Since Windows platforms use a standard three character extension%2C the %22E%22 was dropped%2C and pictures compressed using this algorithm are known as .jpg files.%0D%0A%0D%0A%0D%0AJpg files were designed to preserve color information for photographic quality images.  However%2C often times graphics %28example%3A your sig pic%29 need much less than photographic quality.  Additionally%2C jpgs were limited in that they could only support still pictures. If you have a digital camera or scanner%2C the software you need comes with them.  Or if you have Microsoft Suite%2C it comes with a photo editor that will resize it for you. You can also resize to some extent in word processing programs %28%22insert%22 an image and than %22drag%22 it to the size you prefer%29.
