Flowerpower 4136 desperate attention whore postings DAW Level: "Jerry Springer Show Guest" 04-25-08, 09:16 AM (EST) "Vidcaps, Episode 12" LAST EDITED ON 04-25-08 AT 09:18 AM (EST) Thanks to Survivor Fever... The first confessional with James notes that he works with his hands and it's important to get this injury checked out. This probably was his response after Cirie noted it in last nights episode when we saw the cut on his finger. He probably had it wrapped, as we see it bandaged at TC. Then, the pictures of him going into the medic boat are probably right after TC last night....looks as though he has already developed a boil, or abcess. You can see that they have lanced it, to allow for drainage. Looks as though James is indeed headed down the same path that Jonathan took...note the abcess looks to be farther up his arm, and not on his hand....the infection has spread rapidly as did Jonathan's. The question is will he leave this week or next? What a rip off with all of these injuries....ETA: But note we do indeed see James at the Family Reward challenge, as he's right there behind Natalie hugging her mom... Next, notice when we hear Jeff talking about yet another hidden II, we are shown female hands digging...could they be the hands of our next exilee/hidden immunity finder? Note the hands are white and female, and who wears a string bracelet like that? Amanda perhaps...Note her left arm. Will Amanda go to EI and find the hidden II? And Eric is priceless! If the spoiler is correct that he suffers a game-ending injury that takes him out (rather than voted out) are correct I think he leaves this week. His injury was a focal point of last night's ep, highlighted on at least 3 different occasions. I think he he will go just like Jonathan did and I guess sometime between reward and TC. If the injury doesn't take him out, he would have been next to be voted out unless he wins immunity. Either James hangs tough & wins immunity & Erik is voted out or James is taken out of the game by medical before IC and then Erik is voted out at TC. Leaving WAY too much estrogen on that island, for my taste. Re the digging pictures: Could that be Amanda from last night's IC? The HII has been under that coral/rock thing both times prior, so I don't know if it would be buried in sand this time. It'll be interesting to see who has the right to send someone to exile. If Amanda, James or Erik do they should send one of their 3 to find the HII or send Cirie, who is too lazy to find it for the Black Widow Alliance. But I could see them choosing Parvati as "punishment" and keeping her from her family. If any of the BWA get the right, their best bet would be to send wide-eyed-and-almost-as-clueless-as-Jason Erik to the island. Good chance he couldn't figure out the clues, but if he did he could be suckered just like Jason with the promise of "friendship." Why couldn't it just be that someone else wins the IC, but the way the in-camp discussion is going leads a current power player (i.e. Cirie or Parvati) to fear for her status in the game? Then it turns out to be much ado about nothing at TC when Erik gets booted, just another CBS misdirection? It wouldn't take much for a power player to fear for her status in the game - after all, we've seen a Survivor 'legend' get turfed out onto his azz (Ozzy) because he thought he was so secure in the game, and we've had blindside after blindside in this game. Like Jiffy said, anyone who still believes they are safe in this game is a fool. We could have a situation where Cirie or Parvati could fear for their status if they see Alexis, Natalie, and Erik (or James) talking to Amanda, for example. Or even if James got medivac'ed out, we're left with 3 Fans and 3 Faves, who's to say this doesn't put a little fear in some of the Faves that there could be a tie at TC? "RE: Well, we now have an idea" Okay: First of all KOFan said that there will be 2 boots this week....she did not say a medivac and a boot, she said "2 boots". To me that says that 2 people will leave the game by being voted out. While I totally give major kudos to Survivor Fever this season for having the inside track, since the jury has begun we seen the list veer off track a bit...Ozzy was not mid jury, Jason was supposed to be after Eliza, and then followed by the remaining men...now, we are getting clues from CBS that point to a woman for this week. Let's just take what someone says and still try to figure it out. Alexis, to me, is not a major power player. Natalie was not in a position of power until the last episode, she is being edited as one who is getting arrogant as to their position in the game. She, imo, would make the most likely candidate to get blindsided at this point. Regarding James, no doubt he's in danger of having to leave the game. I would think that he would he seen more in crisis in