"The Winning Quote?"
Also thought it'd be good to have a thread to collect potential winning quotes that might pop up as we go along, although from past experience, the winning quote usually is one we had no idea would have any significance at the time but with 20/20 hindsight, it's the million dollar quote.

One notable exception was last season when Earl said he was the King of Fiji in the very first few minutes of the show.

Were we handed the winning quote in this season's first episode?

From Todd Herzog:

"I will do what I need to do to win the million dollars."

An aside, not long after that, there was a monkey shown on a tree, it had this long face (just like Todd's) and its hand made a 'gay' gesture with the hand becoming a limp wrist. A subtle hint that Todd is the winner along with the million dollar quote he just said? Out of the thousands of animal imagery they could have chosen from the dozens of cameras running 24/7, they chose this imagery to put into the show.

Please feel free to add any potential "winning quotes" as we go along.

Hiya Pepe! How are all the little LePew's? Great idea for a thread. I am with you. So far this was the one that stuck out for me as well. Remember Robfadda had a great quote during all-stars that I think was as good as the winning quote, but it did not occur in the first show. Something about best case scenario/worst case scenario getting the girl and the million dollars...so, the quote could possibly have yet to come.

2. "RE: The Winning Quote?"
Amanda had a quote about the longevity of Fei Long.

As well Chicken and Dave each had a quote that was similar to each other basically saying "If we don't get it together we'll be back here (TC) alot" signifying the demise of Zhan Hu.

3. "RE: The Winning Quote?"
Between the quote, and the extensive discussion of Todd's strategy, I thought we were being given the winner here in Ep 1, just like we were in the first season. After all, with the spoilers analyzing the show to death, spoilers would be just as likely to discount it and wait for something else to come along as we would be to take it as face value.

Count me in the group of spoilers taking it at face value. I think we saw our winner explaining to us exactly how he's going to win. There's plenty of time between now and the final TC for the regular viewing community to forget...and yet feel satisfied when the plotline plays out.

4. "ditto"
ITA. I also think maybe the talk about this being the "most like season 1" might have something to do with the strategizing of the eventual winner.

I can definitely see Todd as our winner and would LOVE to see this come to fruition as I like what I've seen and heard from him so far.

*waves to Pepe and his family*

Ashley had a quote that stuck out in mind..can't remember the exact wording but it was along the longs of sticking it out no matter what it took. I remember her having a couple of confessionals along these lines, and it's why it stuck out.

Spookingly made by ARnutz!Ghost by the Great IceCat!

To me it seems like James is always shown pushing over huge bamboo shoots like they were matchsticks. This imagery just screams to me as winner footage. You know knocking out the competition as easily as he knocks down bamboo. What do you all think?

9. "RE: The Winning Quote?"
I agree ... I didn't notice the monkey gesture, good catch!

And with the final 2 already spoiled, I think Todd, like Earl, is shaping up to be the one who strategizes and is seen doing so ... as was Yul. As opposed to the way they made Aras look like a flake in Ep 1 of PEI -- with Aras it was about the journey, but the last two seasons we've had a player who started being a serious and smart playah from Day 1.

10. "The limp-wristed monkey..."
This was the best that I could find online - I tried using Innertube via CBS but it's only accessible for Americans:

I'll say it again... of the hundreds of animal imagery they could have picked out for the final edits, they inserted this limp-wristed monkey for a reason.
