CBS announced today the 18 castaways who will compete against each other on SURVIVOR, when the Emmy Award-winning series premieres Wednesday, Sept. 27 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. This season returns to the Mamanuca Islands in Fiji and will celebrate the 35th edition of the series.
This edition, themed “Heroes v. Healers v. Hustlers,” will feature 18 castaways, divided into three groups of six based on how they are perceived by others. Heroes are used to being heralded for their achievements, healers receive gratitude for their work and hustlers must earn respect from others. These castaways will be forced to compete against each other with the same ultimate goal: to outwit, outplay and outlast each other in an attempt to become the Sole Survivor. The show is hosted by Emmy Award winner Jeff Probst. This season’s castaways include an Olympian, an NFL player, a bellhop, a diversity advocate and a urologist.
The following are the 18 castaways competing this fall.
“LEVU”- HEROES TRIBE
Alan Ball, 31 Hometown: Houston, Texas via Detroit, Mich. NFL Player
Ben Driebergen, 34 Hometown: Boise, Id. Marine
John “JP” Hilsabeck, 28 Hometown: Los Angeles Firefighter

Thanks so much for posting this thread, Sheldor! It's going to be very helpful in getting everyone organized. First impressions for me are that they are casting people who seem similar to prior years contestants....
Surfer boy ~ aka Fabio 2.0... The physical therapist sounds like Cirie, weary of nature and the elements. A marine, an NFL player, a firefighter ~ Tom then Jeremy, two fire fighters that won the game...A probation officer, a fisherwoman ~ Zoe 2.0, nerds, A Urologist, Dr. Sean, a wilderness guide?...etc.etc.
The hero's tribe seems stacked with athletes, should do quite well in challenges. The social worker says she is brilliant, perfect SAT score, are the healers the brains tribe? The Urologist with diarrhea of the mouth....should be interesting! And, I feel like there are a lot of nerds....people out of their elements. Why do they always bring redheads with very light complexions on this show, in the middle of a tropical beach....#fried #deepfried. The hustler tribe don't seem like hustlers in their pregame interviews, but they do seem like no collars?
Hopefully this season will be full of lots of surprises!
You're welcome FlowerPower. I thought it would be good to have all the cast photos and bios in one place. Love your synopsis of the cast! Cast seems very young and beautiful to me (more like a Big Brother cast than a Survivor cast). And yeah in the videos all the red heads and fair skin people are VERY sun burned!
