"State of the Spoiling - Episode 13, Survivor Micronesia - Fans vs Faves" |
LAST EDITED ON 05-08-08 AT 11:12 AM (EST) Survivor: Micronesia – Fans vs. Faves Episode 13: "If It Smells Like A Rat, Give It Cheese" Welcome, once again, to this week’s SOTS! This is where we pool all the info being discussed over the past week or so as we try to get to a conclusion what is going to happen in this week’s episode.
Share your thoughts, offer up your support or agree to disagree ... but as Colleen of S1 famously said, play nice - The Community Guidelines is always good to keep in the back of your mind.
Last Episode: Beefcake was medivacced out of the game because, after all, it's more important to be able to bury dead people for a few bucks a hour than it was to win a million bucks on 'Survivor' - and imagine that, that wasn't close to being the main story of the episode. Rather, it was the fact that it was about freakin' time the HII was properly used! Doe Eyes was sent to Exile Island and surprised almost everyone at Tribal Council with a reveal of the hidden immunity idol, which resulted in the motivational speaker Kumbaya (gather 'round the fire, everyone loves each other...) being bounced out of the game. You can check out last week's East Coast Spoiler Thread or read the episode summary over on Bashers whenever it is posted. Also, you can get some insights on what Beefcake and Kumbaya thought of their Survivor experiences here in the The RTVW player interviews thread.
This week’s episode: The title of this week's episode is brought to us by citywitch: "If it smells like a rat, give it cheese". I'm predicting this is Natugly talking about Fanboy after she overhears him backstabbing her while talking to Couch Potato, then she needs to figure out a way to keep him on her side in order to survive in the game. Next time on Survivor... from Brownroach's CBS Website clues for Episode 13: • The women try to use their powers of seduction to con a guy into a last-minute move that could cost him the game. • The last remaining Fans bond and promise to stick together... until one stabs the other directly in the front. • It's getting down to the wire for the Final 5, and these Castaways take SURVIVOR to a whole new level of gameplay. Don't miss as the twists and turns keep on coming in one of the most talked about seasons yet! We see in the vidcaps thread below that Fanboy is being approached by different women. We also see that Fanboy discusses a plan with Couch Potato that does not include Natugly - while Natugly is eavesdropping in on these two. Fanboy backstabs Natugly here. Vidcaps! Hot off the presses...
citywitch brings us a Episode 13 TV Guide teaser where we learn that Jiffy says: "You haven't seen the end of dumb moves at tribal council," teases Jeff Probst. "{Tonight's} episode is one where you go, 'You've got to be kidding me...this just didn't happen...how could this happen 16 seasons in?'"This is supported by the following voiceover:
Hoo boy. Buckle your seatbelts again, folks - here we go again with the bonehead moves. The best speculation I've seen so far is that Fanboy wins IC and gives it up to someone else (Doe Eyes or Natlugly) thinking he's saving that person, but gets voted out himself. Reward challenge:
Is there one? We haven't seen any vidcaps or evidence so far to suggest that there will be a reward challenge. If there is a reward, perhaps it's in combination with immunity? Immunity Challenge:
This appears to be a repeat of the Exile Island F4 challenge - as outlined by Trixiego over at Sucks: IMMUNITY CHALLENGE: PUZZLE DIG Aras and Cirie are reunited with Danielle and Terry as they convene once again with Jeff Probst, who explains the rules of the Immunity Challenge. For today's Challenge each Survivor will work to solve three puzzles. Using a set of coordinates, each castaway will cross two ropes. Where the ropes intersect, a bag of puzzle pieces is buried in the sand. They must dig up the pieces, then race back to their respective answer boards to complete their puzzle. The puzzle will reveal the next set of coordinates. The first person to solve all three puzzles wins Immunity. Racing down the beach, the Survivors dive into the sand to dig for their first bag of puzzle pieces. Aras comes up with his bag first, then flies through the puzzle to get his second set of coordinates. Terry is next to complete his puzzle, but Aras is already returning to the answer board with his second set of puzzle pieces. While Aras finishes his second puzzle, Terry is just starting to work on his second one, Danielle is digging for her second bag of puzzle pieces and Cirie is just finishing her first puzzle. Aras finds his last bag of pieces while Terry scrambles to complete his second puzzle. Terry finishes his second puzzle, but Aras is already working on his last one. Terry returns with his third bag of puzzle pieces and quickly closes the gap between himself and Aras. But Aras puts in the last piece of the puzzle so that it reads "SAFE FROM THE VOTE" and wins him Immunity.

