I seriously doubt that it%27s in the Windows version you%27re using%2C as my new laptop is the same configuration. It%27s also doubtful %28possible%2C but doubtful%29 that it%27s the McAfee antivirus software. It really seems to me that it must be the firewall. Unfortunately%2C I don%27t use McAfee firewall%2C so I don%27t have access to the configuration guides.%0D%0A%0D%0AThe closest I%27ve come in web searches%2C was a user with the same problem you%27re having%2C except his older gifs played%2C only new ones didn%27t. He tried the same stuff you%27ve tried %28the suggestions above%29. He was using Zone Alarm for his firewall%2C and it did turn out to be a configuration setting.%0D%0A%0D%0AI%27d suggest%2C as a test%2C that you turn off the firewall temporarily and see if animated .gifs play then. But%2C if that doesn%27t work that doesn%27t mean the firewall is off the hook. %28The dude I mention above tried that. Zone Alarm still seemed to interfere with his computer even though it was disabled. He eventually found that there was an animation checkbox within the software that he had to uncheck.%29%0D%0A%0D%0ABesides%2C you won%27t want to leave the firewall off permanently. So%2C eventually you%27re going to need to go through the various configuration settings for McAfee and see if there is one that mentions animation. I do not know what changes it made to my system but it sure did upset everything. I%27d have to turn off the firewall to access parts of this site. My best guess is that when you were working with the %22support%22 folks they may have had you manually add entries to your registry. Did they ever have you go to your Start---%3ERun command%3F If so%2C did they have you type %5Bi%5Dregedit%5B%2Fi%5D%3F%0D%0A%0D%0AThey probably had you add or change something that the Install didn%27t automatically set up. If so%2C the Uninstall doesn%27t know about it and can%27t remove it.