the vidcaps though, as Jonathan was in his leaving episode, but definately not necessarily. And after the preview showed James' finger actually cut then people thought it was a hoax after all. But now you say there is more to it, so maybe he was right? I can't find his post, but what he said was that Alexis and James go to a restricted area for crew only and get some food and so they are kicked off the show, but that the producers do a cover story of the two being injured and having to leave the game. As I said, that spoiler was not taken seriously because it was too strange and also since because we got to see James' injury in the preview. Another reason it was thought this was fake was the extra money that James got after China. But that poster gave other spoilers about things that happened that weren't in previews but seen in the show, so it's possible that he would know if something funky was going on. Maybe he's creating a fake reason to cover up the real one. KOB's cryptic post implies something's going on. "RE: Well, we now have an idea" Seldon, my remark was in no way meant to be nasty, nor was it directed at you. I just really found the "spoiler" to be really funny and far-fetched. Maybe if this was S2 - Australia, where the Survivors were truly starving to death I might believe it, but there really doesn't seem to be a lack of food at the former Malakal beach and the Survivors this season aren't losing that much weight compared to other seasons. Also, I don't see that to be in James' character. James wouldn't be calling Parvati selfish for making a power move and then go and steal food himself and "cheat." But that is just my opinion. I also don't believe there is as much "cheating" going on during Survivor as other people do. A friend of mine who has watched since S1 still swears that the Survivors are allowed daily showers with running water and bathroom facilities and that the "roughing it" is not real. "RE: Well, we now have an idea" Just as an FYI on the "they don't seem to be starving or losing as much weight as other seasons." James is a big man needing alot of food to stoke his fire, he has done back to back seasons and was not 100% recovered from China yet. This season it has rained way more than most seasons and while they show us on camera that they appear to be eating alot of coconuts, they are really not eating alot of protein. Very hard to fish when it rains, very hard to scrounge for food or do anything much but sit around and wait it out. It looks way easier than it is, these guys are perpetually hungry even with the reward food/merge feast. Now also keep in mind that James knows he is not long for this game with the guys being picked off. He was probably out walking and got a little close to production and didn't weigh the consequences of his actions, he gave in to hunger and bit the apple, I so can see him doing this. I can also see Alexis doing this too, Georgiana made a great point by saying that is why Jeff really played up her pouting about not getting food at the temptation IC. Lastly, if any contestant on Survivor actually did "cheat" like that, there isn't a doubt in my mind that EPMB would show it to the viewers and make the the cheaters suffer the scorn of the viewers and fellow contestants and evict them from the game in shame. Actually not true, they have taken great lengths in the past to cover up cheating for the sanctity of the precious game. They want to protect their image as a "reality" show so they will do what it takes to make it look real. "RE: Well, we now have an idea" I read the same information (at Survivor Sucks) a few days ago. I suppose I need to rethink that 'particularly meanspirited ... tripe' comment. In addition to Jeff's deference to James at the China reunion, I thought too that it would create more suspicion and controversy (both inside and outside the Game) than it resolved if they attempted to discipline the two players via exaggerating minor injuries. But, I suppose that if the players who didn't cheat knew about it, then it is possible that the producers may have been between the rock of a general mutiny and the hard place of removing Alexis and James from the competition. In any event, perhaps we also now have an idea why Alexis' snit (during an earlier IIC) after being denied the food bribe to which she obviously felt entitled was so prominently played. This has been, it seems to me, a singularly odd Season. From my perspective (and perhaps I'll yet post a truncated Signs of Survival), it was the most prejudicially - cast ... manipulative ... staging of the Game since Thailand and Palau. For instance: the tribal compositions were designed to give the Favorites a huge initial advantage. The Fans (as a tribe) never had a prayer. Not because of the individuals, but because of the types and the ratios, that were