With Jiffy's comments here: and
I'm more apt to believe that it's Fanboy that wins immunity because he's really the only one who might be dumb enough to fall for the trick of giving up immunity to save someone else and consequently get booted himself to satisfy the hype in these caps. We see Fanboy talking to Doe Eyes here - perhaps this is setting the stage for him to cough up immunity to her? (although I personally think this is the next morning after TC when Doe Eyes partied all night after her coup) Or maybe this is when Fanboy ends up feeling guilty towards Natugly by giving it to her to make amends for her overhearing his alliance attempt with Couch Potato?
Other spoiling tidbits for this week:
VerucaSalt’s The Players, The Game, The Editing – Survivor Fans vs. Favourites editing thread is a must-read, as usual, to gain some interpretations on how the show is being edited to reflect on the Survivors still in the game.
Scarlett's End Game Discussion thread would be good to be bumped as we try to figure out how the final five will unfold and what may happen in the final Tribal Council. Here is Bebo's Visiting Survivor Fever’s list thread again. Some ideas on how the final five could unfold.
In summary: Reward challenge: None? Exile Island: None? Immunity challenge: Fanboy Boot: Fanboy after he is arm-twisted into giving up immunity. Now that you've read this far, march on over to dabo’s Vote Thread.
Coming up on Sunday, the title of the finale has been released: "Stir the Pot" (thanks citywitch). Not sure why the conversation in there turned to discussing this week's episode when clearly the thread is about the finale. Thanks once again for reading, folks… enjoy spoiling and watching the show! My humble apologies for keeping y'all waiting with a few things popping up that needed my attention.

Thanks for the info Pepe O'Pew. One thing gives me a problem though. Jeff says"Something that has never happened before with the idol. happens".
As michel pointed out: "1- At F10 in Pearl Island, Burton had been granted individual immunity for one TC because he was a returning Outcast. When he also won the individual immunity, he gave it to Rupert. 2- At F6 in Amazon, Jenna had individual immunity but was ready to go home. She gave it to Heidi because they thought Heidi would have a better shot at winning immunity and ruining Rob's plan. Rob saw Jenna as his goat so the hesitating Christy went home instead." And Brownroach pointed out: "Re the HII: Earl/Yau-Man et al knew that either Mookie or Alex had the idol; Dreamz told them that Mookie gave it to Alex. They weren't sure which one so Stacy suggested they vote for Edgardo to be safe. But that all happened before they got to TC, where it ended up that Alex played the idol. It would be something new if the HII were passed to someone else at TC after the votes were cast." So what is the "never happened before?" Misty in (Exile Island)tried to fake having the HII, but was still voted out. A fake has been played twice(this and last season), the idol has not been played several times, when needed and when not needed. Jason was played by Natalie, so that has been done, so Erik being played is not something that has never happened before. All the hype is on Erik being the last man standing, but when they ask can he prevail against the women, does this not mean that he will? Before when CBS has done this type of promo it has not happened. Will it happen this time? Several theories have been put forth. but they all seem to involve something that has happened before. Maybe one of them is right. I guess we will find out tonight. I hope it is not just another hype about nothing by CBS.

LAST EDITED ON 05-08-08 AT 04:51 PM (EST)LAST EDITED ON 05-08-08 AT 02:23 PM (EST) I've always enjoyed SOTS, that's what brought me to this site. Pepe, you never disapoint, and it was better late than never!! As for proof about exile, i may have found it. I just posted this in the vidcap thread, but if you look at the vidcap where all of them are standing there waiting for the IC, there's a bag next to Natugly. It's either hers or Couch Potato's (next to her). Could she have just returned from Exile?? (i don't know how to bring the vidcap over...sorry)

If there was maybe another HII, maybe they announce that at the reward challenge and the winner of tonights reward challenge gets a clue to where its at... Seems like they have done that before in the past.

First of all, loved your SOTS pepe. Your right, Parvati would be named Invisible. What's up with that? Parvati not being showed in the thick of things. Hummm??As Runnr3003 said: >If there was maybe another HII, >maybe they announce that at >the reward challenge and the >winner of tonights reward challenge >gets a clue to where >its at... Seems like >they have done that before >in the past. I'm tending to agree with you runnr. Could it be that's why CBS hasn't showed any signs of a RC, but has Jeff leak a tidbit about the "idol" affecting the game? Maybe there will be a RC and the winner, like you said, gets a clue to the HII and it's hidden somewhere around their island. That would be interesting if somehow the coordinates they decipher in the "IC" can be used as clues to the HII and that could be open for anybody to find. That is if they can figure out the coordinates in relation to the island (they'd have to give them some kind of map to use). I just had a brain-fart. What if the "IC" is really an IC/RC combo and the winner gets immunity and the runner-up gets clues to the HII which can be used at this TC (if they can find it). Has anything like that been done before? Also, over at http://www.fantasysurvivor.com/ they have a poll question about "who wins the vehicle?" Sooooo I wonder if it's time to give a car away also this epi......it's been awhile since they've done that.

LAST EDITED ON 05-08-08 AT 06:52 PM (EST)Love your SOTS, Pepe!!! Great stuff as per your usual standards. I agree with Brownroach, when Jeff doesn't call it the immunity necklace, he calls it individual immunity. Never the idol at this stage of the game. Besides, whether we see evidence or not, the rules of the game state that if the HII is played (Amanda) or put out of the game (as with Ozzy or Jason), it WILL be put back into play. If it is in play, there must be an opportunity to find it. IIRC, Danielle was exiled at F4 even though the idol had been found, the same thing with Cook Islands, and they have continued to exile somebody as long as the idol is viable so far, why would they cease?
