LAST EDITED ON 10-28-03 AT 02:25 PM (EST)Any points awarded for the currently open "Episode 7" Spoiler Island poll will be based on the events shown in the October 30, 2003 broadcast. The uncertainty of exactly what non-traditional events will be happening in the October 30 broadcast has complicated the possible scoring of the broadcast, however we're trying to do our best to adapt to the situation, and as in previous seasons when there's been a delayed merge, etc., we'll be operating from some basic scoring ground rules: A) If no single individual is voted out of the game via a tribal council session, no bootee points will be awarded. B) If two or more people are voted out of the game via a tribal council session, no bootee points will be awarded. C) If no single individual wins an official individual immunity challenge, then no immunity challenge points will be awarded. D) If no single individual or pair of individuals wins an official individual reward challenge, then no reward challenge points will be awarded. After the October 30 broadcast we'll hopefully gain additional information on how to proceed with the scoring of the events of the subsequent November 6, 2003 "Part 2" of the episode. Our current tentative plan is that if absolutely no Spoiler Island points for the "Episode 7" poll are awarded as a result of the October 30 broadcast, then the likely solution will be to re-open the "Episode 7" poll, allow users to change or modify their picks until the traditional 2PM ET deadline on the day of the Novmber 6 broadcast, and then simply award points based on the November 6 broadcast of the conclusion of Episode 7. If any points do have to be awarded as a result of the October 30 broadcast, then we'll likely simply open a new poll for the November 6 broadcast like we do every other week. -SB

I noticed there were no points given for the bootee this week, even though technically there was only one person voted out: Shawn. Osten wasn't voted out; he quit. In fact that's what the CBS Survivor website says (even though having Osten on your team at CBS Survivor Fantasy League caused you to lose 20 points for being "Voted Off"). In Snewser's Scurvy Dog game, the correct answer to the "Boot" question was Shawn. You got the question wrong if you picked "More than One". Of course, Snewser gave himself two green checkmarks for picking Osten AND Shawn as the bootees, but I guess you can do that if it's your website.Did I vote for Pat Buchanan somehow? Prometheus

>I noticed there were no points given for the bootee this >week, even though technically there was only one person voted >out: Shawn. Osten wasn't voted out; he quit. I disagree... The tribe attended tribal council, after listening to Osten carry on, Jiffy finally said "let's not waste any more time," polled the other four members for votes, they all voted orally that they were voting for Osten, and he then Jiffy extinguished Osten's torch. I don't know how that can not be considered being "voted out of the game via a tribal council session," but for the purposes of the Spoiler Island game is certainly is. By our definition, above Rule B was enacted and no points were awarded for bootee. And since there were also no individual immunity or reward challenges, no points were awarded for those selections either. Therefore, as we had mentioned, we'll be re-opening the Episode 7 game poll for Episode 7 Part 2 scoring -SB

I also wasn't considering it an official "Vote Out". If OT had quit & asked to be taken out of the game...OUTSIDE of TB, THAT would've been a Vote-Off. Kinda like Michael in S2 when he got injured, except he had no choice but to leave, but he wasn't Voted Out. Well, I'm happy to know the EP7 game poll is re-opened. I was rather confused when I cast my vote in Ep7a, b/c there were no Tribe choices, only individual names. So I thought maybe the Merge would happen. I picked Shawn to be voted out, but NO points. Drat. (I did not see your note of explanation until today!) Looking forward to the game poll for EP7b! (BTW, I'm on the RealityFanForum league. Over there, I'm RudyRules. I tried to get that same name here, but found out there's already a RudyRules here!!) LuvRudy

6. "RE: Voting for 10/30/03 AND 11/6 Episode " |
Hi, re: Ep 7b, for the 11/6 voting, the Poll does not give a choice to vote for Drake or Morgan, but only individuals. I dont' think the Merge will happen until Ep8! But even if it does happen in Ep7b...we should still have the choice of voting for Drake or Morgan! Also, both Ep7a and 7b...if we don't have the chance to vote for the TRIBES, but we guess the correct bootee, we should at least get points for that one answer!!!! LuvRudy email: marrajo@aol.com