cast. James/Erik/Amanda will definitely aim for Parvati first and the alliance of Nat/Alex/Cirie/Parv will go for James, Erik & Amanda. Natalie or Alexis will win reward. It looks like Amanda returning from Exile with her bag on her shoulder, which also makes me think it points to a Nat or Alexis reward win. The shooting thing will be IC and they'll probably be shooting at small tiles or something that is not shown. I would assume Erik would have the advantage, coming from a tiny podunk midwest place where he probably learned to shoot at a young age. Amanda to EI and finds II. Erik wins immunity - Alexis is voted out. Since they apparently already know who is going home there should be no need for the II to be played. This leaves 5. The II is good thru the final 5 TC correct? So next week Erik should be voted out, but Amanda gives him the II and they vote Natalie. Final four is Amanda, Erik, Cirie and Parvarti. Erik does not win immunity at final 4 so he is voted out. We actually end up with a final three alliance that was shown to us from the very beginning. One thing I have seen repeatedly here is that alliances shown do not succeed. So either the editors changed it up this time or this is where my "theory" gets a little wacko - at final four there is a tie between Cirie and either Amanda or Erik. Cirie loses the tie breaker and the final 3 is Amanda, Erik and Parvarti. One of the women wins final immunity and takes the other. Re Amanda's "dislike" of Alexis, I saw in Ozzy's interview that the whole jealousy of Alexis was overblown, that Amanda was lying on the other side of Ozzy but had gotten up to take a bathroom break. Then we're shown Amanda's concern about "motivational speaker" even though Alexis never emerged as a real boot target that episode. In hindsight, with KO's apparent agreement with the Blazer post, it looks to me like maybe they edited in an Amanda vs Alexis theme in order to make this Alexis boot make sense to us. Just spec of course. It would also not be strange, if Erik shoots his way to immunity (can you say this is tailored to help a guy survive much?), for the 3 faves to target a fan -- especially if Alexis and Nat are off on reward. While Parv might want to keep the two fans as an alliance to help her eliminate Amanda, I don't see why Cirie would want to keep the two unknowns around as they could easily decide to take her down at F5. That would be a very simple vote, Faves against Fans. But it sounds like things will be more interesting than that. Or the black widow brigade could have the hubris to try to set up Amanda just the same as Jason, only this time the target can't be an alt choice like James, but must be one of their own, in this case Alexis playing the pawn. Amanda plays the idol and Alexis goes even though the others voted Amanda. That would be fun to see. My only problem with the fake injury scenario is that James' arm appears to have a nasty boil on it. But perhaps medical could have knocked it out without IV meds. I find it hard to believe they made a fake boil, but hey, it's TV! Re the question of why James and Alexis would be foraging together, I wonder if it could have happened during Ep 10 when James was left alone with the 3 girls. He must have been bitterly disappointed to lose that great RC feast and know the others were feasting. I could see how it might take 3-4 days after their being caught before the situation was decided. I noticed that James and Alexis were both shut out during the auction - no winning bids, which I thought odd, why wouldn't they go all out to win something, especially James, doesn't seem like a guy to take a chance on the auction ending leaving him empty-handed. I agree with your point. If production intervenes absolutely and says, Alexis, you are out, and here's how the vote will go, they have no "right" to make Amanda use her idol. And perhaps she doesn't. I was trying to think of a scenario where the manipulation is on a smaller level than that. I have no knowledge of how production did or didn't handle the cheating, if it happened. I still think that we were given a few highlighted moments showing Amanda's desire to get Alexis out, that had no function in the story at the time. Since I made that last post, I read that Jason said Alexis bid and won a letter from home, but it was not shown, and that he was given food when he arrived at EI. I tend to believe the rumor about Alexis, because her edit has been so low key and lousy this season. The editors could have picked a fan female for us to root for, and I expected Alexis to be it, but it didn't happen. In hindsight, could have been that they were too upset with her. As for James, he's one of the most popular Survivors ever and a fan favorite. They are not going to want to tarnish his image, particularly after he was voted to get the extra prize in China.
