowing the codes to be used once a day. This time, it seems as if any number of bonuses can be gotten through this process: one SlickDealer's already done six -- no, seven: another went in as I was writing this. MCR will catch on as soon as people go into the thousands (and they will), so I don't expect this to last long and I'm not going to cheat on it -- such accounts tend to get shut down. However, Molaholic has a school account. Multiple people can donate bonus codes to him and guess what? It's multiple people donating bonus codes to him. So he should be safe for as many bonuses as people care to pile on, as long as they come from different addresses. The key word here is should. I think he'll be fine with ten or so. A hundred is probably a bad idea. The bad news: it's cooperative: either three people have to assist or you need to jump through a few hoops. Here's the initial link. http://www.familydollar.com/pages/get-stuck.aspx (As per Restless24 at SlickDeals, here's the instructions for doing it all yourself. "1) Click link. 2) Click box to accept terms and conditions. 3) Pick an option on the left to choose a picture(I chose desktop and picked any random picture). 4) When picture loads, click Next twice. 5) Select outfit and click Next. 6) Click email icon on left to "Share It". 7) Enter your same email address for "From" and "To"(no need to enter all 3). 8) Click the email with subject "Help - I'm stuck to a pole" 9) Right click link in email and copy link location or copy shortcut. 10) Paste in browser and click "Help Out!" 11) Repeat process of selecting photo and outfit. 12) Once your person helps out, repeat steps 10 and 11 a few more times until you are unstuck. 13) Check email and you should have a 20 point code.")
