No Risk! I can't stand it when a team gets stuck in an airport. It doesn't make for a very gripping episode. I mean, it's still exciting to watch the challenges, but we all knew who were going to be eliminated. I mean, Tammy and Victor would've had to explore that mountain for a loooooong time. It's too bad. Brad and Victoria seemed pretty cool, even though the producers didn't feature them much. Week 3 Results 1st place - Mel/Mike (2x) 2nd place - Amanda/Kris (1.75x) 3rd place - Lakisha/Jennifer (1.5x) 4th place - Margie/Luke (1.25x) 5th place - Mark/Michael (even) 6th place - Christie/Jodi (.75x) 7th place - Cara/Jaime (.5x) 8th place - Tammy/Victor (.25x) 9th place - Brad/Victoria (0x) A Mixed Bag This is the first week that the results were pretty mixed. The previews suggested a lot of trouble for Brad/Victoria, Tammy/Victor, and Amanda/Kris in particular. So it made wagering kinda tricky. As a group, we only gained 200 points, with a paltry 1.12x multiplier. Due to the previews, the Tammy/Victor Fun Club has temporarily disbanded. It's too bad Victor didn't listen to Tammy. He would've saved people some points. This week's Perfect Bet Award goes to two players, KwietOne and esquire who doubled-up with a Mel/Mike wager. The Greatest Gainer Award is a three-way tie. Up until Week 4, the Casino Game will accept new entrants to the game. For a detailed listing of the rules, see the fine print below. 1. Each player in Week 4 starts with 5 points. In every subsequent week, this amount decreases, so join now. Also, these are the only points you get, so don't waste them. Once you run out of points, you're out of the game. 2. Every week, you may choose to wager any or all of your points on the various teams. In previous seasons, there was a cap on the number of points you can wager. In this game, there's no limit. You can wager as many of your points as you want, on as many teams as you want. Regulations are for the auto industry. We're going No Limit this season, folks. 3. You don't have to bet all your points. Any points you don't wager are banked, and will be carried over to the following week without risk. Don't have a good feeling about this week? Then go conservative. Got a hunch on another? All-In, baby. 4. Decimals are evil. Therefore, all wagers must be a whole number. Also, in scoring your entries, all decimal points will be rounded up. It makes the scoreboard prettier that way. No one wants to see a final score of 693.22463 to 612.1935. 5. Absenteeism sucks. If you miss three straight entries, you're eliminated from the game. If you're going to be on vacation, send me a note and I'll keep the records. I'll even take wagers in advance. 6. All entries must be entered before showtime: Sunday, March 8st, 8 PM Eastern Time. Any entries after that time will not be counted. Any edits to an existing entry after the deadline will be penalized. The clock is based on the clock on this message board. I may change the deadline if the forums' clock gets all wonky again, like last year. 7. Your wagers will be scored based on the almighty Payout Table. The Payout Table gives a multiplier value to each ranking, and determines the return on your wagers. Each of your individual wagers are multiplied by their appropriate multipliers, and then totaled together. For example, here's the Payout Table for Week 4. Week 4 Payout Table 1st place - 2x 2nd place - 1.6x 3rd place - 1.3x 4th place - 1.1x 5th place - .9x 6th place - .7x 7th place - .4x 8th place - 0x Good half, bad half. Which half are you going for? Being toward the top of the leaderboard is annoying. I actually have to think hard about my wagers. Usually, I'm in the middle or bottom, so I just throw around my points like it's nobody's business.
And this is a problem, because I have no idea what to do. The previews pretty much spoiled who arrives in Siberia 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. But they're not the kind of teams I'd really want to roll with.
